The Greatest Show on Earth

Republican Attorney Dale Foreman just gave an amazing opening statement. One of the best lines:

This election was stolen from the legal voters of this state by a bizarre combination of illegal voters and bungling bureaucrats.

He spoke of felon, dead and double voters. But his main focus was on the irregularities in King County, such as the unlawfully cast provisional ballots and the Mail Ballot Report, which he characterized as "fraud".

At this moment there's a brief recess. The Democrats opening statement is next.

2. Foreman was awesome. As I heard the opening lines of the democrat lawyer, I recognized a bunch of table-pounding, which is what you do when you don't have much in substance.

I'm encouraged.

4. And so why did John Carlson jump in the governor's race 4 years ago. Dale was my guy for the last three elections.

It is good to see he still has it and his abilities are exposed for all to see. He was a very effective legislator, too.

5. I'm wondering why the DEMS are trying to block the fraud evidence? I guess because there was and they know it. The paperwork couldn't be filed initially since the evidence just came out late last week. I think the DEMS are in some serious trouble.

The Dem's opening statements are weak and life-less no drama, it must be difficult to appear passionate about a pile of whining lies.

9. !@#$!@@#! I missed Foreman! The donky shyster is BORING!!! He's talking about the Republican legal tactics, and not the case.

I have 1 MB cable, and I can't even get reliable audio. Server overload! I thought that TCP/IP had "ways" of handling large numbers of streaming clients, but it's not working very well now.

11. I've only been partly paying attention to KVI's feed, but three things jumped out at me...

The respondant's lawyer states (I'm paraphrasing) regarding bad ballot totals...

"someone might have simply forgotten to sign the poll book..."

Ummm... they aren't supposed to get a ballot until they sign it.

"Someone might have simply walked into their polling place and and put an absentee ballot into the accuvote machine. That person is still a valid voter..."

Since there is no signature to verify that, you know that how...?

"Overturning an election will open the door up to all sorts of litigation..."

He's right, we must never disturb the status quo.

Most of his arguments are just weak. You mean to tell me the Democrat's don't have someone better than this?

14. Interesting. He's admitting that the claims are valid for the opposition, but insofar as it was endemic throughout the state and results in a wash for the election.

Thought nothing of the sort was valid about the Republican's case. And now to find the opposition admitting that the Republicans are correct? Wow!

16. Mike...it's not the weakness of the man, it's the weakness of the facts/case/argument.

ya gotta admit, though...it's going to be interesting one way or another when all the dem participants in this angstfest go into CYA mode. It's rather difficult to hold things together when heads are likely to roll.

19. I think that the dem lawyer realizes all too clearly his case's lack of substance. To me, it sounds mostly like he is constructing sound bites for the MSM to run with and to buy more time (the strategy that the Clintons' so successfully pursued: Deny, Delay, Accuse and Obfuscate, followed by "This is all old news, let's just move on, shall we?)

22. Dale Foreman- the best Governor we never had. And certainly would have prevented 2 disastrous terms of Gary Locke. If only we had a decent primary when he ran- no Ellen Craswell and thus, no Gary.
