Dueling Polls

Yesterday's SurveyUSA poll shows Cantwell at 54%, McGavick at 41%

But yesterday's Wall Street Journal/Zogby poll shows Cantwell at 50%, McGavick 46%.

They can't both be right. Check out Brett Malin's Public Blog entry "The Reliability of Polling" for some insights.

1. This is why you can't just look at polls. They're all over the place. This is one more argument for participating in GOTV efforts this week. Because if the WSJ poll has any more credibility than the other one, GOTV efforts can make the difference in this thing. That's how John Thune beat Daschle. He said he never led in the polls. His side just did a better job of getting out the vote. Now hop to it, people!

2. Stefan,
Has anyone investigated the polling company that Ron Dotzauer has 33% ownership in. You provided a document several weeks ago that speaks to his ownership. How are they involved in, if at all, in sharing information, creating calling list, questions, and or participation in the actual polls. I'd be interested in knowing.
