Thurston County Prosecutor Ed Holm is not doing his job:
More than a year has passed since disbarred Thurston County attorney Alan J. Martin was accused of voting in violation of state law. No charges have been filed. Then again, what would one expect from an Olympia lawyer whose philosophy of justice reads like it was lifted from an Evergreen State College urinal stall? Posted by Stefan Sharkansky at November 15, 2005 11:46 AM | Email ThisIt's been almost a year since Eli Sterling, founder of the immensely popular Procession of the Species, was accused of misusing $14,000 in city of Olympia funds. Sterling has said he believed he was following city rules with regard to expenditures. Again, no charges have been filed.
More f^%&ing "I'm not accountable for my own actions" leftist drivel...

-Asking businesses to leave (if they don't like your business model)
-Forcing contractors to provide health care for same sex partners or not at all.
To an outsider, this is crazy town, but here in Olympia, it's business as usual.
Posted by: Andy on November 15, 2005 12:06 PMYou may as well just put up a sign at the county line announcing that Thruston County "feels you pain".
It even makes me appreciate Maleng and his lack of prosecution of Mr. Logan and his gang of vote makers (er...counters)
Posted by: Foothills Freak on November 15, 2005 12:18 PMHad to dig deep for that one, didn't you? Have you thought about maybe coming up with a current, local example that may be relevant to this discussion?
Posted by: Gary on November 15, 2005 03:21 PMDon't ya just love how, in the lefty worldview, we're not responsible for anything we do, but we are can be held fully liable for the actions of others which are beyond our control?

I'm shocked and saddened that you are representing me as the Thurston County prosecuting attorney. From your statement on your home page, you really should be teaching a social engineering class or a psychic website and I'm sure you fall under the category of a judge who legislates from the bench. But I shouldn't be surprised, because this is the exact platform that the liberal left is pushing. Your statement has no teeth, no backbone and no real clear fairness or equality that every person should have who comes before you. You might consider the example of giving someone welfare checks because you feel their pain, rather than helping them understand how good it is when they work for their living and that in turn rewards them with self-esteem. When we reduced the welfare system, this was what happened. Or try applying your theory in a drug rehab unit.... it won't hold water and people will continue to go through the system and learn nothing.
You might consider another, quite unique theory of justice - Go back and read our nation's articles and constitution so you can return to the fundamentals about our legal system which was created to make decisions on what is right and wrong and HOLD PEOPLE ACCOUNTABLE. Only then will our people understand how to behave. The law was created by God to help us humans see right and wrong. The law will never work if it's based on a touchy-feely psychic analysis of the person.
If you were to revisit our original laws and especially the Bible, then justice wouldn't be so "excruciatingly difficult" for you to legislate.
You will not be getting my vote and I plan to circulate what is a pretty ridiculous statement to everyone I know. You must go back and read it for yourself. Then I sincerely would ask you to pray for guidance, knowledge and wisdom from above.
As for Mr. Holm, his mission statement sounds like weasel words for "pay me big bucks to do nothing". To excuse breaking the law because of social circumstances is pathetic. To bad the state bar doesn't test on common sense or insist would-be lawyers spend time with victims and their families. Gag!
