I'm busy for the next several days with other commitments, so my own blogging will be lighter than it has been lately. Not that you'd necessarily notice, with all the excellent posts from my fellow contributors. And to help build the momentum to oppose Deanron's mail-only voting scheme, I've invited a couple of guest bloggers to discuss this important topic -- from the right, Jonathan Bechtle of the Evergreen Freedom Foundation and from the left, Jason Osgood of Washington Citizens for Fair Elections. Jason and Jonathan helped organize this afternoon's event.
In other news, Congress.org has named Sen. Maria Cantwell the nation's 93rd most powerful Senator!
And in really other news, the latest Seattle Weekly reports on "Cops: In Love"
Although 'the gun belts can never come off,' two state troopers had a rendezvous in a governor's mansion guardhouse.
It's either that, or they grew up with role models like Bill Clinton who taught them that it's cool to have sex while on duty.

Posted by: Michele on May 17, 2006 09:07 PMAnyone out there really believe there are 40 other Senators more powerful than Hillary?
Although I would have thought Cantwell would be in the 95-98 range, maybe above the doorstops from Hawaii and Kentucky but not higher.

Cantwell can be influenced, as she is up for election in November.
Just because WA is not that close to the Mexican Border doesn't mean it won't be affected. Wake up and look around and see how many more Hispanics there are around - but of course - the authorities are not allowed to ask their citizenship status - what a friggin joke. The silent invasion will continue, unless the politicians understand that the people are pi**ed off about it.
