Where are the heirs of Rachel Corrie?

Palestinians in Gaza are getting the snot kicked out of them ... by other Palestinians:

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday accused Hamas of staging a "bloody coup" to try and take full control of the Gaza Strip.

His allegations came as thousands of Hamas militiamen launched a full-scale attack on Fatah figures and institutions in most parts of the Gaza Strip. Hamas fighters captured the headquarters of the Fatah-backed security forces in the northern part of the Strip.

Twenty-one people were killed in this battle, which involved hundreds of fighters from both sides.

Oddly, I don't see any of our local PLO fetishists demanding restraint, bleating about war-crimes, calling for an end to the violence, etc. And I doubt we have to worry about any Evergreen State "College" students rushing to Gaza to stand in the way of Hamas vehicles.

1. They're all at the "techniques of bulldozer-sitting" seminar, a Geoduck 500 level class.

It used to be an elective, but since Rachel apparently missed it, its a grad level requirement.

2. stumbled across the site...
shocked by the racist drivel on here...
the fighting probably has 'nothing' to do with the fact that gazans are forced to live in an open air prison, cut off from the rest of the world, any aid, and most water/electricity disrupted... oh and did i mention this is the most concentrated place on earth in terms of population density? and then the usa and israel pump 50-million worth of weapons into the strip, and the security forces they back try to assassinate the prime minister and then air inciting messages... hmmmm....
it's okay though, the world is awake to usa and israeli crimes and your sick, nazi-like disdain for civilians killed in such conflicts is beyond comprehension... enjoy the rest of your miserable and racist lives!! frankly i'm tired of this right-wing drivel from losers who sit all they at their computers in their mysoginistic and racist corners of privilege.. the victims of this conflict on all sides deserve much more thoughtful interventions than this type of hate-mongering from fascists...

3. Hey, Stefan:

SURELY you didn't expect rational consistency from the radical left, did you ??.. ;-]

Actually, the leftie wacko calling himself ''Christian'' DOES exhibit the ONE kind of IRrational consistency that can be expected from the deep-space left:
Whatever bad happens, it's all the fault of the US and/or Israel. So if Fatah and Hamas get into an all-out murderous war with large numbers of civilians caught in the deliberate cross-fire, from the whacko-left point of view it's obvious:
Every round fired by Fatah and Hamas at each other is our fault or Israel's fault.... right.

4. Christian: Please explain for me how Arafat was able to put over a billion dollars into a Swiss Bank Account.
He had to take money from the people in Gaza to get this much in the bank. Money the US and EU gave to help the people in Palestine.
Arafat was kept alive until a deal could be made with Arafat's wife to get a hold of this money.
Please explain why daily Missiles are fired at Israel. Explain why IRAN is ordering these attacks to take attention from them so they can get a Nuclear weapon to Black Mail the world.
Explain why North Korea has sold it long range missile to IRAN.
The world is not perfect. But Moslims are to blame. They control by fear. Then use Israel as the reason they are poor. Yet they have bank accounts filled with money that was suppose to help those same downtrodden people.
In fact the Moslems in Gaza these poor victims of Israel terror really wish ISrael would take control of Gaza because when they were in charge The people at least had food. ANd did not have to fear feuding between Terrorist groups.
Cause and effect. And it is not Israel that keeps them in those camps. It is corrupt Terrorist LEadership.

5. I'm sure the evergreeners will do something to show their support. Maybe a fundraiser or something, like a pancake breakfast...

6. Indoctrinationist universities (Evergreen State College, etc.) will continue to pollute the minds of the young and impressionable as long as useful idiots like Christian (@ 2) are foolish enough to pay the tuition.

And muslims will continue to murder each other when there aren't any Jews and Americans to kill.

7. I don't care if the Israelis kill all the Palestinians tomorrow or the Palestinians kill all the Israelis tomorrow. Rachel Corrie wasted her life, which is tragic, and it's time for the US to uninvolve itself in this religious war.

8. My brother went to Evergreen. Couldn't get a job teaching with Evergreen credentials, and, it turns out, a conservative viewpoint. He ended up in E. Washington and is a conservative amoung conservatives there.

Don't know how he got through the college, though.

9. Fortunately for us, the heirs to Rachel Corrie are the very same overweight lazy kids Earl talks about in the above post on camp. Activism takes WORK! Duh.

10. The reason the blithering idiots are silent is that the Hamas aren't using bulldozers therefore there is no obvious symbol of the "evil" influence of the US and Israel. But then liberals always fall silent when they find out they backed the wrong horse. Kind of like their response to the New York and New Orleans looting sprees--speechless when they found out the "downtrodden hungry" were videotaped stealing everything but food.

11. The Greeners are too busy waving Impeach Bush signs in West Olympia to worry about this.

12. Christian: please look up the word "racist." Thanks!

13. The U.N. will intervene, set up "observers" who don't see anything and then blame the on-going civil war on Israel.

14. RE "Christian" #2

You want to see some population density, look at Hong Kong or Macau (the truly documented densest populated areas). No powder kegs there.

Maybe thats our fault too...

Glad you stopped by this site, though... you can go back to Daily Kos now.

cheers, Mike in Americas Vancouver

15. Libertarian @ 7

I have to say that your characterizing this as a religious war is probably not accurate. Despite religious elements on both sides, the Israel/Palestine conflict is way more complicated, involving ethnic disputes, individuals, competition over resources, etc. In fact I would venture to say that religion has the least to do with it as until recently, the majority of Zionists, and indeed the founders of Israel were secular Jews, many of who, at best, payed lip service to G-d.

16. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reductio_ad_Hitlerum

Christian,
Study history and you will clearly see that it was the intelligentsia and cultural elites primarily the left and academia that supported Hitler and Nazis throughout their rise to power, as they did that other prolific engine of human suffering, communism. Do you have any idea who Walter Duranty was? Furthermore next time you think about claiming that some other group is Nazi or Hitler like, you may consider the info at thte link above.

17. JDH: George Bush is Hitler!

18. JDH/Pudge--"Christian" achieved about the fastest proof of Godwin's Law that I have seen in reading blogs--the second comment!! Of course on her left wing blogs perhaps that isn't so unusual. Her anti-semitic drivel and Nazi references may be right at home there.

Notice she never learned basic skills in the use of capitalization in school either...

19. I went to Evergreen, graduated with a BS, went through OCS, now I'm an Infantry Officer in the US Army. The hippie activists at Evergreen are really a vocal minority.

Christian's reply had to be sarcasm, it hit on EVERY talking point among the hippie crowd with just enough emotional high horse coming through. But real reason I know it is sarcasm? Not enough misspelled words.

20. Jimro, congratulations on graduating from Evergreen and still having your head on straight!

I'm not so sure about Christian's comments being sarcasm. I googled her e-mail address and it turned up a lot of hate America, hate NATO type stuff.

Bill H

P.S. Thanks for your service. Have you been or will you be going to either Iraq or Afganistan?

21. "Oddly, I don't see any of our local PLO fetishists demanding restraint, bleating about war-crimes, calling for an end to the violence, etc."

You would if you looked.

Correlating Corrie's death with your lack of perception of current peace efforts is just plain weird.
