King County Elections E-mails (XI): What did they do about double voters?

King County Elections seems to prefer not to talk about double voters.

Last October Secretary of State staffer Pam Floyd sent this e-mail to the counties asking about follow-through on double voters:

1. How many double voters have you sent on to the county attorney for investigation and/or prosecution?
2. How many were identified through the VRDB?
3. How many were identified through your own research?
4. Were any prosecuted?
5. What were the results of any prosecution?
When it reached Sherril Huff, she just forwarded it down the foodchain. No indication that she followed-up. Floyd told me that King County never replied.

Likewise, I find no reply to this public records request for all documentation regarding "191 alleged/potential double voter cases".

Hmm.

Separately, the EFF asked Norm Maleng what his office did to investigate and prosecute suspected double voters. Maleng's answer is here. This deserves an entry of its own, but the summary is: only so much.

1. Dean Logan's first campaign was working to get Sherril Huff elected at age 11. Sherril Huff gave Dean Logan his first job out of High School. Dean Logan hired Sherril Huff as his deputy after the 2004 election fiasco. Ron Sims spent taxpayer dollars to hire an employment firm to tell him that Dean Logan's mentor was the best choice to replace the disgraced former Elections director.

How can ANYONE be surprised that this bunch doesn't care about the problems that made a Democrat governor in 2004 when she probably lost to the Republican? King County government is a country club for friends of Ron, friends of the elected, etc.

Norm Maleng? HaHa!

Sam Reed? Where was his pressure on King County to provide him the information he asked for last October?

People have got to understand that government is not there to protect and serve us. It's there to protect and serve itself!

2. no nutz, no actions. ergo, nuttin' changes...apathy. i still hold voters ultimately to blame for more interest in amer. idol TV than their voting process/rights.

how about a secret group to work from the inside. like a resistance movement?

3. Seeing Meleng's response, I can see this is no R or D thing. It is more about perpetuating the status quo and protecting their jobs.

Truthfully anyone, and I mean anyone, how can you not know you are voting twice? I mean, I know I was born, but I wasn't born yesterday.

Pretty pithy, Norm Meleng.

4. Jimmy @2 It is very difficult to go underground at KCE. I understand they check the lobotomy scars before each meeting.

5. Obviously, the thing to do is make double voters retroactively legal. Why just tolerate double voters when you can declare them legal?

The White House set a good example for doing this in the immigration bill they "hammered out." Violate our immigration laws, get legal status. I don't think the two situations are much different.

6. Duh, you can steal elections (Lowery Eikenberry),(Cantvotewell Gorton) and (GreGORE Rossi) and NO one will do anything about it, not in King County, the Washington AG,Washington Sec of Statelessness, the US Attorney, the FBI/Justice department, incompetent judges, "NO" one will do anything about it.....not ever.(and the dipstick state party chair hires the "law firm that retains Gary Locke" and other demorats to take Rossi's case to court??? like how stupid can it get)???

7. There was far more accountability and security in the Iraqi elections than in King County. The Iraqis dipped every voter's finger in purple die.

No doubt the Arrogant Leftists in King County think it would be far beneath us to have to dip our fingers in ink. But it's a simple solution, and it works. And there are plenty of other simple procedures that can solve almost all election problems.

The bottom line is that the Democrats in King County are not interested in secure and accountable elections. And our law enforcement agencies are not interested in enforcing elections laws.

After I-25, the next campaign /donation drives should be to buy large blocks of television ad time so that Stefan's information can be made public to all of WA. And especially to King County next October.

8. What Maleng's office is saying, in effect, is that ignorance of the law is an effective excuse in King County, as long as the Sheriff's office cannot afford to investigate. Maybe there should be a drive to scrutinize funding, and spending, in the Sheriff's office?

9. What Maleng's office is saying is that ignorance of the law is a legitimate excuse in King County, because the Sheriff's office does not have enough resources to investigate. Election fraud has been relegated to the status of running a red light. Maybe the priorities in spending of the Sheriff's office needs to be investigated?

10. Sorry for the quasi-double post... the page was not refreshing. -- Huck

11. Reading Malengs letter provoked the thought "how many" of the illegal 675 felon votes, investigated in 2005, were for Gregworse?
