Ron Sims is behind the "decline to sign" campaign against Initiative 25, using this excuse:
The Republicans have formed a new group called Citizens for Accountable Elections to sponsor an initiative for an elected elections director in King County.Actually, I-25's early supporters include well-known Democrats, Republicans, Greens and Libertarians.
Sims knows that every poll shows that an overwhelming majority of voters from across the political spectrum support electing the elections director. That's why he'll do anything to prevent I-25 from getting on the ballot. Everybody understands that I-25 is about fairness and transparency and good governance. The only opponents are Sims and other insiders who want to stack the elections office with their self-interested campaign flunkies.
By falsely claiming that I-25 is a partisan effort, Sims is only projecting his own cynical motives for preserving the dysfunctional status quo.
