Save the whales!
King County Executive Ron "99.98%" Sims sent this letter to county Democrat PCOs asking for their support. As it turns out, a lot of local Democrats think Sims is an embarrassment and would prefer that he not run for re-election. One such Democrat forwarded me this hilarious letter.
Note that Sims #1 priority for his next term is to save the whales in Puget Sound! Call me Ishmael.

1. Bwahahaha!!! Evil republicans…
Xenophobia worked very nicely for the Soviets as well…
2. The democrat party is really scared of us, aren't they? I can't imagine any republican candidate in a primary spending so much time trying to defend themselves from democrats.
The orcas aren't the only thing. He wants to take another 100,000 acres from us and he wants to stop the building of any new roads. This nutjob believes that global warming is on the horizon and that republicans want to destroy the environment.
He also seems to be more than worried about the national republican party dumping a few dollars into the race this year. I read a bit of paranoia in his tone.
That, and he doesn't get it. People are far more concerned about the sham of an election that the county ran than the Orcas.
3. What is the old saying "A Ghost's chance in hell". That is what Ron Sim's faces with his CAO Land stealing, his Whoops on wheels multi billion dollar overbudget train set, Election a bank would be proud of. He is going to get the opportunity to go back home for some real home training. That is before Gregoire hires him into some huge paying job as payback for putting her in office.
4. Wow......that just boggles the mind....Good to see there was no mention of addressing King county government, election issues, or ANYTHING else that's been of interest.
5. Gee, Max Tax Ron only mentions trails three times in his letter. Who needs election reform when King County has all these really neat trails.
6. Ok, this guy is sick...
What great gains does the GOP want to roll-back?
"Protected over 130,000 acres of forest land..." That's code for unconsitutional land-gab!
"Built over a 100 ball fields..." Ok, as nice as that is I don't see that as being a core-function of government... And besides, I'll bet his opponent doesn't want to actually tear-down the ones already built!
Ok... I'll get sick if I keep reading this! So I quit.
7. Notice how global warming wasn't looming on the horizon until the posibility of a Republican becoming KC Exec. Somehow that threat has all of a sudden increased the number of homeless, has severely damaged the Puget Sound and now, just the threat of a Republican Exec has orcas committing suicide.
My friends the "F"ed up election is the least of our worries. Vote for Simms and the orcas will LIVE!!!!
8. Well the tone of his letter is enough to see he is worried sick. I'd like to make sure he feels the heat all the way out. The same way he has felt compassion for the people who actually bought, own, pay taxes on and live on their own land, only to have that grab happy sob send out his troops to make sure you don't pick a blackberry without buying an $800 permit. He is toast! The second sacrifical lamb at the election alter. More to follow soon.
9. Is the great whale himself? Or does it stand for the Democrat party?
10. Why are the dems interested in the Oracs, they can't take light rail and have no taxable income?
11. The only delusion missing from that letter is mandating free King County Rabbies shots for any Dem living within one mile of or has come close to a Republican in the last 6 months.
LOL
Reading that, I am waiting for "Republican" re-education camps construction planning to start here any time soon, of course funded by a $.07 sales tax on lets see.......per flush of each toilet in the county(thats fitting).
Wow.........is that scary that someone in ANY level of office believes and feels that way?
PTES is setting in: Post Traumatic Election Syndrome.
Scott
12. Self-caracature. That letter should be in wikipedia under
moonbat.
13. Ron Sims is a tremendous leader. His vision, his compassion and his good, common and buseinss sense have taken King County much further than it would have gone had he not been there.
14. He should be worried about the eagles that have been traumatized in my front yard . . . because his henchmen have been beating down bushes and trees at a record pace to get the trail built before he is out of office. All of their noise has been extremely upsetting to my eagles. I thought eagles were protected. Well, not if Czar Ron wants a trail on somebody else's property.
15. "Yours in Solidarity" now there is a closing that is scary. Only socialists, communists and moonbats end a letter with Your in Solidarity.
16. So let me get this straight. King county is going to stop global warming. But only if the donx nominate Sims. Can we say messiah complex? I think he's loonier that any of us thought.
17. Hey---Ron forgot to mention in his accomplishment list what a great bank-envying job he did with the King County elections!!!! I'm sure the omission was simply a minor oversight.
No matter; they'll nominate him again because people like the trolls here think he did an amazingly good job with the election and is just an awesome man.
18. Ok, ok, ok. The Republicans have been caught....we WOULD like to ROLL BACK THE CORRUPTION AT KING COUNTY ELECTIONS. Darn, these people miss nothing.
19. I especially like the part about the "affordable transportation for everyone". Would that be the 12 billion dollar train system that cost's more to take a person from Seattle to Everett than does a private helicoptor RON? And who's paying for the "roof over the beds of homeless people" Ron? Here's a suggestion, how about they quit drinking peeing all over our expensive hand-laid stone sidewalks and buy their own damn roof?
20. He actually said "Saving PUget Sound will cost money, political capital, and will take time".
He is absolutely clueless that he has just endorsed voting for a Republican, who would spend less, call in and give no favors, and get it done in no time at all, after that is, addressing the really pressing issues in our state. Is he for real?
21. Page one low-lites:
1. Land grab, ball fields.
2. Transport, part one…trails etc.
3. Help the frail. For heaven’s sake, don’t allow the churches to be involved.
4. Fiscal prudence. (sic.)
5. Pander to vets. But don’t let ‘em vote.
6. Enviro. Nonsense. Just exactly what counties are responsible for.
Page two low-lites:
1. Ending homelessness
2. Government land grab, re dux
3. Transportation boondoggle, part deux.
Yup. That’s a record above reproach.
“Save the beached whales” I can see it now…
hmmm...I was gonna say I want the t-shirt...but it would probably be obscene.
22. Why does he need to campaign for it, anyway? Is there another Democrat running against him at this convention primary?
23. Ron "tax to the max" Sims is delusional & paronoid. Ron baby talks about saving Puget Sound and that it will "cost money, political capital and will take a lot of time." He says that's a job for a Democrat. I agree. Spending a lot of money, paying off people with political bribes and taking WAY to long to get anything done... yep, that's a job for a Democrat alright.
And what about ending homelessness? Ron's "tent cities" are exactly the type of thing that perpetuates homelessness and draws the non-working low-lifes to Seattle.
I guess we'll all be required to walk to work too when Ronnie gets his trail system finished.
If this guy wasn't such an imbecile, it would be even more pathetic. My niece's husband used to work for Ron Sims. I think I need to ask him why he quit...
24. You all should be nicer to "Councilman For Life" Ron Sims. He is the best we've ever had. Can't you righties at least attempt to conceal the fact that you are all KKK-lovin racists?
25. I'm laughing my a$$ off at all the comments. Irons should just take this letter verbatum and use it to promote his campaign. Just get in front of the camera and start reading. It's like a SNL skit.
Rich stuff.
26. Flush
Best sarcasm yet!!! Keep it up buddy, I'm still laughing.
By the way, being a black man, I have no love for the KKK. Just thought I'd mention that.
27. the fact that you are all KKK-lovin racists? 4:09
There it is they are now playing the race card. We really got them concerned now. Whats next, my dad can beat your dad.
28. It was the felon elected Governor who has the history of wearing the white hooded robe in her college days. As president of her soriety, she ensured that black girls were NOT allowed to join.
29. Gosh, I need to get out and make new friends. So far I haven't met any fellow conservatives who love or even like the KKK. But this racist nonsense is what usually happens when Democrat supporters find their candidate is in deep doo-doo with the voters. And this comes from the party of "tolerance".
I bet Lush also took up the hue and cry that initiative 695 was going to shut down the state's vital services because everything from law enforcement to saving the whales was funded with the potential 2% loss of revenue (by the way, Lush, the state actually took in more money than the evil initiative ever took away.)
Hey, Sims! Take the advice of Brave Sir Robin: "Run away! Run away!" Your days as executive are coming to an end. Maybe Norm Rice can get you a job at his former bank.
30. For the past several years I have believed that Ron has been loosing it mentally -- the problem with proving it is that it is difficult to separate liberalism from mental illness.
Yes, Ron has some major problems -- he has never held a job outside of Government -- he's getting older -- and unless some higher up liberal democrat will give him a job with the Feds -- he's going to have big problems after the next election -- he's going to have some problems paying his property taxes
31. sorry, flush, sgmmac has nailed you: The only person around here that looks like a KKK-loving racist is Christine "Don't-want-no-blacks-in-MY-sorority" Gregoire.
As for moi, this little half-hispanic girl hasn't felt any interest in the kkk just yet. I'd say with Gregoire and Robert Byrd in your camp, you're far more likely to than I.
32. Shoot--I never received my letter. The postal meter was calculated at 99.98% (Sims Bank) accuracy of the 37-cent postal fee. Poatage due. Returned to sender. Job well done. Heapin' helping of Home Training, anyone?
33. His vision, his compassion and his good, common and buseinss sense have taken King County much further than it would have gone had he not been there.

And therein lies the problem... he has indeed "taken King County much further than it would have gone had he not been there"... much farther down the tubes of hell with Chrissy dragging the rest of the state right behind him.
As thinking Conservatives our agenda should be:
1. put David Irons the County Executives office
2. the formation of Cascade County
3. hand Maria Cantwell her early retirement papers
4. get some GOP balance (if not a majority) in the legislature
5. dump Chrissy the unelected.
With Stefan, Matt and the other contributors here focusing on the agenda and the rest of us staying active AND directing our liberal pals as well as our conservative pals HERE for a dose of truth, we can and will achieve these goals
34. Save the whales? Let's see--"orca" spelled backwards is "acro"--like in ac-ro-cy--like in "99.98 % acro-cy" (any bank would envy);
Yes--it all fits--backward thinking combined with Ron in a Neptune outfit with trident riding on the back of an orca--great letterhead logo for his office;
35. Lush--
"Racists?" Incompetent hacks come in a 'rainbow' of hues. (How is that for being 'inclusive?') Integrity transcends color. Funny how YOU mentioned race first and others chose to focus on RESULTS and ACTIONS (or lack thereof.) Nice try. What next for you--a "bad-verdict" looting spree & riot?
36. I wonder if Christine Gregoire's white hooded robe still fits her.
37. Assuming that Ron's to-do list is actually within the domain of the County Executive (which is a leap), and assuming that this to-do list is a valid accounting of the most pressing issues we in King County face, and accepting his statement as accruate ("Puget Sound is dying"), one must ask:
Why hasn't Ron Sims solved these problems already? He's been the one in power for quite a long time.
If these problems are real and genuinely pressing, then one must dump the ineffectual leader who has thus far failed to remedy them.
The Evil Republicans haven't been in any position to address, never mind define, the Top Ten Troubles of King County for ages. It's been Ron Sims - and he's not solved them.
38. Saving Puget Sound will cost money - thats a job for a Democrat
Ya gotta love that quote. He could have just said, "Democrats are better at spending mo' money than Republicans."
39. JCM,
They may not take the metro, and maybe they do not pay taxes, but they sure can vote!
40. Notice no KC election reform priority exists on his agenda. Election reform must be a Republican right-wing agenda thing.
