King County Prosecutor Maleng Must Seek Death Penalty For Jew-Killer Haq

King County Prosecutor and putative Republican Norm Maleng must seek the death penalty for the Seattle Jew Killer Naveed Afzal Haq; anything less would be justice denied, including life in prison. Today's Seattle Times cites Maleng spokesman Dan Donohoe saying prosecutors will meet this week to decide whether capital charges - which could result in death or life imprisonment - will be sought in the murder case. According to news reports, Haq consciously chose to kill and maim Jewish civilian innocents in a Seattle Jewish group's office based on his foreign policy gripes with the U.S. and Israel. Heinous, and deserving of the ultimate sanction, if he's found guilty. Today's Times provides new details on what he said during the bloody attack.

"I want these Jews to get out. I'm not upset at people, I'm upset at your foreign policy," Haq said in a recorded conversation with police dispatchers that was detailed in court documents. "These are Jews and I'm tired of getting pushed around and our people getting pushed around by the situation in the Middle East. I just want us to get out of Iraq," Haq reportedly said. "I'm an American too, but I want our people out of Iraq."

Thus motivated, Haq broke into the offices of the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle, holding a gun to the head of 13-year old to breach security, and once in the Jewish federation, began randomly spraying bullets, killing one woman and wounding five more. Norm Maleng: you're center stage. Don't flub this one. Anything less than a strenuous prosecution seeking the death penalty for Haq sends a clear message that anti-Israel and anti-Jewish hate is a valid excuse for murder and attempted murder of innocent civilians in a Seattle office.

1. Frankly, the death penalty is not enough for this man. The death penalty will kill the man, but it will provide no further detterent to the ideology of hatred that is being preached in Islamic Mosques and has reached even WA Muslims.

It's going to take a much stiffer stance toward violent Islam to get the Jihad supporting governments to back down and realize that to continue supporting violence toward the West, they are risking their right to exist.

2. He is not going to get the death penalty. The media are already parotting the "bi-polar" theme, which will make up the foundation of his defense.

3. Yeah, if Andrea Yates is innocent of murdering five kids, then this guy will probably be innocent, and get the Nobel Peace Prize. And the NYT will do an expose on how he is misunderstood, but he's really a great guy.

4. I think we need to accept that muslims use their mosques as places to plot attacks. The government needs to be raiding mosques or else we will see more of these attacks.

5. Matt, I agree strongly with what you have to say. But I question the wording of the last few words your headline. Wouldn't "Hate Killer" or "Terror Killer" be more appropriate and less charged? At least two of the six women shot by Haq were not Jewish. If the wounds to the murdered woman had not been fatal, and instead one of the non-Jewish women had been killed, the crime committed by Haq would be no less terrible and no less deserving of the death penalty.

We also need to pray for the recovery of all five women who were wounded. I am sure the prosecution of Haq will proceed in the proper course of things. But our prayers for the wounded women still in the hospital can make a major difference at this point in time.

6. I wonder who trains some of these people. There is already a report that he sought mental health treatment earlier. So there you have the plausible issue of his having mental problems. Perhaps this is what is taught in the muslim centers that people like his father have formed.

We need to call this what it is. A terrorist attack. The lone wolf is still a tool of the Jihadists. The purpose is to strike terror into the population the jihadists hate, whether it be Israel or the United States as nations or anyone who isn't a muslim.

The politically correct establishment in Seattle will be incapable of calling this episode what it is, terrorism. They will attempt to excuse the behavior as mental illness and they won't even seek the death penalty. There will be hand wringing and pleas for understanding the poor plight of muslims who are impotent and put upon by all the jews in the world.

I am still waiting to hear from some moderate muslims that will condemn the behavior Hezbollah, Al Qeda, or any other terrorist groups without couching it with condemnation of Israel or jews around the world.

A number of years ago an editorial columnist for the King County Journal said that when the palestinian muslims wanted their children to live more than they wanted jews to die there could be a beginning of a dialog in the middle east. She was fired for her comments. The unwillingness for people to name what the problem is will allow it to continue.

Death penalty needs to used here.

9. Perhaps, we should bring back an old deterrence from "Old England" when they used the Gibbet, a cage that hung from the yard arm at the crossroads bordering a village as a strong reminder of what is done to heinous wrongdoers. This cage was made of flat wrought iron and of the size where a man could neither sit nor stand. He was left there for all who pass to see and a penalty was death for anybody who gave him food or drink. He was left there to suffer a long drawn out death and until there was another for replacement. He remained there as a smelly reminder as the birds picked the bones clean. DGD

10. I don't know if this has been pointed out yet, but the shooter's father works at Hanford.

From This NYT article:

"His mother, Maureen Hales, said she believed that the Haqs were originally from Pakistan and that Mr. Haq's father, Mian Haq, was an engineer who worked at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation."

11. "decide" about the death penalty? the fact that we "have to decide" tells me reams about our whimpy modern p.c. society; afraid to put the hammer against the anvil for fear of blisters or callouses;

maybe we LIKE to be victims these days; for the alleged perp (if guilty)? i say the Big Bee Sting; for his ilk? wiretaps and watching; HE did it; not us at large; not society; not government; his alleged defense argument: all of us are powerkegs; my retort: maybe--but i don't see regular explosions from other cultures in our civilized society here; try again, azzhole;

In my private requests, may God Bless the victims & families and their Community--I stand with you--

as for me? lock & load!

12. It's becoming clear where this case is all too quickly headed. The feds backed off - guess the victims have no civil rights. The two local tabloids are building an insanity defense. And don't forget the course Maleng took with the Ridgeway case.

Still haven't heard from Sims. He's probably dusting off and tweaking the glowing and lauding comments he and Gossett made when James Earnest Thompson aka Ahmed Bilal aka James Ujaama became better known to the public.

13. It must be the death penalty. Anything less than the death penalty will be seen as capitulation to the Islamofascists, which is what the shooter is. If he gets off with a long prison sentence, it will be seen as a sign of weakness, just like when the Danish forfeited freedom of speech and retracted the cartoon they ran showing Mohammed with a bomb in his turban and gave the victory unnecessarily to the Islamofascists. The Danish submitted to radical Islam - get the message ?

If the ACLU (American Criminal Liar's Union) tries to step in and interfere with due process - and administration of the death penalty, perhaps they should be prosecuted. It will be one more they have lived up the earned title as "the terrorist's best friend".

14. Death Penalty? NO!

It is society's fault. Had this troubled young man taken sensitivity training from the City of Seattle or King County, none of this would have happened.

I blame our elected officials.

16. I like that idea - "stop the cycle of hate". Remove Haq from the genepool and we eliminate that particular cycle.....outright!

Thanks for the suggestion!

17. , Former Senator Gordon probably knew of concerns of Sleeper Cells in the Tri-Cities last year.

As for the Tri-Cities, "You're a very special community, of course," when it comes to fighting terrorism.

This is a very interesting statement from someone in the know isn't it?

We in Washington seem to be under more danger than the politicians are letting on, aren't we it seems.

Ron Sims obviously knows of the danger. He doesn't go anywhere without armed guards.

I wonder if he will give the same protection to all the Jews in Seattle?

20. ladies & gents--watch this case closely--

the real nature of your elected officials and others charged with protecting you will come out; who was a hawk? who was the pandering excuse-laden pimp? who was there only for the limelight? who was run by the trial lawyers or psyc lobbyists? who spoke the hard truth with balls?
it's a sad reason for a test, but we will truly see real natures come out; take good notes, voters;

and NEVER NEVER forget the names of those who suffered & died! don't let this fade into history; make a donation in their names, plant a tree or whatever you feel is right;

27. May I suggest that the state expedite proceedings against Mr. Haq. He should be convicted by Labor Day and justice rendered on Yom Kippur. A suitable punishment for Mr. Haq ( and deterrent for his sympathizers) would be to boil him alive in lard and send him to the afterlife as history's largest pork rind. For his crimes last Friday justice demands nothing less. His only value now is as a warning to others.
