Sims tells "turnaround team" to sit and spin

Ron Sims is defiantly standing by his man in the elections office, ignoring even the tepid recommendations of his lame-ass task force -- "Sims says "turnaround team" wouldn't have election control":

King County Executive Ron Sims wants to bring in a "turnaround team" within 30 days to revamp the county's troubled election office, but instead of giving it management authority — as recommended by Sims' own blue-ribbon panel — plans to leave Director Dean Logan in charge at least through the fall elections.

"The operations of elections must be done by the elections professionals," Sims' chief of staff, Kurt Triplett, told the Metropolitan King County Council yesterday.

Instead of shelling out $500,000 on a fancy-pants "turnaround team" that will only be ordered to fetch coffee while Dean Logan does a better job this time of papering over his designed incompetence, why not just pay a team of ballerinas to turn pirouettes to keep the media and elections observers safely entertained and distracted?

1. Why not let the ballet guy be the elections office director? Put some glasses on him and he looks like Logan (there's a challenge for you Photoshop experts), and he certainly couldn't do any worse.

2. Dean Logan has to remain in charge through the November elections to make sure that Sims wins.

4. Noooohhh, can't make any changes before the election. The polls indicate a potentially close contest against Irons. Uh, oh. A close race between a 'Rat and a Republican in King County. Anyone want to take odds on how that will turn out? Get ready for some more miraculously "found" ballots.

5. Sims is a fan / student of Stalin.

Maintain control of the counting of votes, maintain power. If Logan is in charge in Nov. Sims wins re-election in a landslide, or at least a non-recountable margin.

6. A transparent election process?

The only thing transparent about Sims and his goons regarding elections is how they intend to manipulate a Sims win this fall.

What a f_cking joke!

7. We have to defeat Sims and that means a landslide for Irons that even Logan can't "fix". I see Irons' signs everywhere and he is ahead in the polls. Everyone needs to actively get involved in this election. That is the only way to restore integrity to this county - change leaders!!!!!

8. I believe SIMS unabashed arrogance will lead him directly into the Loser's Shi*house...exactly where he belongs.
Between this Election Department scam, wasting taxpayer dollars on an illusion of reform PLUS the Critical Areas Ordinance---
Irons has enough right there to take out Buckwheat. OOOTAY?
Frankly, I don't care one iota what Irons position is on I-912. Anyone who doesn't support Irons because he doesn't support I-912 is really stupid. I-912 is going to pass no matter what Irons does. Why in the world would Irons give Sims the transportation ACE???? That would be politically stupid.
All Irons needs to focus on is Elections, CAO and the fact that Sims is not really Buckwheat!! Plus the obvious corruption that comes with a person like Sims in power to long and Sims fiscal boondoggles (New Election Center for $20 million).
Irons can win.....if folks don't get outraged when he supports I-912. Help the guy out. This is politics. We are talking about dumping Ron Sims. Irons has got to be given some room to maneuver.

9. If Irons developed his political platform on the basis of inplementing a government employee dress code that included mandatory pink taffeta too toos I'd vote for him. Nothing against Irons. I think he's a worthwhile candidate but I'll vote for anyone that will bring just a glimmer of common sense to King County policy.

10. Perhaps Logan has some dirt on Sims and that is why he is still there and being supported by Sims.

11. Have we ever considered going with a black-ribbon commission? I think the colorless, Model-T Ford, "you can have any color you want so long as it's black" commission would cost less. Or how about no ribbon at all?

"Blue ribbon" is what they call marketing. Like "pre-owned" instead of "used," or "gaming" instead of "gambling," or "93% fat-free" instead of "7% pure lard."

Marketing people of all political persuasions do this all the time, but liberals are especially good at it when it comes to politics. (Think of "affirmative action" instead of "outdated reverse-discrimination"). And we, unfortunately, are especially good at letting them get away with it.

So, before we pay another "blue-ribbon" commission to put together a business climate report to gather dust in Gary Locke's desk, or an elections report to whitewash vote fraud, can we consider maybe just calling it a committee, and not paying a lot for an unused and / or worthless product?

12. Turnaround team is Logan's puppetier or ventriliquist? They say, make provisional ballots, light blue, then he says lets make provisional ballots light blue....then Ron says...sure after the next election cause the radical dems already have the ones on white paper that I gave them to vote for me.

13. ""The operations of elections must be done by the elections professionals," Sims' chief of staff, Kurt Triplett, told the Metropolitan King County Council yesterday."

"Professionals."

Then why is Logan still involved??????

The answer is, of course, that Logan's professionalim is in the area of political hucksterism.

14. Hmmm....

Ron Sims wants a *hand-picked* turnaround team - chosen by his *hand-picked* Mr. Reid...and he want's this team to report only to Sims...and for Sims to have the ultimate authority over any actions or recommendations of this *turnaround team*? And Ron Sims, with the ultimate authority over the turnaround team - wants his buddy, Dean Logan, to remain in charge of the election managment?

And Ron Sims wants us - the taxpayers - to pay $500,000.00 for his hand picked turnaround team that will ensure another fraudulent win for him?

Does he think we are into S & M?

15. Corruptness and fraudulence is the trademark of Ron Sims. Turnaround team - what a friggin joke !
How many chumps out there would actually buy this horses**t ? Logan may have some goods on Sims - otherwise anyone in his right mind would have sacked him. Oh, that's right - Corrupt Monarch Sims is not - he has succumbed to his quest for absolute power and has been absolutely corrupted.

Enough of this garbage ! VOTE and Elect David Irons as King County Executive in November.
