Back to work for Congressman Reichert

Darcy Burner's concession speech is here. Jim Brunner, filling in for David Postman attended her press conference and has a report. Back to work in Washington, DC, Congressman Dave Reichert gave a post-victory interview to KING-5, here.

And for those who fret that Burner conceded too soon, Reichert widened his lead in both King and Pierce Counties today, to 5,767 votes, or 2.6%.

1. There were sure a lot of "we" and "we dids" in that speech for someone who does not get to take part in the next congress and didn't win her race. Darcy Burner claims her race captured the attention of the nation. I beg to differ. Webb, Tester, Lamont, Ford, McCaskill, Steele those races indeed captured the attention of the nation, and many other Democrats and Republicans too, but Burner garnered scarcely a mention at the national level.

I'm sure not going to miss Burner's speaking style. I'd rather listen to Maria Cantwell speak for five hours straight then spend five minuted listening to Burner's grating arrogance. She sure talks a lot of smack for someone with zero experience, very little success, and not a whole lot to gloat about beyond an inflated resume.

Good riddance.

2. I still don't think Goldy has any business buying you a beer. After all you are the rich ones. He should buy you some coffee.

3. My my, so many sour grapes in the left side of the local blogosphere. Most don't even have the decency to say a kind word about Congressman Reichert. What a bunch of sore losers!

4. I think I'm gonna puke... I'd rather hear fingernails on the blackboard than listen to the tripe that spews from Darcy Burner's mouth. I really liked the part about how "integrity and accountability had been restored to the Congress." Yeah, right. Just exactly how does having John "Abscam" Murtha and L.C. "I'm only one of six judges to ever be impeached" Hastings in potentially high level positions restore these values? That woman needs to get a clue.

5. Wait! Wait! More over stuffed ballot bags need to be counted.

6. I wonder if she would have gotten more votes if everything above her neck didn't constantly bounce around like a Mariner bobblehead... "I'm just asking..."

7. I think that was a very humble speech. I don't hear Reichert saying anything nice about his opponant other than now he is going to have to start listening to the people. Nice to time find out, Marshal Dillon.

8. Something nice about Dave's opponent... hmm let's see... OH I GOT IT... she enunciates really well!

9. I was talking about Sheriff Dave himself. I don't expect nice things from the amen choir. I stay loyal to my church too.

10. I can say something nice about Darcy - sort of. It sounds like she was brought up in a good family.

Her endless commerials about what her father did and her brother did made me want to perhaps elect them.

12. I'm in a good mood so rather than bash poor pathetic Burner who couldn't win in a Democratic tsunami, I'll just say THREE CHEERS FOR DAVE REICHERT, who may someday be a Republican Senator from the future Great State of Washington!
