1. This thing has had a longer "death scene" than any opera that I've ever heard of...
I can't help but think that the trans.-types and politicos are encouraging this to drag out as long as possible to deflect attention away from Sound Transit, which IMHO is even worse.
2. what??? Horn "flat-out" lied, according to board members???
Who would have thought a Seattle-area leader of a 'mass transit' project would have done that?????
3. Monorail spokesperson Natasha Jones says Horn is not responding to media inquiries, and Weeks could not be reached.
Wow...can't you feel the...transparency?
4. Why is it that no seattle resident has sued for a refund of their monorail licensing fee yet? When it is clear the thing is DEAD!
It's like agreeing with a roofer to put a new roof on your house. You pay him in advance and he decides it isn't going to be feasible but won't refund your money!
5. so, when this thing finally dies, the whole escapade will have only cost $100 million. i wonder where all of that money went? will there be some type of (reliable) accounting?
6. At this point, the people in charge need to be jailed or forced to pay us back.
7. A good public servant like Joel Horn lied? It must be a right wing plot! Pee Wee Goldstein says that Joel is a good public servant.
8. Don't fret; Joel (who stole) will be back peddling some private / public deal again. Maybe buying land around the viaduct and then lobbying to dig a tunnel..?
9. The biggest fleece of this whole thing when it comes crashing down is that of the property owners who the city of Seattle bought out at "market rates". Those people were all forced to sell their property to the government, but won't get it back at the price that they got. No, no, no. All that property now goes back on the market to be sold by the CITY at the market price, now much higher than when the city first acquired it.
10. Righton . . . you are "right on" about Joel. He goes from one high paid scam to another. It amazes me that he keeps getting new gigs in our area, considering everything he touches turns to coal dust. Joel Horn is the kiss of death on a project. Always has been and always will be. The only "magic touch" he has is in getting new gigs with high paying salaries. He fits right in with the King County / Seattle "leaders" who can no longer discern the truth from a lie. Think "Grinch" . . . he made up a lie, and made it up quick. He's a life member of their club!
11. Looks like the SMP just hired a new "consultant" at $38k a month to take over for Horn. They will do anything to keep this project afloat (and keep their paychecks coming).
