1. Can you please ask AG McKenna to keep the state updated on the demise of the 1% tax limit approved by voters and now in jeopardy?

"KING County Superior Court Judge Mary E. Roberts struck down Initiative 747 property-tax limits last month(June 2006), paving the way for state and local officials to increase the tax burden by as much as 6 percent a year." Seattle Times 7-12-2006

Apparently the AG is working on an appeal to the WA Supreme Court to uphold the 1% limit. Meanwhile, our local tax collectors talk about the 1% limit as certain protection over rising property tax bills and fail to inform the public about details, like the fact the limit was struck down in King County!

Clark County's chief deputy assessor,George Simpson, wrote the local msm: "Don't panic over new tax assessments" .

"Herein lies a critical distinction: Increases in property values do not automatically create increased taxes."

"Tax revenues collected from the community, whether more or less than the previous year, are determined by the agencies and governments that set the budgets. These budgets are limited to 1 percent growth. "

One thing is certain, tax bills are going up by a lot more than 1%, and Taxpayers statewide should be better informed.

3. Someone should ask Rob is he agrees with Darci Burner and Mike McGavick that Dave Reichert should not be re-elected because he voted himself a pay raise after he voted to cut funding for vets.

Is it OK for the GOP challenger to run against GOP incumbants after the primary?

Just wondering.

4. It will be interesting to hear what McKenna has to say about the "Top 2" petition to the US Supreme Court.

5. Stefan--I really like Rob, but the meth "epidemic" is a total myth, and has been proven to be so.

I am disappointed he wades into that populist sewer of creating boogiemen to oow the sheeples, and a bit peeved that you are buying it too, instead of calling BS on it.

Geezer

Yeah. By all means. Ask the state attorney general to weigh in on a congressional issue simply to make a partisan point. Why not ask him what he thinks of William Jefferson's freezer full of cash while you're at it? You need to get a grip, Thor.

And I suspect the state and county law enforcement officials would disagree with your 'expert' opinion, Geezer.

7. If you want info on local drug problems, ask someone at the local Union Gospel Mission or the Salvation Army, not some high class politician who never met a druggie. Has he actually been down on the streets or the jails asking questions? Judges? Probation officers? Police Officers? Ha. Maybe he has recently interviewed their ex-wives or their mothers. Of course this is the city where druggies are given free housing by the government...

8. Nice job Monday night Stefan. The ChemE part of me wanted a few more details on the recipe of how to make the stuff, but otherwise a great show. :)
From AG-Rob's comments, it seemed that he has accumulated quite a depth of knowledge on the meth issue above and beyond legal responsibilities. In particular, the stories from the police, the foster parents, medical professionals, the children of acquaintances, and even those afflicted made for a compelling presentation.
