KIRO: "Commissioners' Brawl Lands 1 In Jail, Other In Hospital"

One Pierce County Fire Commissioner is in the hospital and another in jail Tuesday after the two men got into a fight Tuesday morning during a break in a commission meeting, reported KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Kevin McCarty.

Witnesses said that immediately before the fight, commissioner James Bosch was talking to commissioner Allen Yanity's wife. Bosch was reported to have said loudly, "Are you threatening me?," before Yanity jumped over a desk and hit Bosch in the head with a coffee cup, according to witnesses.

I'm surprised this sort of thing doesn't happen more often.

2. Let's hope it was a paper cup from Starbucks. Probably a reaction to the new free trade blend.

3. Here is something even worse.
Check out this article in today's Peninsula Daily News:
http://www.peninsuladailynews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070424/NEWS/704240303

Our 3 Marxist County Commissioners are using the Virginia Tech Massacre as a reason to intimidate farmers who are fighting for their land....making Roger Short (a kind man who has been screwed over big-time) look like a terrorist kook.
Nice tactic huh?
They also have adopted Codes of Decency which means you cannot be pissed off for them screwing you over and trying to steal your land.
Jefferson County is worse than Seattle.

I bet you are Shark, and I bet you think it's just too bad it doesn't.

Nice choice of "news" to report to us.

5. JeffCo-
Roger Short is a HERO.
It seems like he is mad as hell and ain't gonna lay down and let Jefferson County steal his property thru the Critical Areas Ordinance like folks in King County allowed to happen.
Good for him.

6. Hey Unk

Better than the persistant "hee haw" over at HA in regards to the tainted Pet food..... Now HA is using FEAR of our human food, and it is all GWB's fault.

Or Postman's latest post about Debolt's lil mishap in Centralia.

Do you call that "news"?

7.
Hard Fightin' Democrats...give 'em a little liquor and this is what happens...

And we want to give the bruisers how many billions to build a 520 bridge?

Isn't contributing to the Democratic projects a bit like giving a buck to a street person on 1st avenue...you know they'll spend it on booze or crack.

8. Actually, Stefan, KIRO only "reported" the news because they ripped it from the News Tribune this morning. KIRO and the TNT have some sort of arrangement where the TV station can rip off, oh, excuse me, I mean rip and read that morning's TNT. They are supposed to credit the story to the TNT but I am told by TNT staff that they rarely do so. I don't know that the newspaper gets anything meaningful out the arrangement.

9. "Tacoma," Stephan ...

The real drag about KIRO and the 'Trib getting props for the story is that they weren't even there. The only reporters that witnessed the attack were myself (Michael Colello, Peninsula Gateway) and Rodika Tollefson, of the Key Peninsula News. Part-owned by McClatchy, the Gateway is a weekly, so my piece didn't hit the stands until the following day, Wednesday, after the ‘Trib and KIRO ran theirs.
