Two Scary Things

Daniel Kirkdorffer has a short video of a CNN story on the Reichert-Burner up at his site. Here are the two scary things:

1) At about the 1:55 mark in the video the viewer gets a shot of Joel Connelly's desk, perhaps the messiest desk in the greater Seattle area (and I say this as a man who proudly maintains an untidy desk at my own office). I'm half concerned some of those stacks might tip over and suffocate him.

2) More seriously, the story closes with a reference to the possibility of all eyes in the nation turning to the 8th Congressional District if the race is close, AND if control of the House of Representatives hangs in the balance.

What?!?

King County counting ballots for control of the House? Oh, [insert profanity of choice here]! We'd make Florida in 2000 look like kindergarten.

The chance of such events is small, but the thought, terrifying.

UPDATE: Link to video fixed.

1. Yes - terrifying. Make certain the King County is not the last county in this seasick blue state to report - The other countries would have to work hand in hand with each other to ensure that this happens - not sure how something like that could be manipulated though.

Hopefully you and Shark will be able to observe the counting process and make lots of noise if there is any perceived mischief !

2. And you don't have to stand by powerless;---do some GOTV. Call the McGavick and Reichert (or wherever your congressman is) campaign and find out where you can plug in. It will be worth it. Especially for any race decided by less than 130 votes.

3. Joel Connelly keeps his desk like he keeps his body. What a pathetic man.

4. Dang, they shoulda tun that a week ago, in time for Halloween. Unlike all the usual black cats and spider webs, that is scary.

5. Um, make that "shoulda run that"

6. Just think of the media coverage! Weeks worth of cable news vans prowling the county, getting absolutely soaked, Campaign Carl Cameron standing outside with sheets of rain pouring down in the background, local officials making Ray Nagin look profoundly competent by comparison...

Ayieeeeeee!!!!!!
