The Washington State Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development has yanked the "Say WA" tourism marketing slogan
What Say WA mostly evoked was not a discussion about the state's tourism attractions but about the slogan itself. Most opinions were not complimentary.Oh, well. Next time bureaucrats want to pick a slogan they should just survey the Sound Politics readers. They'd save a lot of money and get better results. Take note of the Viaduct Issue. In Today's Seattle Times article called - Mayor firm: No new viaduct:
"Sen. Mary Margaret Haugen, D-Camano Island, chairwoman of the Senate Transportation Committee, agreed. "I don't want to start studying anything more. It's time to put money into building something," Haugen said.
Oh Really...........
Voters prefer a new viaduct to a more expensive tunnel by a 2-1 ratio.
Read it all here, it is quite an article on another massive cost overrun project.
This one will make the Boston Big Dig look like Chump Change.

Posted by: roosi trey on October 16, 2006 07:28 AMthen, i want a (new) tax on Seattle real estate ("only 1% & it's for the children") to fund my class action suit against WA with me & every visitor to a dentist or doctor during the Say WA campaign.
suit basis: "Say WA" sounds too much like "Say ahhh" and I want punitive damages paid to medical personnel & patients hurt by the confusion of saying the wrong phrase just before a painful medical procedure.
i sense emotional suffering from linking "ahh" & "WA" & tourism--no wonder no one wanted to discover WA's sights. it reminded them of root canals & tonsils! i want justice!!
