1. I don't know about that Stefan. Think just amoment about what kind of idiots would spend money on such services.

Money spend there would not make its way to someone's campaign perhaps?

2. The only reason is to collect the State license fee of 35 bucks from the 10 people in the State who massage animals. $350 increase in State revenue, why to fill that budget shortfall Olympia!

Spit! Retards!

3. I can see it coming....animal "massage parlours" patrolled by the police to ensure no one comes within four feet.

4. Katomar, I see chickens doing table dances in Enumclaw for web cam shows. My God, how far are the liberals willing to take this?

5. "'Certified animal massage practitioner' means an individual who provides external manipulation or pressure of soft tissues by use of the hands, body, or device designed and limited to providing massage."

Geez. Will I need a license to pet my cats?

6. Dude. I don't want to even know what the "happy endings" are like with this one...

7. I can see the headline now

Seattle PD Busts Pet Massage Parlor

The Seattle PD, working on a tip, raided a local pet massage parlor. During the raid the of the masseuses were detained and the business has been shut down pending an investigation into massaging pets without a license. Chief Kerlikowske said, "We are doing what is necessary to keep Seattle safe from these criminals."

10. What a joke. This state is an embarrassment.

11. OK.... {deep breath}

I support this bill.

Believe it or not, there are people (many of them handicapped in some way) who make a living off of this practice.

Under current law, the requirement is that before one can engage in professional animal massage, one has to become certified in HUMAN massage... the animal massage license was an endorsement to the human massage license.

This bill eliminates that requirement.

Now, give me a sec while I put on my flame proof pajamas.

13. Hinton--
For the love of God man....think!
Where do the regulations end??
I question even licensing HUMAN Massage Therapists....much less folks that give pigs backrubs.

A good discussion is reviewing the Cost/Benefit of every regulation on the books. Is Washington State overregulated?? I believe it is already in many areas. Stuff like this just brings it to the surface.

14. Well, the options were 2: keep it over-regulated and overly burdensome to the select few who can actually do this for a living (since it leg damned sure wasn't going to change the Human requirement), or do what they did.

Of the realistic options available... this was the best outcome.
