Only 9 days until I-25's June 20 deadline to submit petitions.
It's not a done deal, but will get done if enough people care enough to make it succeed.
Over 200 donors have together contributed over $100,000. Dozens more have gathered signatures. But the campaign still doesn't have enough money to pay for all the needed signatures.
Many of you responded generously to my appeal last week. Hooray and thank you! $3,600 in online donations came from Sound Politics readers alone. Others sent checks (I don't have the numbers yet). But the campaign hasn't met the goal yet. The planned safety cushions of time and signatures have been trimmed. Without the needed funds, the initiative fails altogether.
I-25's failure would be a tragedy for fair elections in our state. But you can still help ensure its success.
If you've collected signatures, mail your petitions in TODAY.
And please help the campaign come up with the last $11,000. Donate TODAY
There is a phone number on their web site. I called them last week and requested a petition, which I have not recieved. I am wondering if they are more interested in money than they are in signatures.

That's ridiculous. The money is for the professsionally-gathered signatures. If the campaign didn't fulfill your recent request for a petition, it's because it's too close to the submission deadline. Now's the time to collect the petitions that have already been circulating. It's too late to send out new petitions and hope they come back in time for the deadline.
