Port of Seattle Commissioner Pat Davis was fined yesterday by the Public Disclosure Commission for campaign finance reporting violations. The complaint was filed by frequent Sound Politics commenter Richard Pope! More on Davis' violations here.
Davis has also been criticized for flagrant spending on Port travel junkets:
Davis' biggest bill was $8,490 on a Seattle Chamber International Study Mission to Berlin in 2000. Silver medalist was $8,280 for a 2002 trip that focused on "Barcelona's innovative collaborative approach achieving regional consensus on economic development."Wow. My wife and I went to Barcelona for our honeymoon and we had a fabulous time for a lot less than $8,280.
Meanwhile, Davis continues to defend the Port's property tax levy, while opponent Jack Jolley wants to do away with it.
