When writing about the ongong crisis in King County elections, I find myself using the phrase "Ron Sims and Dean Logan", pronounced "RonSimsAndDeanLogan", as if they were one person, which they essentially are. Dean serves at Ron's pleasure and merely implements Ron's policy of obliterating any semblance of honesty and integrity in the elections office. It just dawned on me that it in the interest of brevity and simplicity, I should just call Dean and Ron "Deanron", as in the sentence: "Deanron is to elections accounting as Enron is to corporate accounting".

I was reminded of this during the last couple days while I was down in Oly attending the yearly Farm Bureau Legislative Days:
On Tuesday just before noon while doing a bit of amateur lobbying in support of a bill the FB is backing, I happened to be transiting the area of the 'sundial' between the 2 main Legislative office buildings, when what did I see:
Over behind the back corner of the JAC Building, none other than the 'Ron' half of Deanron; in apparent deep conversation with Senator Adam Kline of the Seattle 37th District... and who is of course (sadly) Chair of the Senate Judiciary committee and on the Government Operations and Elections Committee....
I was in a hurry to get some things done before the Senate Ways & Means committee met at 13:30 that day, so I didn't hang around. Kind of regret now that I didn't: Wouldn't that have been a fun conversation to get a piece of....

Corruption and gravity are two powerful forces impacting our lives every moment of every day. One results from society lawmakers, the other is a natural force created by the laws of nature.
The forces are barely discernible as people acclimate to gravity and corruption from time of birth.
Although the forces are universally observed, the degree of power is not equally distributed. In some areas the forces may be greater than in other areas. For example gravity is reduced on some planets and increased on others. The force of gravity tends to be directly related to the size/mass of the body. Gravity is greater on larger/denser planets and less on smaller planets.
Interestingly, corruption demonstrates the same quality. The force of corruption tends to increase/decrease in direct relationship to the size or mass of the corrupted society. Washington State clearly demonstrates this relationship, as does Chicago, Washington D.C. and other areas of the USA. Corruption is also powerful in Russia, China and countries ruled by despots where frowning people are observed standing stooped shoulder under the weight of corruption dependent on government handouts.
Gravity is silent. Regarding corruption, the silence is deafening. Gravity forces things down. It requires a great deal of energy to break free of gravity. During the last century people have designed a means of travel defying gravity called aviation. This means of travel allows people to enjoy the freedom of actually flying to distant lands for business or pleasure. Corruption forces people down in the same manner as gravity. However in spite of, or maybe because of communication improvements during the last century, corruption has not diminished as one may expect. The forces of corruption have actually increased aided and abetted by the communication industry know as main stream media. People actually subject themselves to high doses of corruption by sitting in front of a communication device called television and viewing mindless idiocy for hours, obstinately called entertainment and news.
Recently a new form of communication, called blogging, became popular in society. Blogging serves as an electronic replacement for conversation experiences on the “front porch” of yesteryear. It has not been clearly demonstrated that blogging will have the same effect on corruption as aviation had on gravity. But it provides one with the freedom to express different ideas and perspectives in conversational form to a greater mass of society.
Governments are afraid of this new form of expression as it upsets the forces of corruption. It is expected that blogging and other forms of electronic expression (radio talk shows) will experience government intervention to reduce the impact of corruption.
Both forces may be lethal and require a great deal of resources to overcome or counter. If one jumped off a ten story building they will most probably die. People have also been known to experience stresses and death resulting from corruption. The people who live in a society under a high degree of corruption usually die younger than people in a society with a lower degree of corruption. Corruption may be selectively focused based on religion, race or attitude or some other demographic or human trait. Germany during the last century suffered powerful corruption based on religion. Russia suffered powerful corruption based on attitude. People that disagreed with the Communist rulers were slain by the millions. One may view a statue of a Russian Communist Ruler responsible for the deaths of millions in Ballard, a section of Seattle. Seattle is a city also ruled by corrupt government, perhaps this is why the statue stands. China suffered corruption based on religion, race and attitude and other human traits. Tibet a country recently occupied by China suffered damage associated with corruption. During the last century the deaths of hundreds of million people resulted from corruption. These deaths change the mortality tables, more so than smoking, or many other human maladies that the nannies attempt to twart by restictive laws which ultimately add to corruption.
The ultimate end of gravity results in swallowing of the mass and creating a black hole. It is theorized that when enough mass is swallowed the result is a big bang and the regeneration of a new galaxy. The same may be said of corruption. When enough society mass is swallowed up into a black hole a big bang occurs resulting in a renewed society or country. Alas, history also records this ultimately begins the next cycle of corruption. It seems that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.
A stimulating, though dangerous demonstration of both forces together, gravity and corruption, may be observed by shooting an arrow though an apple placed on the head of a corrupt ruler (the Queen Washington or the Simszar of King County.) Please be careful in aiming for if you missed and inadvertently pierced the head of the corrupt ruler, corruption may be significantly reduced resulting in decompression that may very well damage the lives and careers of the corrupt lawgivers and power elites. This may prove to be dangerous as the people are not prepared to live in corrupt free state which closely resembles a state of weightlessness achieved in a gravity free environment. Gravity on the other hand may affect the flight of the arrow, but will not change intensity regardless of the mark you hit.
