Pictures from the Seattle ANSWER Rally at Westlake Mall

I lugged my gear down to the Seattle ANSWER protest Sunday at Westlake Mall and took pictures. There were the usual suspects, but this time Senator Eric Oemig was one of the speakers. You can view pictures and my comments at this post on the "My Own Side" blog. At the bottom of the post is a link to the full gallery of pictures.

1. I take it you must lift that dog's tail in order to see the Dishonorable Senator Oemig.
Oemig should be the Charter Member of the BONEHEAD KLUB OF SEATTLE who's motto is:
"To learn more & more about less & less until finally he knows nothing about anything!"

3. Did you see the communist holding up the sign blaming everything on capitalism??? bahaahaaa (there were a LOT of America-bashing communists running this rally. If Oemig wants to run with that crowd, let him. Just further exposes who he really is.)

4. What about Nick Lacata, Greg Nickel and Dime-Us and the entire City Council calling for an end to war? I mean, seriously, who are these people.

Look, instead of building a viaduct, how about we close off all the highways leading in and out of Seattle and hope that it secedes from the Union.

5. Hi all,
Why do conservatives feel the need to carry water for George Bush's Iraq war?
During 9/11, Bush read a children's book. After 9/11, Bush didn't see the need to fire anyone in the various bureaucracies whose job it had been to look out for attacks like that (we already were spending over $40 billion on that). Then he set about building a huge all-new bureaucracy (Homeland Security)that will be with us for the rest of our lives. Then he attacked Iraq, which was basically a Federal tax-and-spend adventure that most unforegiveably put our troops in harms way for no good reason. These are not the actions of a true limited-government conservative.
Cheers, NLC1

8. Nice post Byron. Thanks for the post at your website too. I appreciate that you go to these rallies, so I don't have to stain my eyes with the images of these America haters.

Your pictures form an excellent Moonbat Taxonomy.

Great shots. I just love the left. Talk about loony-tunes.
People, are we going to leave our S/S and country to these fools.

God, save us all soon. Were doomed!

11. Well, NLC1, you apparently need a bit of a history lesson, and since I've been terribly emboldened this morning, having found my PI Soundoff account has been banned for expressing my thoughts, I'll unload a bit on you.

NLC1, George Bush and the Last Remaining Superpower on Earth unleashed the wrath of the US military on a DICTATOR who, and this is according to all of the presidents since Carter!, had WMD in the past, had a history (clearly documented, and not even contested by the Left Wing Idiocy) of using WMD on his own people. His son, Uday, was such a wonderful man, he liked to rape young girls and video tape the event at his Pleasure Palace. When he wasn't busy doing that, he enjoyed himself with torturing the Olympic Atheletes, going so far as permanently disabling them when they didn't win.

And you know, Iraq was the Gold Standard in human rights, and women's rights under Sodamned Insane. I mean, people were so free, right? I mean, they'd only get killed if they didn't obey. What's so bad about that? Surely, such protests as you see on the streets of Seattle would be acceptable under the regime of Saddam?

As for Homeland Security, I would doubt that you have more interaction with them than I, as I fly 2-3 times per week for work. My interaction with the TSA is indeed frustrating at times. Sometimes it makes no sense at all, the things they do, and no, they didn't hire the sharpest knives in the drawer. HOWEVER... what would YOU have done differently? What would ANYONE have done differently? The American people do not have the stomach for tight airline security as is done in Isreal. The Sheeple here in the US would NOT tolerate the way the old Soviet Union handled hijackers - the ONE AND ONLY hijacker in the USSR was shot on sight, no trial, no plea's of innocence (he was the only one on the plane with an AK47...).

George Bush and all of the military leaders in the Iraq/Middle East theater stated from DAY ONE that this would be a long war of endurance, and challenged us to be strong. Unfortunatly, a good number of the Sheeple here are weak. I would hate to see the result of WWII and Hitler if that war were fought today... I dare say we'd have no Jews left, and we'd all be speaking German because I don't think the Sheeple would have the stomach to see it through to the end.

So, Mr. New Conservative, there you have it. Think about all of the good things that have happened as a result of the backbone of the Bush administration and the great men and women of the Winning Side of the Cold War (I like to say that because the Left hates it that we actually won and ARE the last Superpower).

Today, things like Women voting, Women going to school, families not having to worry about the Sodamned Insane Death Squads coming during the night, children not being kidnapped, raped and tortured, and on and on and on. These things happened because the United States of America had the backbone to stand up and say ENOUGH.

Think about that the next time you see the demonstrators..

12. Is it just me or does the dog look depressed to have to wear that stupid sign?

New Left (and not at all Conservative)#5

First off, the reading of the children's book to Kindergartens was planned for the day. You are faulting him for not reacting quick enough, so tell me when did you figure out that it was a terrorist attack. Even the 9/11 council showed that the country was unprepared for this kind of an attack and that it had been unprepared for longer than President Bush has been in office. If you have even watched the movie United 93 they show how confused the FAA was over whether there was even a hijacking or not. As for the war in Iraq, I am one of the soldiers who has served there and I can tell you that it was for something. Stop living in your MSM world and actually check out some of the Mill Bloggers' sites from soldiers bloggers who are telling it like it is. I can and have told some of what I have seen on this site. I have told about some of the Iraqi's that I met over there (unlike the MSM I did not stay inside the safety of the wire). I have told about how Saddam brutalized his own people. I am proud that I went over there and I will proudly go back!

16. Pfft. 3000 out of work, moaning hippies make the trek downtown, oh wait not even that. These people cringe when the Right move was made for Freedom to take out a dictator while they back others such as Chavez and Castro down south. Don't worry though, the thing about Liberals is that they are above having children. We are number two behind San Francisco for lack of children...they're killing themselves off.

17. LSBS--
Good point. How do these protestors support their lifestyle?? Someone should have done a poll. I'll bet:
50% Government Subsistence
25% Family Subsistence
25% Once in a lifetime experience...missed the
60's types.

From the looks of this crowd, the best way to disperse this crowd would be to throw in a bar of soap....or SCREAM "an L&I/Unemployment Fraud Investigator is in the crowd!!!!!!!"

18. True Soldier at 12.

You are correct, that pooch does look depressed!

19. I blame all of this on a failure of teachers. They fail to teach the history of this nation.

Since this country was founded we have been under attack by muslims. Thomas Jefferson had to fight with the cowards in the legislature to build a Navy to protect our countrymen from kidnap and enslavement.

Two hundred years later cowards are still trying to keep us from defending ourselves.

20. Anyone know how many "protesters" there were in attendance? I heard in DC, the counter protesters outnumbered the protesters 3 to 1. Of course, you never heard that on the dinosaur media.
That would have been nice to see, but it's Seattle after all. Didn't hear about any protests in Spokane. I don't think we're big enough for radical groups like ANSWER to have much of a toe hold just yet (thankfully). I guess us backwater hicks over here actually still respect the Office of the President, the military and the country.

Posted by: Brent in Spokane on March 21, 2007 03:39 PM
21. Brent - I concur... there weren't any protesters in Spokane because we DO still respect the people you mention. I remember when we moved over, the 1st highschool football game I went to - the kids ALL stood up, they ALL took their hats off, and they ALL were quiet and respectful until the colors were removed from the field. How much of an influence is the AFB? Don't know, don't care. Just glad we don't have the nonsense that goes on in the People's Republic of Seattle!

We've got to keep doing our part to spread the word that Seattle politics are NOT welcome east of the Cascades.

This rally had everything.

Although they both looked darn happy to be living in the good old USA.

23. #21-Paul

Have you ever been out to Big Al's (formerly Kelly's) or the Rockin' B Ranch out at Stateline?
Even though Big Al's is a bar and dance club, it's country music, and they often with play "God Bless the USA" at the end of the night, and everyone (no matter how rowdy all night) stand at attention and sing along with the band. It's pretty cool. Where do you see that on the Left Coast?
The Rockin B Ranch is a Family oriented Old West dinner show in the summer months out in this big old Barn. (I recommend it for any family, my co-worker's son used to play fiddle with the band there) They play the national anthem just before the show begins. EVERYONE stands at attention with hats off.

So, we still have a foothold in traditional American out here on the sticks, and I for one am happy we still do. Unfotunately, I've seen too many anti-Bush bumper-stickers, and talked to too many otherwise sane people who are caught up in this anti-war/anti-Bush hysteria. I think most of them don't understand what's behind much of this hysteria. I think if they knew who these groups like ANSWER were, and what they're alterior motives are, they'd wake up some. But, sadly, even over here there's a trick-down of this stuff from the Left coast and the media.

There's a lady that goest ot my gym out in the Valley. Really nice woman who chats with my wife and I. She's pretty traditional right down the line. Likes guns, hunting, self-reliance, etc. But when you talk about Bush, she shifts into this zombie-like trance about how bad he is, how stupid he is, how much he lies, how smart Kerry was, and how he needs to be tied up with endless Democrat investigations and/or impeached. So I challenged her on why. I debunked her "Bush lied about WMD" bit. She had no idea that Clinton had said Saddam had WMD too, or that Kerry made the case to disarm Iraq. She didn't know Bush got better grades than Kerry, and she really didn't know anything about Bush...just knew that he was a bad guy and stupid. Didn't know why, just knew it. We got in some heated debates, and I just let it go because she really was a nice person, and I hated that she was just such an ignorant drone on the topic. (She even baked me and my wife the best chocolate chip cookies...how can you be mad at that?)

She hates Bush even though she probably agrees with him on far more things than Kerry or Hillary. Unfortunately, there's too many people like this everywhere.

Dunno if you've ever been out to Big Al's at Stateline. It's a country bar, and most night, right at the end, the band plays "God Bless the USA". No matter how rowdy the patrons are, they all stand at attention and sing along with the band. It's really cool to see. How often do you see that on the Left Coast?

Go to a rodeo, and you'll actually see people that love their country still. Shocking to today's world, I know.

Yea, fortunately traditional America still has a home here. Unforunately I've seen too many anti-war/anti-Bush bumperstickers lately. talked to otherwise sane people who are starting to buy into this anti-war/anti-Bush hysteria. There's a lady that goes to my gym who often chats with my wife and I. Really nice lady, pretty traditional right down the line. BUt when you talk about Bush, she slips into this zombie like trance. She hates him. thinks he's a liar, and is all for endless investigations and/or impeachment.
When I challenge her on things, she has no idea. didn't know CLinton made regime change in Iraq a priority of the government in 1998, didn't know Kerry made the case for WMD many times. Didn't know Bush got better grades than Kerry. Didn't really even know why she didn't like him. She's just heard he's stupid and a liar, and so that's what she thinks. It lead to some heated debates, and so I just let it go. I hated the fact she was just this ignorant drone on the subject, wasn't worth it. She even made us cookies one day, how do you stay irritated at someone then?
But I am afraid she is not unique in her postion. Even though she agrees with Bush's positions on far more things than Kerry, she was told Bush was bad and she believed it. She has no idea who ANSWER is, or their alterior motives, or who MoveON.Org is, or anything.
So if anyone thinks the propaganda machine doesn't work, think again.

Unfortunately, there's too many like her over here. Forunately, they don't let their dislike of Bush turn into hatred for the military and their country, like on the Coasts. So at least we aren't there just yet.

25. Sorry for the double post. My browser glitch and it didn't look like my first one actually got posted. so I typed it again. doh!

26. Hey Brent, no, I've not been to those establishments, but have heard of them.

As for the bumperstickers, and attitudes you describe, unless and until we do something to confront it, and not allow it to go unchecked, we will become like the People's Republic of Seattle. We must confront the idiocy and treat them the way the liberals treat the conservatives in Seattle, or we shall be their next victims.

So, when you see a liberal with their bumper sticker call them on it - let them know they're full of s*$t, and it offends you.

When you see the 'protestors' remind them that they can protest only because of the freedoms granted by the Greatest Armed Forces in the World.

When you see a "get out of Iraq" poster/sticker/whatever, say to the person holding it, "I'm sorry you support child rape and torture. I wonder if your neighbors know you support the molestation of children." (Uday Hussein, Saddam's brother, did exactly this.)

Cheers to you.
