To ask the question is to answer it

Seattle Times columnist Danny Westneat is in Wenatchee and he's disappointed by the lack of answers to his questions:

But I was hoping we'd learn answers to some larger, more important questions. Such as:

• Who really got the most votes?

• Was this election stolen?

• Is the vote-counting system broken, and, if so, how?

I'd say that if it's nearly seven months after the election and you still don't have answers to (1) and (2), then that's the answer to (3)

1. Q. Who really got the most votes?

A. Rossi

?Q. Was this election stolen?

A. yes, obviously to anyone paying attention who is not a liberal media hack and who does no investigation of the facts.

?Q. Is the vote-counting system broken, and, if so, how?

A. By deliberate fraud of democtatic officals including deliberately falsefying certification results as "mistakes," including false reporting and conspiracy to falsefy reports.

2. Did King County systematically water down their election policies and procedures - or their interpretation of them - or both?

Knowing the extreme importance of State and Federal elections - what would be King Countys purpose for creating such a lax environment with regard to security for blank ballots, provisionals, accounting, tallies, etc....?

What *could* be their purpose?

4. ‘which hopefully will help resolve who gets to be governor’

Reading that, I feel like I’m back in grade school deciding who ‘gets’ first ups in kickball. Shouldn’t he say that it will (or may) help resolve who was duly elected? The essence of his article is that this a boring court case (‘people started yawning’, ‘several fell fast asleep’) with nothing new. (Paraphrase) ‘People may be surprised by the allegations, but we journalists were only surprised when there would be no evidence to support the allegations’. In other words, ‘we’ll’ follow the case and tell you all you need to know. Yes, quicksand for those that rely on the MSM.

5. I think your point will go well over the head of this dumbazz.

Don't ever underestimate just how stupid the average King County resident is.

6. Hey Iguana,

Don't ever underestimate just how WILLFULLY stupid the average KC resident is.

Posted by: Danny on May 24, 2005 05:06 AM
7. Is Danny really that stupid? Never mind rhetorical question. Over the last decade I have come believe the following truism.

Is there such a thing as a stupid question?
Yes, when a reporter asks it.

I could understand a Martian landing in Wenatchee yesterday asking that question, but not from a supposedly informed journalist.

Posted by: JCM on May 24, 2005 06:01 AM
8. At least the reporter was pretty fair to both sides...

9. Hey JCM,

I've seen you post here quite a bit. I assume you pay a little attention. If my assumption were true, you would know that my comment to Iguana was in agreement with his. The people of KC are willfully stupid in their continued voting patterns...Sims, et al. I'm on the RIGHT side of this argument, not the left.

10. This guy's a journalist, and he's asking such painfully obvious questions that he can't answer? Anybody with a modicum of objectivity would've been able to answer questions #1 and #2 in a heartbeat, and question #3 is pretty darn self-evident from the answers to #1 and #2...

Somebody hit this hack with a cluebat, wouldya please? Sheesh.

"Here come da Judge!!"

11. It is hard to believe, but forty years ago the Seattle newspapers had numerous award winning writers: Doug Welch, Jack Jarvis, Watson, Stanton Paddy, Fish -- just to name a few. My father regularly read both papers -- and I'll tell you it was damn tough to pry a silver dime from his Wyoming cowboy fist -- but by the time he died he had stopped reading either paper calling both of them "trash..."

12. *Is the King County elections office run for the benefit of democrats?* Yes....

Posted by: Michele on May 24, 2005 07:35 AM
13. I think the question the Judge will focus on the most will be burden of proof, and who it will fall on. He has a history of using the "shifting burden of proof". I think we will see this play a big part in this trial.

14. Danny: I think JCM was referring to Danny Westneat, the Times columnist.

15. OMG, my baaaaad!!! I will immediately retire to the drawing room and flog myself mercilessly while repeating "No WMD, Karl Rove" 5,000 times.

My apologies to JCM.

Tourism Industry Benefits From Governor Trial
Story by: KPQ news
Posted: Mon, 23 May 2005 08:34:52 PDT

Wenatchee Tourism officials expect to reap financial benefits from the contested Governor Election. Wenatchee is in the media spotlight with the Trial set for the Chelan County Auditorium. Roger Klute, with the Wenatchee Convention and Visitors Bureau, says area hotels are reporting higher than normal occupancy numbers. He adds restaurants, grocery stores, and other service related businesses will get their share of the business generated by the Trial.

The Dems will take credit for the boost in sales.

Note they call this tourism. To funny.

17. Danny LOL Flogging oneself LOL Thanks for the Giggle.....

Gary..Glad to see the Eastside of State getting something for once...Could you imagine the spin KC would heap on us if trial was located there?
We would need to build a new building "just to hold court"....

Posted by: Chris on May 24, 2005 08:02 AM
18. Don't laugh Chris ... Now the city of Seattle has a "broadband report," which says that the city MUST build a fiber optic network itself - owned and operated by the city - or it will quickly slip into the Dark Ages.

I guess that is what Nickels wants that big tunnel of love for - he wants to string fiber optics through it.

If any dimwit can think of it, Seattle needs to build it.

19. My opinion is that you know you are going to lose, but you're going to appeal and just keep repeating the word "fraud" as long and as loud as you can and create the impression in the populace that Rossi was the victim of Dem. fraud.

Truh and honesty are the furthest things from your mind.

20. I myself was thinking of setting up a hotdog stand at the courthouse, This is America! We could even have Alar..Oh opps Apple pie just to keep Wenatchee in the green. And if taking a tour of our legal system in action you could stay a few nights that would be great. On another note,
KREM.com has the trial live and in living color.

Posted by: Gary on May 24, 2005 08:29 AM
21. OK, Mr. Lucy, I will take the bait.

Please expain to me how the Way/Fell Mail Ballot Report
was all about "truh (sic) and honesty."

Posted by: otto on May 24, 2005 08:33 AM
22. Why yes, Lucy, Democrat fraud IS an element of this. Logan, Huennekens et al are democrats and they sure weren't telling us about their fraudulent reports. And surely you aren't trying to tell us it was Republicans that stuffed the ballot box in Gregoire precincts and 'lost' ballots in Rossi precincts...Are you? Ds are very afraid of the fraud word. It couldn't be more clear to the rest of us.

Speaking of truth and honesty, it's pretty obvious that those virtues were very absent for Logan, Huennekens and Nicole Way et al.

I'll bet you wish you'd omitted that last sentence of your comment in light of that, don't you?

Posted by: Michele on May 24, 2005 08:40 AM
23. Michele,

Why would HL wish she had ommitted that sentence? Isn't it obvious that what Logan, Huennekens, and Way... etc. said was just a human mistake. They didn't really mean to say that, anyone can make just a simple human error.

Isn't it great? We can run an effectinve PR campaign and still be telling the truth! This has to be a first for Washington State!

26. Who really voted the most?

Have you stolen an election lately?

Are the KC vote counters cooking the books, and, if so, why not cover it up?

Har!

27. Whew!

Democratics DENIED!

28. Even took a moment to recognize that the Democrats in Seattle were partially responsible for the delay in absentee vote totals.

29. Reading Danny Westneat's recent column (on the trial) was like stuffing twinkies into one's mouth. "Why did I do that? Why isn't it nutritious? Why am I not full? What was that all about? Gee, that was stupid. OOOO...now I feel sick." (burp)

31. Howard Dean's a pit bull and he doesn't back down. And, unlike Frist, he's a competent doctor.Tom Delay's even more immoral than Newt Gingrich and the next term he has will be a jail term.
