Courthouse Kerfuffle
King County Executive Ron Sims is feuding with the County Council over the relocation of the Executive's office. Sims covets the view penthouse in a new 13-story county building that is slated for completion next year. Members of the Council want the Executive to work in the Courthouse along with the rest of the county's elected leadership.
[Councilman Bob] Ferguson, a Seattle Democrat, is the lead sponsor of legislation that would stymie Sims' plans, filling the new building with other agencies. Meanwhile, Ferguson said, the council will consider various options for Sims, including putting him in a section of the courthouse's 10th floor now occupied by the convict work-release program.
The idea of placing Ron Sims in a convict work-release program sounds pretty funny, but I'm not sure if it's appropriate. I thought work release was for convicts who show promise of reforming themselves and becoming productive members of society.

1. How about moving Ron “tax to the max” Sims into one of the $650,000 self-cleaning bathrooms downtown... he would be in is element…
2. Don't they have a spare closet in the basement they could use? This man's arrogance is just astounding. I am surprised the demos are standing up to him. Usually they don't hesitate to start licking his shoes the moment he appears with another harebrained scheme/announcement.
3. I think whatever office space Ron Sims gets he should only be allowed to use 35% of it.
5. Seems to me that Sims backed Ferguson's opponent in the last election, so all hail Bob Ferguson! The guy actually rides the bus, and has some common sense ideas. Sounds like a mild case of DINO (Democrat in name only) to me! Go for it Bob!! You got my vote last time, and will get it again with this type of leadership.
6. They could give him a desk in the corner of Dean Logan's office.
7. ..and force him to follow Palouse's suggestion at 10:44.
8. If Ron wants to be in a big shiny new building downtown, can't we make some room for him at the new Seattle Public Library?
9. Someone needs to tell Ronnie it's "King County Executive, Ron Sims," not "King Ron Sims, County Executive." Seems he's jealous of the Queen.
10. He should be subject to the same anti-development rules that he gives to us "commoners"
11. Why not put him in in a room down in the new, new bus tunnel since he is so keen on mass transit.
12. ..better yet, Jeff B., how about we devote one entire car on the Sound Transit train to his use, and he can ride around all day long in his "moving office".
13. Howsyoudoin'
Maybes we could make Ron more a part of the Sound Transit Tunnel? Like Jimmy Hoffa and N.Y.Giant Stadium.
Could they deliver his mail in vote their?
Forgetaboutit.
14. Howsyoudoin'
Yo Phlash
Yous may think its a good idea to move Ron Sims to "our" business complex at the $650,000 out houses but we dont want that type of a criminal eliment to move in. "NIMBY"
Forgetaboutit.
15. 850k a year for his office, and a limo and driver, It must be nice. Bob Ferguson will roll over to the whims of Sims, he will get his new penthouse, at massive taxpayers expense I might add.
16. I think I like Tacoma Flashe's idea best!!
17. Remember Ron's pre-election promise to "save the whales" on Puget Sound? Move his office to the historic ferry KALAKALA and watch him run aground. Again.
18. I just got my property tax assessment in the mail today. Now I understand why it is so high.
