I'll contribute too

David Sucher has a modest proposal to determine the true level of support for tearing down the Viaduct and replacing it with surface-gridlock -- the most electable surface-gridlock advocate (Erica Barnett? Cary Moon? Peter Steinbrueck?) should run for City Council on a surface-gridlock platform against Viaduct supporter David Della.

Sucher concludes (ironically):

Their overwhelming victory will conclusively prove that [surface-gridlock] is The Choice of the People.

Where do I send my campaign contribution?

I'll contribute $10, just enough to give them some encouragement.

1. Let's spend another $1 million on another ill-advised Advisory Ballot....it's sooooooooo Seattle!

Reading the mind-numbing drivel of the NEW AGE PROGRESSIVE LEFTIST PINHEADED KLOWNS is downright discouraging cuz they are actually serious about their chronic, ill-conceived wet-dreams.

This same Krowd of Kooks are also spewing fear about Global Warming....pending doom & disaster of rising sea levels are GUARANTEED!!
Yet they want a surface-gridlock option?????

The Seattle Kooks have weaved such a long web of lies & deceit over the years, they are now tripping over themselves!

Retrofit---before all the money is gone.

2. Ohhhhh, I am sooooo confused. I just didn't understand the ballot. All these spaces to mark, and so many options. Can we have a revote? Pleeeeeeeeease! Come on, we had one on the Seattle Commoms. It is only right.

3. Look, just do this:

1. Tear down the viaduct.
2. Don't do anything else.

Then, if it's miserable, build something.

If not, don't do anything.

End of story.

4. Actually, Peter Sherwin -- one of Seattle's most astute political strategists -- is the genius who came up with the suggestion of making Dellla's re-election bid a referendum on S/T.

I will go back to my post and if it seems to claim the idea as my own, I will re-write.

5. How about using that ten bucks for a few successive cups of overpriced Seattle coffee and waking up to find yourself NOT pretending rebuilding a newer bigger multi-billion dollar viaduct solves any systemic design problems in Seattle's idiotic and cheaply assembled transportation infrastucture. Gridlock is a farce, car haters are fewer in number than Passenger Pigeons. There can only be viaducts where there are also state funded jetpacks and ferries for all.
