Ron Sims on KUOW

King County Executive Ron Sims is on KUOW's Weekday at this hour, 10 -11 am. Listen online or at 94.9FM.

Sims is talking about the departure of Dean Logan and ongoing changes. Sims says that he's going to be "very, very cautious" about all-mail voting and "slow the process down deliberately". But hasn't yet talked about timing of the ordinance in the Council.

UPDATE: Just said that we'll vote all-by-mail in 2007, which suggests he still supports putting the ordinance to the Council for a vote this Monday. Call in or e-mail the program and ask to put the whole ordinance on ice until he has a leadership team in place to implement it.

1. Honestly I think that we should have all-email voting. It would save a lot of money and it would ultimately be more accurate.

Of course there are problems, like not everyone has internet access... but maybe we could set up laptops/computers around the state.

2. Gerald,

Good point. We need to save money by using the "All Sims" model of collecting votes. He has been stalwart in his thriftiness and saving the taxpayers money whever he can.

(I'm kidding too)

3. Yeah. We could REALLY save money if we just forego elections all together.

Just kidding three.

4. I think that the council should make RONNY BOY run the next primary and general elections with only the help of the staff (what is remaining that is) to help him.

If he thinks that we don't need an elected auditor, and only a ronny puppit, then let Ron do the Job. My Boss knows how to perform my duties in my absence, lets see how KC RON does!!!

And I am NOT KIDDING LOL

5. And when the First Vote by mail is filled with error and quagmire, Soundpolitics will get the blame because we caused Dean Logan to leave. I can see it now. Piss away Millions more tax dollars on the most expensive Vote by mail scheme, then blame us for it's failures.

6. Let Ron Sims run the elections and call in the FBI to investigate them and watch them indict Sims and prosecute him for electioneering and voter fraud - not kidding about what would happen if the FBI actually investigated...

7. But Ron Sims already *is* running the elections.

He decides who votes [dead, felons, imaginary friends] and who doesn't [overseas military, conservatives, etc..].
