Downtown Seattle Republican Club

Space is still available. This should be a great talk. Come if you can!

The special guest speaker at Monday's (June 20) meeting of the Downtown Seattle Republican Club is state Senate Republican leader Bill Finkbeiner, who will give us the highlights of this year's legislative session and his thoughts on the big issues facing the legislature in the year ahead.

The event will be held at the College Club, Fifth and Madison in downtown Seattle, starting at 6pm, featuring dinner and an after-dinner talk/audience Q&A with Sen. Finkbeiner.

The only cost is for dinner at the College Club, which will be $22, all inclusive. Please RSVP by 3pm, Monday to ensure a seat for dinner. More details on directions and parking here. RSVP to me at:

1. You guys going to razz him for voting for the gas tax?

(Actually, I sympathize with the R's who were essentially forced into voting for it. I just hope he's one of them, as not all of them went unwillingly.)

2. You guys going to razz him for voting for the gas tax?

Tim, I think that's a fair question to ask him. Perhaps you and your lovely wife can join us for the dinner and ask the question yourself!

His vote spoke for itself!!!!!!!

4. Finkbeiner is endemic of the attitude in Olympia: "We know better than you, so shut up and do as we say,". No thanks. I think he needs to be shown the door in primary, if not for the gas tax vote outright then his inability to at least slow down Christine's tax machine.

5. Unfortunately, plans for Monday evening already exist.

6. Seattle republican club??? That must be an oxy-moron. Oh oh. I said oxy - you know what that means. DOCTOR - wait a minute - DOCTOR can I speak to you about the pain in my back?

7. Thanks, "Lush Flimbaugh". I don't know about the oxy, but you've revealed to us who the moron is.

8. You better raise the cost on that dinner Shark. One of these days me and all my conservative rabble buddies might actually get lost on our way to Ivars.

I'd come hear the Fink but I can't afford the drive up there.

9. Senator Finkbeiner was elected by the people of the 45th, and he represents them well. Which is what being a good Senator is all about, it's not always about towing the party line. I will be there on Monday to hear what he has to say.

10. Finkbeiner does "tow" the party line -- he is leading us down the wrong direction with the gas tax and we are all following behind him.

I wish he would "toe" the line though.

11. Highlights of tha last legislative session. The only highlights he can talk to is how to screw the citizens of this state. Fortunately I suspect this will be his undoing, as people are very very angry about his so called leadership. If I show up it will only be to collect signatures outside for the NoNewGasTax initiative. I would like nothing more than to have signature collectors outside when he walks in. I am not going to support a state Republican party that does nothing but follow the state Democratis into their twosted form of socialism.

12. The senators have established a campaign fund to get at least two more republicans elected. Then they would take the majority back. And crazy taxes won't be passed.

13. sgmmac,

I really really wish I cold agree with you, but even if the majority in the Senate would switch to republicans, which I totally support, the key republican leadership in this state are acting like their democratic counterparts, and not acting at all as republicans based on the last legislative session. We were told that they would not go along with all of Gregoire's massive tax hike binge. The Republican leaders in this state gave her every single tax hike her heart desired.

So based on an absolute total lack of Republican leadership in Chris Vance, and Bill Finkbeiner, I no longer can offer any financial support whatsoever to this party until these people are replaced. Neither can any longer be counted on as Republicans in this state!
