Ballot Day

I'll be off at King County Archives today looking at absentee ballot envelopes. Won't be posting until later in the day.

In the meantime, here are some new Dean Logan curiosities to ponder --

1) Dean Logan has notified Ron Sims' nephew that his registration was challenged. The challenge was dated and postmarked on August 20, 31 days before the September Primary. Accordingly, Logan should have scheduled a challenge hearing before the Primary as per RCW 29A.08.840. Nevertheless, Logan is incorrectly handling the challenge as if it were made less than 30 days before the Primary, permitting the nephew to vote a challenged ballot in the Primary and punting the decision on eligibility to the canvassing board.

2) Dean Logan is still not trying very hard to clean illegally registered voters off the rolls (arguably committing a felony neglect of duty). See this letter from Bob Edelman to Logan and Logan's response.

3) Dean Logan is in violation of the Public Disclosure Act again, this time stonewalling King County GOP Chairman Michael Young

1. So, will a copy of Logan's letter make it to Ron Sims' nephew?

Posted by: HappyGoLucky on September 6, 2005 08:54 AM
2. I imagine that Dean the Keen will place a copy in the hands of Ron Sims, who will "deal with the situation accordingly."

Then Dean will walk away in smug confidence that he has performed to the satisfaction of his master.

3. Good home training. Good job training. Great value for our public salary dollar.

Say--where where did I put that customer comment card I had filled out for the elections folk?

4. The sheer determination to circumvent common sense and state elections laws is truely incredible. Can they split the hairs any finer, look the other way more often, or bend the intent and purpose of the law any further?

You have to admit this takes true talent and an impressive capacity to lie to yourself and others.

5. The following is a list of 82 people registered to vote at the Aloha Inn homeless shelter on Aurora Ave. Aside from the fact there are more people registered there then they have capacity there is little chance that any significant number actually still live there (and many have forwarding address's out of the area).

Most notable is the registration of Scott Morrow of SHARE who operates the shelter. In public testimony, under oath, to the City of Kirkland he provided an address (which did not exist) on Martin Luther King Jr Way.

I am sure we will find countless other over registrations at the other SHARE owned shelters.

7. As the keynote speaker said, last week, "One of the principles of ethics is:

Doing the right thing, even though the cost is more than you want to pay."

It seems a certainty that Sims and Logan do not want to pay the cost.. of a non-liberal having power in this state.

Then, I haven't seen any ethical behavior from that lot, yet, so this should come as no surprise.

Everyone, but them, seems to know they are way over the line.

They deserve the title, "criminal."

8. Coz--great!
I love the hypocracy of the SHARE guy. "Do what I do," right?!

See--this is exactly why conservatives are hated for their healthy suspicions of people holding cardboard signs at freeway ramps. Same is true for "election reform." It's just another 4-foot-away lap dance. Just another peep show with a broken viewer.

Posted by: Jimmie-howya-doin on September 6, 2005 02:31 PM
9. Hmmm...looks to me like Logan is obeying the letter of the law, and holding it up as a shield between himself and prosecution. This makes it impossible to judge his intent in doing so, because he can swear, truthfully, that he was following the law (and completely ignoring, or willfully suppressing, the idea of intent or actual effects of said law.)
So, I guess the only thing a court of law can prove is "purjury?" What a fine, law-abiding citizen he is! If only we had more people in high places like Dean Logan!

10. Shark: This matter should be forwarded to Norm Maeleng's office and cc'd to SOS and ASS Pres, Sam Reed - with a request for enforcement.

11. Is it just my imagination or is nobody reading this blog anymore. Other than a few mindless cheerlearders, no one seems to be posting.

Jimmy ---- you seem to know a lot about lap dances and peep shows. Is there something in your past you'd care to share with yus?

14. Unkl Witz:

Yet another logical fallacy from you. Reading > Posting. Try to figure out that equation. Stare at it really hard if you have to.

Posted by: Larry on September 6, 2005 05:42 PM
15. The rebuke of Witz's logic above should read 'Reading Posting' with the opposite less-than greater-than signs. The comments don't support that syntax, I guess. All the better - Witz would've needed this translation, I'm sure.

16. I have family in Cheney.......and the Mail carriers there are still small-town friendly.........

I'll bet if you asked a Cheney mail carrier about that address - he'd know exactly who lives there and for how long......

Dean Logan is purposely twisting the spirit of our state election residency laws to allow anyone - citizens or non-citizens - residents or non-residents to vote in our elections in an effort to dilute our legal votes! This crap has got to stop!

Posted by: Deborah on September 6, 2005 07:09 PM
17. Make up your mind Larry, is it less than or greater than? Either way, this blog is dying.

As I said above, other than brain dead cheerleaders like Deborah & Jimmie-how-the-hell-are-ya, no one posts here anymore......

18. unkl....

I think we decided that you are a miserable person...

You KNOW it's your liberal Democrat Party that is dying....Going down in flames! They can't spin or spiral or hoochy-coochy their way out of the election mess they're in.....

You may very well be among their last cheerleaders! Enjoy!

Posted by: Deborah on September 6, 2005 07:53 PM
19. Has anyone contacted the Cheney Free Press? Don't know how much "investigative" reporting they do anymore, but someone might be interested.
Deborah, I went to Junior High and High School in Cheney! Go Blackhawks!

20. UNKL

We are here to read. It is an unknow to your type to read and not always speak. We don't have that liberal condition which requires us to speak every time we read. We speak when we actually have something to say. But we read every single day.

Elections are coming.......

Changes are in the wind.....

I feel a big breeze coming this way.....

Watch for a Tsunami.......

21. Given the record of KC elections, what is the chance that nephews ballot will actually be marked challenged, and be reviewed prior to tabulating? Bet you chocolate that if he sends it in, it gets counted. Clearly KC will not and cannot keep track of illegal ballots. In fact, nephew could probably return several ballots and they would all be counted.

22. swizzlestick, you moron (I might stop there because that pretty well sums things up ;'} if it so depressing for you, why continue to subject yourself to it? Why not "move on"?

Better yet, since nothing in this world seems to meet your acceptance, why don't you move on? Come on, admit it....you're so jaded with life...why don't you just park the car in your garage with the motor running, turn on some "quality" Al franken, and have yourself a nice long sleep....

23. Unkl--no experience at peeps or lap dances--just using "colorful metaphors" as Mr Spock said in one movie;

usage chosen from topic-appropriate SEA politics---with recent bold and meaningful legislation passed by the SEA Council to address pressing issues like lap dances;

but it's nice to hear from you again; was afraid I was off your "Holiday" Card list--sooo--in the interest of keeping my good wishes secular, Peace on you & your House :)

24. No unkl, this blog is not dying. I come here everyday to read. I usually don't post; doesn't mean I don't read and I am guessing that I am just one of many that do the same. Why do you keep coming here???
