Axis of Evil (II)

Darcy Burner gazing admiringly at her mentor, Baghdad Jim McDermott.

The photo was originally posted as part of this blog entry from the "Northwest Progressive Institute", which reports on the Burner/McDermott mutual-admiration-fest at which the photo was taken. For some reason the photo was pulled from that blog post, but at this writing the photo is still posted on the NPI website.

1. The old boy sure crossed the line here (again). Hopefully, the Rs can take it and run. If Reichert gets in trouble, I hope he pulls out this photo, but I suspect he will win comfortably, anyways.

2. Reporterward: Axis of Evil is appropriate. McDermott meets with dictators often and he can't even say the Pledge of Allegiance right. (His excuse about the Pledge goof was pathetic). Don't forget it's people like him and Ms. Burner that wake up one day and try to figure out how the latest Hitler-type got into power. Hitler was a product of the socialist thinkers, which is what McDimwit and Burner are.

Anyone here good with PhotoShop? I think creating a magazine cover with this picture would be good. Something like "Today's Communist" or "Lunatic Monthly".

3. All Reichert has to do now is run that picture, and I imagine the race is his easily.

4. burdabe, if you have a link to the goof pledge I would sure love to see it. I missed it before and would like to see what the old boy said and his lame excuse. Thanks.

You will enjoy how Mr. "I Love Castro" tries to explain his bad behavior. Too bad the lemmings in this area will continue to vote for this doofus just because he is a "Democrat". Yet another reason to break the public school monopoly so people can learn to think.

10. Reportward:
Yes, I agree with you. Axis of Evil gives them too much power and credibility and they have neither. I will offer up Axis of Ineptitude, Axis of Extra Terrestrials or Axis of Incompetence. Anyone else?

11. Nice work, Clouseau!

I presume you call him Baghdad Jim because he was one of the few Congressmen who actually understood that city well enough to know what would happen if we tried to occupy that country without allies and a reconstruction plan.

12. Too much make-up. Why is she always hanging out with the 7th District crowd? Where are the eastside supporters? Wouldn't that help her cause? Trust me, photos with Jim McDermott aren't going to sway the more conseravtive at home moms in Sammamish.

13. Reporterward, thanks for the kind words of support, but I must confess that I stole the line from a couple of years ago when Axis of Weasels was used to refer to the weasels that denounced the Iraq invasion in 2003 (leaders of France, Germany, and Belgium).

Speaking of the French, doesn't the cotton candy debutante look French? And speaking of small furry animals...that admiring glance, why, it looks like Muskrat Love!

14. No the~it, we call him Baghdad Jim because he is one of those traitorous types that seem to have never met a tyrant or a dictator that he didn't like (or maybe he thinks being a brownie-boy for despots will earn him a pass when head-chopping time comes).

Sure is a good thing that we occupied that country with allies and a reconstruction plan. It is too bad that Dhimmicrats are too damn dumb to see it (how do you lamers even function?!)

15. There's no doubt about it, Darcy Burner is aligned with the extreme left. While that might be interesting if one were applying for the job of representative for MoonBat Seattle or Portland, it's just not going to work for the 8th CD.

16. Interestingly, though, McDermott is the only Washington House Democrat who is not on Darcy's endorsements list on her web page. Smith, Inslee, Larsen, Dicks, and Baird all are.

Is Darcy being at an event with McDermott really more likely to cause damage than Reichert hosting an event with Gingrich?

Well, it seems like that to you mainly because you have no clue about the Middle East. The reality is that McDermott was one of the few Congressman who had the foresight to realize that if we tried to invade Iraq in the way that we were planning, we would not be making ourselves safer. He was trying to find ways to avoid war, which he correctly knew would help bolster al Qaeda and increase instability in the region. I just find it particularly odd that since his actions have been justified with hindsight, that people still believe in these silly notions about him being an appeaser.

Sure is a good thing that we occupied that country with allies and a reconstruction plan. It is too bad that Dhimmicrats are too damn dumb to see it (how do you lamers even function?!)

With all due respect, what in god's name are you talking about? Do you see reconstruction happening in that country? Do you see a democracy flourishing over there? There's an intense civil war brewing there with large numbers of individual militias carrying out their own forms of justice and retribution. The amount of violence and torture going on there is staggering. This year alone, there have been 6000 murders in Baghdad, many at the hands of Shiite militias who have some representation in the elected government.

What's happening over there is a serious situation, and it requires that Americans start recognizing the reality on the ground and stop making excuses for this idiots who created this mess. There is no tooth fairy, alphabet soup, it's time to grow up.

18. thehim

What are you talking about? You forgot to mention the 100's of thousands slaughtered at the hands of old Saddam himself, his war that killed 1M, his kicking out of UN WMD inspectors and years of non-compliance to UN sanctions, and your hero, Clinton looked the other way.

Yes, the same billy who looked the other way when a million Rwandans floated down the river 12 years ago.

You need to grow up

Posted by: bobk on July 22, 2006 10:31 AM
19. BobK,
Is any of that an excuse to get our Army trapped in the Middle East without a strategy for getting out? The fact that Saddam was a tyrant was not an excuse to make America less safe or to eliminate the growing leverage we had to create more success stories like Libya. Take a look at what's happening to the Cedar Revolution in Lebanon right now to see what's happening to those who struggle to take on terrorism head on. Without a strong U.S., our allies in that region are getting trapped by the growing extremism.

And by the way, where on earth do you get the notion that Bill Clinton is my 'hero'? Do you have some bizarre notion that I feel the way I do because I pledge fealty to Democrats? I didn't vote for Al Gore in 2000. I didn't vote for Christine Gregoire in 2004. I'm far from a party loyalist, I'm someone who knows what happens when people start believing things because they want to believe them, rather than the result of careful analysis.

No one anywhere doubted the fact that Saddam Hussein was a threat to his people and needed to be removed, even Jim McDermott. When you wrap your head around that, and the fact that those who were trying to avoid a war in Iraq in 2002 and 2003 weren't Saddam sympathizers, but students of history who knew what would lie ahead. This administration told fairy tales about what they'd be able to accomplish in Iraq and you foolishly believed them. Get over it. At some point, you need to stop listening to the people who keep being wrong all the time.

24. Oh, sorry Mr. Rumsfeld, didn't mean to bring you into this.

25. thehim, OK, for arguments sake, please tell us what you would do, other than wet your pants and fill your drawers.

You claim to have not voted for Al Gore in 2000, or the Queen in 2004. Did you vote for someone else, or not vote? I thought so, please put down your crack pipe and participate in society.

Saddam defied 16 UN resolutions. You love to bash the Bush administration, so please tell us what would you do differently in Iraq? What would you suggest we do? Another UN resolution? You claim that the administration doesn't have a plan. Please enlighten us, what is your plan? I thought so, cut and run.

I'll be kind. You are an idiot, but I'll temper that comment because I can tell from your writing that you are young and stupid. You don't obviously don't understand the Arab culture. You, like most limp dick liberals, seem to think, that your imagined cultural and intellectual superiority will convince our enemies, i.e., the Islamofacists, will see the light and negotiate a surrender. What you don't understand is that our enemies prey on weakness, which is what you offer. I'll clue you in, they respect strength.

You live in La-La land. They hate us, and want to kill all non-Muslims. You think that you're so progressive that you can negotiate with them, and that they will be in awe of your progressivism. Perhaps for a second, then they'll slit your throat.

"Without a strong US..." What planet are you on? You seem to have fallen prey to the limp-dick foreign policy debate. If we're not stronger now than we have ever been because we're standing up to tyrants, then please enlighten us on how we can be stronger through negotiation and surrender.

You're right, we need to stop listening to people who are wrong all the time, and that starts with you.

Does that mean you'll quit posting on this site?
