Whale murdered by religious fundamentalists

It turns out that Luna, the Orca whale killed by a tugboat propeller last week, was murdered by religious fundamentalists:

By 2004, Luna's playful bumping up against boats and floatplanes was considered a serious hazard.

Fisheries officials devised a plan to have him relocated down the coast toward Victoria in an effort to have him reunited with his pod.

The mission was abandoned after local First Nations protested. They used canoes and drums to lure Luna away from the scientists who were trying to capture him for the move.

The Mowachaht-Muchalaht believed Luna embodied the spirit of their dead chief.

I'm deafened by the silence of those who claim that its the Christians who threaten the environment.

1. Because Luna became so used to human contact, what should have happened was for the poor whale to be relocated to an aquarium.
That might sound blasphemous to the Free Willy crowd but it would have been the only solution if people really cared about saving the poor animal's life.

3. Ya know, the DFO up in Canada, along with other governmental groups of that socialist country, are not the friends of the First Nations up there, and I applaud the First Nations people up there for screwing with the canucks every chance they get.

Maybe if they keep it up, the Canuckistani's will stop their COINTELPRO-like activities against the indians.

Anyway, Back on actual topic - the DFO was trying to capture the whale and pen it. The indians were trying to lure him out to open water, away from people.

I'll let readers decide which is the more noble way... :0)

4. What happened is a shame. This whale should have been and could have been reunited with its pod, like Springer. The DFO sacrified reason to irrational mysticism and political correctness.
