Talk To Governor Gregoire At 10

By way of Orbusmax, I learn that she will be taking questions on KUOW's "Weekday" program this morning.

And I am certain that host Steve Scher, who has made great efforts to include those who disagree with Democratic politicians and liberal orthodoxy on his program, will be delighted to hear from you.   Like everyone else at KUOW, he believes that political discussions should not be limited to a single party or to one narrow ideological faction.

1. Yes Jim. Do you think they believe in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy as well?

2. Would someone call in and ask her if she believes that the members of the Washington State Supreme Court have the inherent power to intentionally violate the Washington Constitution?

If this seems a bit outrageous, it is exactly what she has said in a court pleading.

3. Ideological orthodoxy on KUOW? Only since 1976.

4. Oh, such wit. Who knew?

Regarding calling in...why bother? I have a cat which listens better than Fraudoire, and I have a better chance the cat will be appreciative of the taxes (cat food and vet care) directed her way.

5. No can do...will blow it with my "7 words" of the FCC.

Besides, actions speak louder...and I've seen many since the election...don't need a patronizing, canned answer that won't mean a tinker's cuss;

6. Hope someone askd her if she still thinks this election was a 'model to the rest of the nation

7. Gregoire is bragging about the number of bills passed by the legislature this past session.

I'd like to have a governer that brags instead about the number of statutes removed from the books.

8. Who'd want to waste their time talking to that POS anyway? You'd have better results talking to a wall. At least the wall would have more intelligence and integrity.

9. Banana-
Bragging about the number of bills passed? Good one.

With that emergency clause torch, like a goon bragging how many restaurants paid a "voluntary street tax" to guard against "grease fires."

10. First, a minor correction: The host today was Marcie Sillman, instead of the usual Steve Scher.

One summary comment: 52 percent of Washingtonians may disapprove of Governor Gregoire, but no one in that majority was heard in the entire program. (Unless I missed one in the few seconds I stepped out of my office.) Sillman did not read any critical emails or broadcast any critical calls. Nor did she ask any critical questions herself.

In brief, our tax-supported station ran a political commercial for our unpopular governor -- and hopes to do so again, as I learned at the end of the program.

11. Bravo Jim, for your straight reporting on the tactics of our tax-consuming 'public' radio. Many thanks.

12. Jim, Hank, this is just another in a series of opening salvos by the media to rehabilitate an illegitimate governor as a run-up to re-election. Remember that 'Rats are always in campaign mode, and don't do anything without a political calculation. By the time '08 comes around, to listen to the MSM, Fraudoire's reign will be likened to the Millenium following the Second Coming.

13. Do they have to claim this time on the air as a Campaign contribution, or is that only in the case of Republicans and their causes

Posted by: GS on July 15, 2005 12:12 PM
14. Governor? What governor?

15. Too bad her broadcast coincided with a doctor's appointment. I wanted to ask her about our drought. I'm really concerned, because it has ruined almost every outing we have had this summer. It looks like tomorrow will be no exception to HER RULE.

16. Well I missed my chance to tell her that many of my hard core democratic friends(I spar with them often) are going to gladly vote against her massive gas tax. I will be happy to watch the voters of this state remind her of her campaign promises! She must have a very very very short memory!

17. Iguana, good comments on number of bills passed. Did Queen Chrissy comment on the record number of times the legislature used the emergency clause?

I'm also curious about the state of the drought. This is by far the farthest I have gotten into a summer without watering my lawn, it is still green and growing.

Yes, will this be reported as a campaign contribution?

18. Christine Haywire???...BURP!
