More on Bill Sherman's PDC Reports

See the amended C4 (Summary of Receipts and Expenditures) dated 9/12/2006 for the period ending 9/11/2006

Line 17: Total cash and in kind expenditures during campaign: $80,739.28
The subsequent and most recent C4, for the period 9/12 - 10/30/2006 was filed on 11/15/2006
Line 10: Previous total cash and in kind expenditures (From line 17, last C-4): $119,717.45
As the candidate, Sherman certified "that the information herein and on the accompanying schedules and attachments is true and correct to the best of my knowledge".

The unexplained discrepancy is greater than the reported $36,608.89 deficit balance. If there was a surplus, wouldn't Sherman notice the leftover funds in some bank account? In any event, the campaign does not appear to have complied with the post-election requirements described here pp. 56-57.

With these accounting skills, it's a wonder Ron Sims didn't appoint Sherman to be director of elections!

1. That was a little brutal wasn't it, Stefan?

Nope.

How can the guy be trusted to run an office when he can't comply with the law- dumb as it may be?

2. Come on Stephen...his filings are "as accurate as any bank" as Ron Sims would say! Isn't that good enough?

3. All you're doing by focusing so much on Sherman is showing the world how scared you and your right-wing cronies are of him and his campaign. You're going to lose the one county-wide office you've held. Get over it.

4. Thanks, Willis. And you're giving me and my "right-wing cronies" advice, because...?

5. While it is fair to critique the Satterburg performance during the Rossi-Gregoire dispute of 2004, I would hate to think what we could expect out of the PA's office with a leftist coffeehouse hack like Scully or Sherman in charge. I look at Scully's on-line resume and there is a lot of padding. I can't imagine that he really had much to do with keeping Milosovich behind bars in the Hague. And his return to Futurewise where he probably makes $40,000 a year leads me to believe that he doesn't have to worry about student loans from his fairly recent ($25-30k per year tuition) NYU education. He was probably a patrician dilettante prosecutor like John Forbes Kerry was for five years between losing a bid for Congress and being elected Lt Governor of Mass.

Rather doing real legal work, Scully went off to the Hague and Futurewise to bide his time until a political opportunity opens up.

I don't know much about Sherman other than he lost a bid for the legislature in 2006 and that he has been in the Prosecutor's Office for awhile and ran 3rd in the D Primary for a House seat in the 43rd last year.

But it may not matter. I fear that a dilettante leftist coffeehouse hack will beat a Republican in King County no matter what.
