Today's Seattle Times editorial: "Live! Battle of the beefsteaks".
Monday, U.S. beef returned to Japanese groceries for the first time since the country banned it after the first case of U.S.-detected mad-cow disease was discovered in late 2003.This is the first Seattle Times editorial that I can recall which is about cow products and brain-wasting disease, but I've read many columns on the Times editorial page which have caused me to think of cow product and/or brain-wasting disease.
...
Japan was among 50 countries that banned U.S. beef after a Holstein in Mabton, Yakima County, was found to have the brain-wasting disease, bovine spongiform encephalopathy.
UPDATE: And speaking of brain-wasting disease, there is Lance Dickie's Friday column in praise of the Lake Forest Park "peace" protestors, who still gather every Saturday morning in support of the terrorists who oppose the liberation of Iraq and its free elections, or something.

And that is all you need to know about just what side they're on. But don't you dare question their patriotism.
Posted by: 5thColumnCure on December 30, 2005 11:47 AMAnti-democracy or anti-Bush protesters generally fall into one of three categories:
1. Unemployed
2. Guilt-ridden draft dodgers (legal or illegal)
3. The elderly (often guilt-ridden parents of No. 2) looking to pad their resumes with good works before moving on
Whenever I drive by them, I roll down my window and yell the old standard: "Get a job!"
