Vouchers, if any, should only be granted to the poor, and to the greatest extent possible should be funded by private charities. We must break the government school monopoly, that works to the great disadvantage of our urban poor, while helping only the collectivist union bosses.
One day, the Republicans will return to their limited-government, libertarian roots. That day will herald their political resurgence.

Given the way that the FEMA credit cards were abused after Katrina, I think it would better to encourage people with a tax credit than by giving them a check, even if it could only be spent on education. But either way, the key is to restore competition to education.
