Moderate Democrat Sen. Tim Sheldon has coasted to victory over primary challenger Kyle Taylor Lucas. Boy do those "Progressive Majority" billionaires look like a bunch of dumbasses.
Anybody care to wager how soon Lucas will move back home to Tumwater?

We really need to start calling the local media to task for their one sided coverage of politics in this state.
Case in point: McGavicks 13 year old DUI was a major story - including a front page article - in Seattle Times every day for about a week and still gets mentioned. Based on length of articles, placement of articles, etc. it was impossible to miss this information. (I actually think I saw mention of it in the sports pages.)
Cantwell's questionable financial dealings with a lobbyist? Not a front page story. No follow-up. No mention in other parts of the paper.
McDermott's being mixed up with a U.S. group that was a front for islamic terrorists? That didn't make the cover page of the times and it was an INCREDIBLY slow news day. (Check out the front pages to see what did. The fact that a Pottery Barn is being replaced by a Barneys at Bellevue Square appeared above the fold on page 1!)
Much of the advertising in these papers is sold to small business owners, real estate developers, and others who fuel the economy instead of take from it. Perhaps it's time we all question where our ad dollars are going and ask to sit down with the publisher before we make further commitments before the election.
