'Schrammie' forces evacuation of corrections dept.
KOMO-TV reports: More than 300 people were evacuated from the state Department of Corrections here Friday morning after a box containing a "Schrammie" bobblehead aroused suspicion in the mail room. ...

Calkins said the mail clerk was suspicious of the package because the outside of the package was stained and he could not find a return address.

Sounds like another Schrammie is in order.

1. What a stupid thing to do!!!

Only in la,la land! I think some one needs to get taken to jail!!!

2. The clerk did exactly the right thing. Lack of a return address and a stained package are two items right on the suspicious package checklist. They were just doing their job.

If anyone deserves blame, it is the people who mailed the package.

3. Anyone got a job for a 300-pound lesbian? I'm out of "The View."

4. I have to concur with rbb, above.

When I was working at a small software company in the early '80s, we got an unexpected package with no return address. After a bit of worry, we called the bomb squad (this was just after one of the Unabomber attacks), and they evacuated the building.

Turned out to be nothing, but the bomb squad got some exercise.

5. Some you may be missing the real point here.....
The "Schram" Bobblehead is one of the most hideous looking toys ever foisted upon Man-- and Womankind.
Frankly, I'd be more worried about the long-term psychological impacts of receiving and staring at this abomination than having it blow up.
An overwhelming # of people who have been expose to the Schram Bobblehead for more than 5 minutes are alleged to prefer suicide to continuing life with that appalling vision burned in their memories.

6. Be it the doll or the real bobblehead, if either showed up on my doorstep I'd evacuate too!

Hell, I've had to sit next to the guy when my daughter and his son sang together in Inglemoor HS's jazz ensemble, Encore. A less pleasent chap there isn't in the universe!

And he ripped me several new ones during the Tent City 4 wars, too.

Ken Schramm...unsafe at any speed, bobbling or standing still!

7. And I don't want to hear of anybody sending suspicious looking, unmarked packages c.o. Ken Schramm at 140 4th Ave. North, Suite 340 Seattle, WA...

8. Well at least it wasn't a light bright toy.

9. "Light bright toy???" Hey! We're talking Ken Schramm here! The first two words are oxymoronic; only the third applies.

But I gotta get me one of them bobbleheaeds to stick in the rear window of a '57 Chev Bel-Air, which I'll also have to get.

10.
How come the "Schrammie" looks about 10 years younger and 20 pounds lighter than the Schramm himself?

Maybe this is a call to create a new mold more in tune with current reality.

11. John--
10 years younger, 20 lbs. lighter and a MUCH better complexion.
Also notice how Sham is playing "pocket pool"...now that's realistic!

12. Hey Bailo!

Are you saying Schram and mold are the same? I'm confused; please explain!

13. No, we haven't become a notion of fear.

Not as long as wooden legs and bobbleheads are under control.

We could ask for a waiting period for postal shipments, but there's already one built in.

14. I have to plead ignorance when it comes to this Schram guy. Anyone know what is bio and credentials are?

He seems like a very angry person who has all the answers but no solutions.

15. The Schrammie was well-deserved by the DOC - but the unintended consequences should carry over. The next Schrammie should be returned to the sender and awarded to Ken Schram and see if it causes an evacuation of KVI and KOMO.

16. does anybody listen to the commentators? As much as I love Carlson I can't get over my dislike for KS. It's possible that the ratings are good but more probable that it will be canceled soon (haven't heard anything)

17. Schram is a jackass. He should have given himself a Schrammie for his utter stupidity, but the ignorant blowhard for some reason thinks of himself as a brainiac. Not!

18. I can't imagine a place (actually I can imagine quite a few) that deserved a Shrammie more than the DOC. Great job! Got any more Felons you want to let go this year?

19. Schram is an idiot. I'd call him a liberal too, but that would be redundant.

20. Wow, someone shit themselves and sent people into a panic? How Republican of them.

21. Ken is one of the reasons I stopped listening to that particular radio station. That management acted to put this yo-yo on the air tells me that they had zero respect for their listening audience.

The guy is just so full of fertilizer that you can smell him right through the radio.

22. I don't always agree with Mr. Schram, but I do agree with his rants about our state being a Nanny State with Nanny laws.

For me, it is hard to listen to him on the radio because he is so rude and arrogant while calling others rude and inconsiderate. He certainly is a great case study in hypocrisy.

To call Schram an idiot I think would be inaccurate...the man appears to be mostly well read, and does put up some good arguments. But does get his "facts" wrong more often than acceptable for me.

If he wasn't such a cocky bastard, it would be easier to listen to his side of the argument...which sometimes are informative.

In the meantime, I can't help but laugh at the Schrammie incident. I can only imagine how much Schram would chastise someone for making the same mistake he did. Will be interesting to see how he spins this into a blame shift.
