See the amended C4 (Summary of Receipts and Expenditures) dated 9/12/2006 for the period ending 9/11/2006
Line 17: Total cash and in kind expenditures during campaign: $80,739.28The subsequent and most recent C4, for the period 9/12 - 10/30/2006 was filed on 11/15/2006
Line 10: Previous total cash and in kind expenditures (From line 17, last C-4): $119,717.45As the candidate, Sherman certified "that the information herein and on the accompanying schedules and attachments is true and correct to the best of my knowledge".
The unexplained discrepancy is greater than the reported $36,608.89 deficit balance. If there was a surplus, wouldn't Sherman notice the leftover funds in some bank account? In any event, the campaign does not appear to have complied with the post-election requirements described here pp. 56-57.
With these accounting skills, it's a wonder Ron Sims didn't appoint Sherman to be director of elections!
Nope.
How can the guy be trusted to run an office when he can't comply with the law- dumb as it may be?

I don't know much about Sherman other than he lost a bid for the legislature in 2006 and that he has been in the Prosecutor's Office for awhile and ran 3rd in the D Primary for a House seat in the 43rd last year.
But it may not matter. I fear that a dilettante leftist coffeehouse hack will beat a Republican in King County no matter what.
