King County's clarification

King County Elections spokeswoman Bobbie Egan e-mailed:

I want to clarify for you the advice given by the King County Prosecuting Attorney to help you and visitors to your blog understand the advice given to us by the PAO.

The Prosecuting Attorney's Office advised the Elections Division that it should not do anything that could prejudice the legal position of any party to the Election Contest litigation. Based on that advice, the uncounted ballots were sealed and remained sealed until the litigation was concluded. The parties to the Election Contest had the opportunity to seek an order from the judge regarding these ballots and the Elections Division was prepared to comply with such an order. Sealing the uncounted ballots and awaiting possible direction from the court was consistent with the position taken by other counties that found uncounted ballots in the months leading to the Election Contest trial.

As I wrote back to Ms. Egan and cc:ed the Prosecutor's Office
"This clarification would be more persuasive if it also referenced the specific statutory exemption to the Public Disclosure Act upon which the PAO relied when it advised you to deny my records request."

By November King Ron will be thoroughly exposed and ripe for the ousting thanks to the dilegence of concerned citizens and superb work of Stefan.

4. The 2004 Election Contest AFTERMATH is a lot more fun than the contest itself.
I believe the once all the evidence is further dissected, we will find that Rossi actually had more votes....further adding to Gregoire's woes and ultimate demise.
In the meantime, Gregoire is kissing every a$$ she can get those shriveled lips on. Courting business leaders, giving raises to the Gary Locke mafia, most of whom just played bureaucratic musical chairs. Every single stupid move she makes will be chronicled. The ultimate piling on will be when voters repeal the gas tax.

6. OK - off topic - but KC related

I think Ron Sims is on a political suicide mission....again.
This time he's enforcing his "Big Brother" "Good Home training" on King County employees!
If you smoke cigarettes, are overweight, eat at McDonalds, drive 5 MPH over the speed limit or partake in any of the other communist deemed "unhealthy" habits or lifestyles - and are a King County employee - you will be charged greatly in your monthly insurance premiums!

13,000 King County employees will be asked to *confidentially* divulge whether they are overweight or engage in other health related vices...Those who choose not to answer will be charged the higher rates!!

You know, I was a banker for 25 years. I worked with smokers, the obese, junk food eaters, etc...at corporate offices in 5 different banks - in 2 states - and I cannot recall any one particular group of people (as classified by KC's unhealthy list) of costing the bank any more than those considered with *Healthy* habits. I hate to say it - but my most dedicated staff for years were smokers, overweight and junk food eaters! It has been my experience - over 25 years, that these people rarely called in sick. It was usually those who constantly worried about their health - that ended up out sick more often!
It's true! The water drinkers - who shunned the coffee maker - walked their lunchtimes away and bought expensive gym memberships - were always ill or injured!

Remember how healthy we were before health became a hot-button, political issue? Now everyone is ill with some bizarre disorder or another - that can't honestly be tied to bad habits (otherwise we would have all died out about 75 years ago)...But there is big money to be made by local governments (sin taxes), and Insurance companies - in the assumption that these habits are the cause...

Incredible!

We definitely live in communist King County!

7. Deborah >> Like the second hand smoke scam -- they've pushed that to the point of absolute paranoia - some of the latest claims I have heard would have people believe that if they ever even sniffed one good whiff of tobacco smoke that they were destined to DIE - DIE - DIE of lung cancer -- actually one thing they are doing with all the health crap is to foster and enforce groupthink that only really serves to continually downgrade the overall collective quality of the staff - since any one who is capable of independent thinking never goes there in the first place - or splits or gets 'eased' out

8. Anyone care to guess Ron Sim's weight -- you don't get a gut like that chow'n at the tofu stand...

Also Deborah is right -- the jogger types are costing their fellow citizens big bucks with their bum'd out knees and enlarged hearts. They really are not fitness freaks, they are endorphin junkies that go into (literally) withdrawl when their knees won't take any more.

Also know lots of creative and well to do types who smoke -- one old rich guy I knew (commodities and real estate) chain smoked cigs and cigars, drank whiskey out of a bottle, ate beef steak most every night, and chased women (ofter his wife died, of course) he died at 90 something. Used to say: "If I wanted to exercise, I'd hire somebody to do it for me..." --

9. While off the main subject I want to make a comment about the initiative 912 forms. If I heard correctly on the John Carlson program yesterday a number of completed (signed) 912 forms have been stolen from business that had them on their counter. If you see any forms out and unattended while in a business it may be wise to warn them that there are those who have no scruples or honor when it comes to our inherent rights to a fair Initiative. ala K.C.E. division.

Posted by: 4pawz on June 14, 2005 08:06 PM
10. Looks like the 'RATS are back in their campaign "screw with the opposition" mode -- destroy signs, break into campagn offices, slash van tires - a real bunch of childish crapheads -- straight outta some union hall

They need to get out the information about where these forms were so people have a chance to sign them again --

11. I can relate. We had an initiative to repeal a lame brained tax increase by the Oregon legislature. They did everything they could to derail the process including the SOS approving and then disapproving wording on the petitions so we had to start over. They liberal activists would also shout down signature gatherers in public places and shout down people who signed them. Pure intimidation. They aren't below stooping to the lowest common denominator. But we prevailed on like a 65 - 35 vote, and I am sure you will as well. Good luck.

12. Picking up the OT on big brother Sims' health oversight, I wonder about how they decide which health factors to choose.

Who is less likely to incur health costs:
(a) someone over the weight limit (which is constantly changing anyway, and didn't a study come out recently that said slightly chubbier people are healthy than the thin?), but monogamous; or
(b) a thin person who sleeps around and picks up STDs like a black sweater picks up cat hair? Promiscuity is responsible for so many diseases, some of which (e.g., chlamydia) lead to cancer.

Posted by: Shannon K on June 14, 2005 09:02 PM
13. Shannon K - Or more to the point, why are some lifestyle choices with health consequences without sanction, and others with sanction? It has to do with whether the lifestyle choice has a political organization built around it.

15. "actually one thing they are doing with all the health crap is to foster and enforce groupthink that only really serves to continually downgrade the overall collective quality of the staff"

Bill.....

You are correct!
In fact - most of the oppressive laws, policies and ordinances dished out by Ron Sims and King County are excersizes in social conditioning. Behavior modification and psyc-ops....etc...

I remember the military hospitals and commissaries used to have arrows taped on their floors to direct patients and shoppers. If you went down an aisle - against the direction an arrow was pointing..you were stared at by fellow patrons and scolded by the staff! As a woman visiting the base hospital - you were herded like cattle into a waiting room - usually with 30 or more women....following those arrows....
It's all about control and conditioning - but King and other counties are attempting to implement it on a grander scale!
Most of these concepts were born in the United Nations. The UN has been trying to get the US to sign it's anti-tobacco treaty for years now. Bush declined - saying something about our nations civil rights? Now the UN is on an obese kick and anti-junk-food kick...

The Democrats in congress have tried everything to oblige the UN....including dissin our troops, hating Bush, oppressing our rights, ignoring our borders, dumbing down our public education and spreading anti-American sentiment around the globe through their mouthpiece media!

They are accomplishing this on community, city, county and state levels in parts of this country - and we are in one of the hot spots!

Is it me? Or does it appear that the Democrats in our nation have gone communist and globalist and have said "to Hell" with our constitutional rights?

16. oops!

Sorry for the drift Stefan.....

I have put the soapbox back into the garage...heh..

And now back to our topic!

Posted by: Deborah on June 14, 2005 10:46 PM
17. Deborah - we are not that far offa da topic - KC corruption aided and abetted by the internal and external internationalists -- the PC crap and other 'in-your-face' distortions that are surfacing are part and parcel of the game --

Laura Ingraham a couple hrs ago was talking about a STUDY of kids who have taken a virginity pledge and stuck to it were free of any STD's - wow actually took a study to figger that out - wonder how many phd feces and gov'mint (yours and mine) money went into that boondoggle??? -- does KC give good marks to families whose children have taken this 'pledge' ?? - 'ell we didn't need no stinking pledge - OR STUDY - we just didn't get any (much) and did our best to have respect for each other --

Pasted below is a post I left on the site re BH's new job -- getting carried away but thought it worth repeating in this thread

What a complete joke - the absentee ballot system/process was set up for disabled/elderly/handicapped people who have trouble getting to the polls -- and people who are legitimently out of the area -- over the last twenty years or so it has been systematically perverted to make it easier and easier - more convenient to vote -- there is no way that handicapped voting provisions need to be installed at any polling place -- the Bolshevic SOB's are doing everything they can to disrupt the proper and traditional ideas/attitudes/and procedures that have brought this country along -- Their motor voter BS - get out the vote BS - moveon voter drives (like scrap drives) - registering at the county buildings - all mail-in voting - at the same time requiring all the counties in the country to install handicapped voting facilities - straight out of Animal Farm and 1984 -- crap - all crap

The first election I remember was 1952 and during the afternoon I can remember my mother getting ready to go vote -- I thought she was getting ready to go to church --

The internal enemies of the US - make no mistake - they are here and are extremely active -- and have been largely successful -- they got scared a wee widdle bit with Nixon's "silent majority" phrase and got rocked a lot with Reagan but were still able to keep control of US congress and able to continue their domestic CRAP while Ronnie was busy cleaning up after Mr peanut and saving the whole damn world from the Rooskies -- yo trolls >> ASK ANY EASTERN EUROPEAN THAT GOT OUT IN THE LAST 50 or so YEARS ABOUT THAT!!! if ya need clarification > IF you can handle it -- the truth that is - unlikely -- OH yeh - don't pull up some scumbag bastard like SOROS -- I am talking about real people -- not the elete 'RATS that don't give a damn about where they are from OR where they currently are enjoying a land of milk and honey

The internal bolshevics are and have been screwing with our election system for the last 20 yrs or so -- bottom line is that their external allies are dwindling -- they lost MOTHA Russia and Eastern Europe and have been reduced to kissing Castro and No. Korea's butts -- although new allies seem to be surfacing in the EU and the UN - but those crap piles appear to be washing away in the wake of scandel investigations and votes by France (THE PEOPLE OF FRANCE -- THAT IS) and the Neatherlands -- getting a little lonelier out there for the Bolshevics/socialists these days and they are in a slow (subdued) camoflaged panic mode -- they are being hemmed in and starting to realize that they are being cornered - watch out - they will be very dangerous in the next few elections

THEY ARE NOW SO FAR DOWN THAT THEY ARE CHEERING ALONG THE TERRORISTS AND THE INSURGENTS IN IRAQ -- if you question that statement - pay attention for a while - any while - any few days of the incessent crap that has spewed out of the democRATS in congress over the last 3+ years

The most important thing to keep in mind here is that the specifics in the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution flew TOTALLY in the face of ALL of the existing power structures that existed at that time and most of these power structures and/or disguised forms of them still exist -- this includes ALL of the major religions of the WORLD, all of the royal families and their power structures -- AND EVERYTHING THAT HAS EVOLVED AND/OR DEVELOPED SINCE - sure a lot of countries have adopted some sort of constitution that kinda/sorta reads like the US' -- most are just imitations -- 'ell just go 150 miles north of here (Seattle) and you will be surrounded by 'subjects' -- just rhetoric you say??? - get stuffed

KEEP IN MIND THAT WHEN WE DECLARED INDEPENDENCE FROM BRITAIN -- WE WERE ACTUALLY DECLARING IDEPENDENCE FROM THE WHOLE WORLD -- OF COURSE MODERN REALITY REQUIRES THIS INDEPENDENCE TO BE OF A POLITICAL NATURE ONLY -- now keep this in mind -- the founders not only declared independence from their ancestral and ethnic homeland -- THEY PHYSICALLY FOUGHT THEM OFF -- many other ethnic groups over the years have done the same in one way or another -- some individuals have not

18. Bill,

Like I've said in the past....We are in a war!

I's up to everyone reach that conclusion in their own time - in their own way.

This election contest is the farthest the people have gone yet - in awareness - of what's happening to our state.....and to our country.

The corruption, rights violations and social engineering ploys, in the past, were orchestrated so smoothly - that people just scratched their heads and complied. They knew something was very wrong - but weren't willing to believe what was possibly happening...Now - with so much being exposed and uncovered.....people are waking up!

It's happening all over the country!

19. Marc said,"liberal activists would also shout down signature gatherers in public places and shout down people who signed them. Pure intimidation."

Be advised that if you are intimidated then you may well be in fear of bodily harm and a 911 call may be in order. To arrest the intimidators have this ready for the police.

20. it should not do anything that could prejudice the legal position of any party to the Election Contest litigation.

Gee, I'm sure glad they cleared that up. We wouldn't want anybody to think they run a partisan shop.

From my point of view, withholding relevant factual material showed a prejudice towards the eventual outcome of the litigation.

21. "13,000 King County employees will be asked to *confidentially* divulge whether they are overweight or engage in other health related vices...Those who choose not to answer will be charged the higher rates!!

I wonder if the questionaire will also ask two questions which are typical of any life insurance questionaire - about sexual preference and Aids. (I know, homosexuality and AIDS are "totally unrelated" wink-wink...). Dispite the "accepted unrelatedness" of the two, watch all hell break loose if THOSE questions are on the questionaire.

Posted by: Scott C on June 15, 2005 08:43 AM
22. Mr. Grabbit,
I agree. They withheld everything they could. There was already so much blatant truth shown at that sham of a trial. God forbid even more proof of corruption and fraud be shown. Much more and the judge could not have gotten away with ignoring it. I wonder if showing security camera footage of the "interesting activities" would have been enough. With prejudice, indeed.

23. Ipsi - Thanks for the note. Keep in mind, part of this petition was repealing a tax that would go to Portland Police. For some reason, they didn't have much interest in enforcing the law in that regard. I guess there could be "Free Speech" issues as well which I respect.

It just goes to show, they aren't really that interested in Democracy. If they don't like the initiative process they should pass a law banning them or amend the process. If not, let the people have their say. Unfortunately, I don't think they are really that interested in people having a say in government.
