Canvassing Bored

I attended most of this afternoon's canvassing board meeting. More weird things to report later. Oy vay. All I'll say for now is we're lucky there aren't any close races this year.

Former Superintendent Bill Huennekens was resurrected and was filling in today for the acting Superintendent. You may recall this last line from the anonymous staff survey taken by the task force last summer

Mr. Huennekens can't conduct any kind of meeting. We can all tell when he either is bored or doesn't comprehend something by his constant playing with his Blackberry
Sure enough, here is Blackberry Bill at this afternoon's meeting

Come to think of it, the members of the canvassing board look a little bored too

L-R Councilmember Dow Constantine, Dean Logan, Dan Satterberg

1. The Blackberry is his crib sheet. When he doesn't know what to do he emails Mr. Big of the operation for instructions. He obviously is in over his head, and can't make a decision or statement without first clearing it with his handlers.

2. The second photo is Dean Logan winning a bet by proving he can spell "fraud".

3. Actually, Huey, I thought the second photo was showing Dean Logan with a copy of state election law ---he's shown crossing out all the election laws he doesn't like and has no intention of enforcing.

4. No close races this year? Gotta disagree.

For Woodinville City Council, Hank Stecker challenged incumbent Randy Ransom with a platform of, basically, "Hey, can we stop mindlessly and spinelessly doing whatever Ron Sims and the developers want?" Hank was up eight votes at the end of Tuesday. Now he's up by one.

5. ...or maybe he's putting the stray black mark on some '08 ballots himself near the Gregoire name in order to get a head start on padding her vote totals.

6. Of course they're bored....

The fraud has already been committed....The ballot boxes have already been stuffed and they really have no reason to be there...

They have no reason to watch the other county tallies this time....They made sure that all statewide initiatives went their way by huge margins...No messing around with the threat of close races.....NO ONE IS WATCHING THIS TIME.

This time the fraud was incredibly easy for them.....No wonder Ron Sims felt comfortable making only *one* campaign commerical....Why waste money if it's a sure thing?

In many ways - this election was more important to this state's future election security than last year's Governor's race....and we were ripped off again! King County decides the fate of the state's election outcomes. If Ron Sims retains his position as Executive, the state elections will continue to be manipulated to the interests of the liberals...by fraud.

We're screwed...They're bored.....May God help us!

7. Two words: Cascade County.

8. I see this information at the link you provided above:
-------
Nov. 10, 2005, 2 p.m.
First Post-Election Meeting : Review preliminary abstract of votes. Resolve any special-case ballots and issues of voter intent requiring Board’s determination. Consider voter registration challenges submitted within thirty-day period prior to the election.
-------
I wonder what voter registration challenges will be discussed, if any? Everybody knows, of course, that the KCGOP challenges that met that 30 day period are all nonsense, so I guess those will all be thrown out, baby and bathwater together.
And wasn't there a special-case ballot regarding a new move-in from California who hadn't lived in Washington long enough to vote for either a Republican or a Democrat ticket? I seem to remember reading about that, somewhere...

9. They are bored because they have to wait for all the other precincts to report so they will know how many ballots they need to manufacture before certifying.

10. Nice picture of the "3 Blind Mice". I can not believe incompetence is awarded in this state. Gee, if we lower the bar to 55%, the we will raise the number of people that pass. Why not get rid of grades all together. Comrades, we are all the same. Ron and Queen Christine will take care of us. Please leave your genitals at the door though........

11. Mathwizard Dean doing some long division and some back of the envelope math on how to make the number of ballots reconcile with the number of voters.

"lessee... keep those hidden and lose some of these other ones... yep- that'll do it! Just keep some provisionals handy in case any races are close. Make sure they aren't PO box provisionals, they're on to us on that gig."

12. Did you ask them to place you into a new precinct with and Inspector that had a F'n clue what their Oath meant, what their job was and what the laws require?

Posted by: gs on November 10, 2005 10:31 PM
13. Sure enough, 'ol Bill really is shown there, "playing with his Blackberry".

14. Btw, whatever happened to our Castro-admiring friend, Dwight Pelz? How come he's not on the Canvassing Bored anymore?

Posted by: Misty on November 10, 2005 11:26 PM
15. Well, it certainly looks like we're back down to the short strokes again: posting photos of the hated opposition so we can make snide comments about them.

Hope you can come up with something more enlightening that this for your next act Shark. Otherwise, we may have to cancel your show.

A special thanks to Deborah; you never let us down with your fantasies of fraud and conspiracy. If only the Dem's were that clever....

UnkieWitzlos:
Well, it certainly looks like we're back down to the short strokes again: making snide comments about posted photos of the "hated opposition" that commented snidely about. Yeah, that's really big of you. I'm so glad you feel above the "hated opposition" that you have to stoop to their level.

17. Unkl,

With your show in town there will always be plenty to talk about! I might add that while working in the polling place I heard lots and lots of untrust of these people, and many people just came in to find out which way their vote would best be counted. Absentee or at the Poll. Many came in and said "I don't want to vote absentee, I want my vote to nbe counted"

Your folks are in charge!

Fix the mess!

Then we will quit looking at these idiots!

18. pseu:

As usual, I don't have clue as to what you're trying to to say, care to give it another go?

gs:

Look at these idiots all you want, stare at them til you're blind. Just don't hold this up to be some sort of profound political dialogue. It's not.

Shark has descended into some sort of funk (too bad, I kinda liked the guy despite his right wing, wacko views) and he can't seem to pull it out. It's a tragic waste of talent.

19. Stop the Fraud...I think your analysis is correct.

Andy...no long division, nobody at KC elections can count...as evidence view KC certification documentation. simple addition and subtraction to not add up.

20. To quote Stephan: "All I'll say for now is we're lucky there aren't any close races this year."

I rightly ask: "How do you know?"

21. agreed, CASCADE COUNTY

22. A special "Thank You" to all you veterans today!

PS: We'll try and make sure they count your votes next time!

Posted by: GS on November 11, 2005 10:27 AM
23. AMEN!! I want to thank vets for their sacrifices to keep us free. And I should know as my dad is an Army vet. I've had relatives that were privates,An ambulance driver (died in an ambulance crash)and an Uncle who was a Mess Cook in WW2!(recently passed away in his 80's.)

24. Photo caption: "Circus Clown College graduates new class." Q: why are these clowns STILL collecting paychecks? shame on you, King Co. voters!

Posted by: Jimmie-howya-doin on November 12, 2005 05:00 AM
25. Laurie, I read somewhere lately that there are
only 30 veterans of WWII that are still alive.
Anyone know if that is true? Wouldn't the boys
from Omaha Beach be proud of King Sims and his
ilk.

Posted by: mark on November 12, 2005 11:54 AM
26. mark,

There are far more than 30 veterans of WW2 alive today..(thousands +..)..And I believe I just read where there are a few thousand veterans of WW1 still kicking!

They just don't make them like that anymore....

27. By the way, nice cuff links and french cuffs on Councilmember Constantine. One can never be too dressed up when looking at dusty ol multiple ballots previously in the custody of King Ron Sims.
