Worth Reading

"Neo-neocon" interviews 7th district candidate Steve Beren here and here.   Having gone through a somewhat similar shift from left to right, she is sympathetic to Beren.   (As am I, though I was never as far to the left as either Beren or "neo-neocon".)

Here's Beren's site, for those who would like to know more.

(By the way, has Beren appeared on the Dave Ross show?  I ask that because I recall, with considerable disgust, how Ross treated Carol Cassady, who ran against McDermott in 2002 and 2004, and I wonder whether Ross would make the same kinds of sneers against someone with more experience in political debates.)

1. Steve Beren was on the Dave Ross Show for one hour on Monday October 16.

Also, see page B1 of today's Seattle Post-Intelligencer, which has an article by Kristen Millares Bolt on the 7th CD race and tonight's candidates forum, which is the third joint appearance for Beren and McDermott. The article is available online at http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/289864_mcdermottrace25.html

Finally, streaming video of the first joint appearance of the candidates (October 5 in Shoreline) is available on http://www.berenforcongress.com/youtube.html

2. Note: the streaming video of the Beren-McDermott joint appearance at Shoreline October 5 is only part #1 (opening statements). Part #2, which will include responses to questions and closing statements, will be up shortly.
