State Democrats settle with Michael Yon over unauthorized photograph

Michael Yon told Postman that the issue over the state Democrat Party's unauthorized use of Yon's image in a mailer for Darcy Burner has been resolved:

Earlier today, concerns were raised about the use of an iconic photo to which I own the copyright. I understand that mistakes of this nature can happen with no malevolent intent, and the Washington State Democratic Party has responsibly addressed my concerns. We have agreed on a one-time license for the past use of the image and this matter has been fully and completely resolved.

No mention of the settlement terms, but if the Democrats paid Yon a licensing fee it should show up in a campaign financial disclosure eventually.

2. I called both the Burner campaign office and the state Democratic office. Burner's office told me they didn't know a thing about the "problem" because the state party did the flyer. They thought maybe the issue had been resolved but since it wasn't their flyer, it wasn't their responsibility. Call the state office.

So I called the state Democratic office. They put me on hold for five minutes. Came back and said "The issue is resolved." "How?" I asked. "It's resolved, I don't know how." they said. "Connect me with someone who can tell me how the issue was resolved." I asked. Five more minutes on hold. "Check the PI blogs. They have the information." they answered finally. "What's the web address of the blog with the information?" I asked. "I don't know." Click.

3. I sure like the way the Democrats can talk to the press and get away with it. "It is resolved" is all it takes. No in-depth research is needed anymore; it is a Democrat. If it were Cornball or Postman on a Republican, there would be FOIA requests, demands for payment terms, ad nauseum. Here, it is a simple "It is resolved".

REMEMBER JOHN KERRY. HE WAS THE DEMOCRAT PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE AND CURRENT LEADER OF THE PARTY.

Notice that Darcy is trucking (i.e. flying) in volunteers this weekend at her expense and giving them good lodging at her expense?

4. The one time license was for "one time past use." Sounds to me like the Demorats paid for the time that they did use it and have to not use it in the future.
