John Kerry is in Seattle at this hour

John Kerry is reportedly in Seattle today for a Cantwell fundraiser lunch.

The even bigger Kerry news of the day is his "get stuck in Iraq" comment, above.

Kerry says he meant to disparage the President, not the troops, but I think a lot of people are offended either way.

1. I found this statement to not only be appaling, but a misrepresentation of our troops. I can tell you first hand our troops are allot smarter than John Kerry gives them credit for. Not to mention if they are truly "stuck in Iraq" why is reenlistment rates well over the 100% goals? Answer the troops believe in what they are doing and they know that they are protecting our country.

2. John Kerry --- the Republican October surprise.

What an idiot! So John Kerry is going to support the failing Cantwell and cipher Darcy (Who?) Burner -- yeah, Kerry supports the troops. He thinks they are stupid ignorant and need the democrats to rescue them.

This man is a joke. Only a tone deaf politician would be seen beside him today. Maria???? Darcy????

4. I saw both the press conference as well as the original offensive comment that was made at a college in California. There is no doubt that the comment Kerry made is not only offensive, but that he clearly can blame only himself for the terrible remarks. During his press conference here in Seattle, he said he would not apologize because the comments were regarding the "White House." Clearly that is a lie.

Typical D move, blame others, distract from the issue, etc. etc. Every American should be outraged that this guy would disparage the troops in such a way. He is as un-American as they come.

5. I agree, this is the October surprise we Republicans have been waiting for. Am I a bad person for actually feeling a little happy right now?

Posted by: ferrous on October 31, 2006 12:27 PM
6. It's projection from the days of Vietnam which still form the majority of the world view in which Kerry operates. Back then, with the draft, it was true that if one did poorly in high school, they would not have the option to go on to college, and might instead be drafted. Of course, those days are long gone with the current military being a voluntary one, and with higher education being a staple in the population as a whole. But inside of Kerry's cocoon, everything is a happy blue, and all Republicans and Soldiers are idiots, etc.

What a fool. As I always say, we can't pay these people enough for all of their unhingedness, hatred, outwardly socialist, stupid and obnoxious remarks. This kind of advertising normally costs a lot, but the Dems give it to use for free, because they care more about their shrieking in the mirror, and their leftist idols than they do about relevance. Look no further than our own local HorsesAss. Even if he could gain credibility with a more nuanced approach, he shuns that at all costs preferring the suicidal, yet infinitely more leftist chic "Thelma and Louise" route, forgetting that it is of course, single-use.

13. Every time John Kerry opens his mouth, something incredibly stupid or just plain offensive comes out. Then we have to endure him, along with media spin, telling us he meant something actually entirely different. I do hope he keeps it up. Talk about shooting oneself in the foot!

19. That guy is an arrogant a**hole. He never strays far from type does he?

If anybody wants to know why the Iraq war is going poorly, they need look no further than Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Pelosi, Harry Reid, McDermott and the rest of the other leftist Demorats populating DC. These pompous slimeballs mount the world stage and give aid & comfort to the enemy through our rabid Bush hating media. These rank b*astards have extended this war by years and contributed to who knows how many deaths to feed their selfish hatred of Bush. All for the sake of ruling power.

I hate them all.

21. Anyone really surprised with Kerry's comments? Typical liberal disdain for the military. Just imagine what he really thought of and how he treated the enlisted personnel who had to serve under him in Viet Nam. Or was that Cambodia? Maybe Laos? Where was it he spent that Xmas?

Posted by: Tyler Durden on October 31, 2006 02:45 PM
22. What's this?: ROFLMAOBMGRMS

Does anyone who types L-O-L really laugh out loud when they are writing that? I find most times when someone writes that, whatever was being referenced really was not that funny. What's the worst is when L-O-L is written not in reference to what someone else wrote, but what that person is writing. Like, "Bush is such an idiot! LOL". In this case, what is written is NEVER funny enough to laugh out loud.

ROFLMAO takes this to another extreme, because anything worthy of rolling on the floor and laughing isn't in print on the internet. I can count the number of times I have *actually* been rolling on the floor and laughing on one hand (maybe two), but I know this 1) it was *never* because of something I've read on the internet and 2) I wasn't sober

23. When I heard the comment, I immediately discerned this from the statement: "If you do well in school, you'll do fine. If you're stupid, you end up in the military." I was amazed.

25. I am very disappointed of Sen. Kerry's comment today on our troops in Iraq. I may not be in agreement of what the President's decision in Iraq but I support all our troops in Iraq, I prayed for them everyday. I owe my freedom to them. Sen Kerry should apologize to them and their families.

Kerry is trying to spin it. He claims it was a botched joke against the President. He says he meant it was poking fun out George Bush's academic years. The only problem is that Kerry's GPA was lower than Bush's.

39. Not Bob - I'm not sure that if the libs take it anything will change. Both sides have not shown any promise with this issue. My take is that modern warfare and conflicts have changed dramatically - we will need to rethink how we respond to conflicts rather than sanctions and firepower

41. Hellpig - I know that it makes some sense to react and figure out how either side can shore up a majority to continue to lead and/or create policy. However, I think we are doing a great injustice posturing rather than applying more thought to our current terrorist issues. We need more cooperative dialogue on this issue and that includes voices and opinions outside of our government.

58. What an Idiot! But his words speak for the whole Democrat party, they are all idiots. They are all weak on defense, they want to raise taxes, give more money to worthless losers on welfare, ban guns, kill unborn babies, and let faggots get married. If we elect democrats, what in the hell is going to happen to this country? Well we pull out of the war in Iraq, terrorists will look at that as a win for them, and plot another attack on us. taxes will be raised on hard working middle class Americans, Welfare people will get more money every month to sit on their ass and do nothing but sponge off hard working taxpayers money. Gun rights will be challenged, Fagotts will be able to have the same rights as a married couple. Abortion will go on, with no challenges. Oh but they are all for animal rights, kill unborn babies , but don't kill a dolphin, it's just insane. It's unbelievable how many people vote democrat, with these kind of values. But if you think about it, if you take away the people who vote just to keep their welfare check coming, they are truley outnumbered by decent, normal thinking people, who vote Republican. Oh and by the way John Kerry's wife said in the 2004 election anyone who dosen't vote for her husband is an idiot. She owns the heniz ketchup company. I don't want to give them any money, If you don't too, don't buy heinz ketchup, or any of the products they produce, (Heinz ketchup, barbecue sauce, Heinz baby food, TGI Fridays, Boston Market, Ore-Ida potato products). If a few of us ban these poroducts we can put a dent in John Kerry's and his stupid Wife's pocketbooks. Our soldiers are bravely fighting this war , so that we don't have to. John Kerry says if you are smart you can have a good life, if not you end up in Iraq. What a Jerk. I hope he gets cancer and dies fast, he deserves it. but we can cut into his money by not buying his products, but beware , you have to read the back of the label of many products, heinz makes lots of stuff. Help me cut into the pocketbook of this fool. Thanks
