Sheriff Recount Results

Seattle police Lt. Greg Schmidt prevailed in the countywide recount in the Sheriff pirimary, beating Sheriff deputy Jim Fuda for second place and the right to have his ass handed to him by Sheriff Sue Rahr in November.

18 previously uncounted ballots were discovered in the recount.

1. My favorite part of this post is the last sentence of it.
sigh......

2. The most unfortunate part of it is that she will not be required to kiss it first.

3. It is interesting to note that the Seattle Times did NOT mention the additional 18 ballots found. The "recount" covered less than 10% of the ballots cast.

4. I can hardly wait until the Sims/Irons, I912 tax dump, etc etc. They'll be finding uncounted ballots until 2008! Or until they get the result they wanted!

I will assume that since the Accuvote machine counts the ballots at the polling sites, these were more of the notorious Sims Absentee (until he needs them) Mail in votes in a county with results any Bank(ruptcy) would be proud of.

5. This whole thing was an incredible waste of taxpayer money. "There oughtta be a law" that says if any one candidate receives more than 50% of the vote during the primary they automatically win (like they do with judge races). I mean, it's fine if Lt. Schmidt wants to make some sort of point but he's done that already. Get on with your life and let us get on with ours.

6. Mark,

We are the majority, but as you know they have the power.
The useful (and valuable) point to this (recount) exercise is as a "KC Elections" dress rehearsal for the Irons/Sims race.
Many questions ignored in this instance by Democrats are not being lost on the Republicans.
The systemic "cultural" problems within the KC Elections Administration as cited by Judge Bridges last Spring
have not improved; quite to the contrary.

It's as if they might say, "Oh well . . . just more loser R-E-P-U-B-L-I-C-A-N candidates. . . who cares?

The Democrats have us buried in their ready-made miasma of deluded pretenses of honesty and fair play.
The less demonstrable these problems become, the more complacent we will all become, in the assumption
that "all-is-well," even though the fox is inside the henhouse as we speak.

Stephan Sharkansky's stubborn vigilance is what we all need to emulate.
I can only hope the County has enough sane voters to put Irons well over the top.
With that, many of these issues will become history--at least until we (the majority) allow another Democrat to have their way.

7. Good point cocerning Irons!! I hope some voters are listening!

8. Recount a waste of money? Maybe- debatable-

HOWEVER- No. Schmidt's point HASN'T been made. Liberal written West Wing has some high points- and one of them was Rob Lowe describing a Republican candidate running in an impossible race. Nobody gets to win in his district w/out answering to the issues he feels are important.

Rahr and the rest of the establishment has to be accountable for the DV fraud that gets pulled daily by a busted system. The police force is a big cog in that wheel- albeit appointed commisioners are the other (bigger) hand forcing that wheel.

If you doubt the importance of Schmidt's presence in this race- I'll introduce you to a truck load of guys who, like Schmidt, get evicted from their own homes with no due process, no shred of evidence of violence- simply because the loophole exists to run up divorce costs for men by another $10-20k.

70% of cases going through our courts are divorce cases. Go figure on the importance of plugging a hole for fraud in that process.

9. "18 previously uncounted ballots were discovered in the recount."

I just saw Dean Logan on the news - saying that this latest ballot screw-up "Was a good thing" ??? Sigh.........

Logan is trying to give the public the impression that somehow by *finding* these additional ballots - it's a major improvement over the ballot screw-ups of the past....He wants people to believe that this is it! - There are no more ballots to be found.....BUT - we all know that when there are 18 uncounted ballots found from an election...there are more and more and more yet to be discovered.....

Of all of the counties in this state, King County knows better than to screw up like this again!
I hope the people of this county take this as a personal slap in the face by Ron Sims and Dean Logan.

Here we go again.....

10. Apparently horse butt thinks this is no big deal.

I do. Here's why:

#1. They were only found because of a partial recount.

#2. This proves that the bugs are not fixed.

#3. This sounds precisely like last year when King County "found" ballots at least 9 or 10 times.

11. Hey, BTW, did anybody note THIS King County GOP Council Caucus release from earlier this week on how f*&#$ed up King County Elections is?

12. Oh and THIS King County Journal editorial on the fraudit sounds like some guy from the Sound Politics Consortium wrote it... :-)

13. What do the committed few who are fed up with Democrat vote fraud in King County do until the rest of the voting public gets a clue? I'm tired of living in a county that will never get its act together, because it is not in the Dems' interest to do so. Is it time we townsfolk storm the County Building with pitchforks and torches to prove we are serious?

14. Here we go again...it's not even November yet, and it was only a partial recount. Is this a testimony to failed education in our state, that elections workers just can't count? My bank has processed alot of transactions for me in the last 20 years, and haven't made a single mistake in over a dozen years. KC elections cann't get it right even once.

15. Deborah,

Right indeed. The KC Elections "culture" is worse than before.
More is coming.
You can only hope . . . as do I.

16. I wouldn't be so quick to discount Schmidt. Frankly, he is a much more impressive and articulate individual than Rahr. I mean, really, there is no comparison. He beats her hands down if there were no gender political correctness involved.

17. THIS JUST IN! 10,000 more ballots were found
under Ron Sims' third cousins refrigerator.
Logan spokesperson says, "These ballots must be
counted!"

18. This was posted on a local newsgroup. While political sign theft is common, it is really really sad that the biggest fabricators of domestic violence data would come out portraying Schmidt as working to spread false information.

According to the DV industry franchise, quoting data taken directly from the Wa state Sheriff's stats on crime reports is not among the approved sources for DV data. It is much better to broadcast and rebroadcast anecdotal statistics that have niether been proven or challenged until people just believe that 1 in 3 men really are rapists/wife beaters.

NOTE TO RAHR's STAFF- when you have 65% of the vote, consider taking the high road.

----repost below----------------

I get off I-405 in Renton and pass City Hall to pick up 108th to Kent-Kangley Rd. I saw signs for Fuda, but I haven't seen ANY SIGNS anywhere for Greg. Were they put up in this area and taken down or are they concentrated in OTHER areas.

I think a lot of door knocking and telephone bank time needs to be put in between now and election time. I also think the fact that Raher worked with EDVP and the fact that EDVP currently has TWO pieces of false information on separate sites on their Web pages, and the QUESTION ASKED, "Is THIS the type of official you
want for your King County Sheriff?" Do you want an INDIVIDAUL for SHERIFF that has worked in the past with an organization that SPREADAND still spreads false information ABOUT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE?"
