"Count Again"

There seems to be an epidemic of former Attorneys General giving commencement speeches. Former U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft spoke at the graduation ceremony of Northwest University on Saturday. Former Washington State Attorney General Christine Gregoire spoke at WSU on Sunday.

Note the words in the lower left-hand corner "count again". It appears that the Accounting graduates rearranged their caps in order to have some fun at the former Attorney General's expense.

1. I'm not so sure it says that. It looks like it in the smaller picture, but when you go to the larger image, it looks like it says "accounting".

2. Whoops, sorry. Should have gone to the link first. When you click the link you provided, it goes only to the "accounting" picture, not the sequence that shows it changing. Sorry about missing that.

3. The larger image does say "accounting". They rearranged their caps (or themselves) in order to spell "count again"

4. That was quite amusing. Thanks for posting it! Props to the graduates who planned this out and pulled it off!

5. The thing that sticks out in my mind about this situation is how savvy the Accounting group actually was.

You have to think that if they sat down immediately with the phrase "Count Again", somebody may have asked them to remove the letters. By cleverly masking it with the word "Accounting", they probably attracted the attention of everybody sitting behind them (which is basically everybody) at least once during the ceremony. I'm sure that their heads got plenty of attention once they pulled the switch off.

Point well taken.

6. Pretty opportune time for her to venture over. The Spokane media is in a feeding frenzy over the West scandal and too busy to pay much attention.

Speech was incredibly boring. She made references to talk radio. John Carlson & Co have really gotten into her head. Then Fraudoire also spoke of how you have to stand up for what you believe in and make yourself heard. Only if you agree with the left apparently.

One attendee held up a "Not My Governor" sign and was quickly escorted out. The audience response to her was tepid at best.

8. I LOVE IT!!! So proud of 'my' school. I never bothered to go through graduation...might have been worth it to see something like this. :-)

9. The "Count Again" students---absolutely priceless!!!! Thanks for showing us a photo that will never be shown in the Times or PI

12. What I love is that this kind of subtle, silent, and cleaver protest is lost on the lunatic fringe of the left. The only way they know to protest is by yelling obsenities, and breaking things. Bravo to the accounting students, job well done!

13. Darn it; those are the people we need in the SOS and Elections offices. Now they will be persona non grata's w/ the state folks!

14. If this were done to a Republican (for whatever reason) it would make all the MSN 24-7 -- doubt if any MSN this side of mountains will mention it --

15. Not My Governor , indeed. Does anyone, besides the lunatic left fringe,
believe that Fraudoire is the legitimate Governor?

I received a B.A. from WSU, but did not attend the graduation ceremony that year.
Perhaps WSU was trying to give out only B.S. degrees this year,
except for some brave Accounting graduates.

Who invited Fraudoire? And why? Is this part of the "Great Heeling Tour"?
Enquiring minds want to know.

16. Good to see that not all of the students at our universities are being turned into hypnotized moonbats by very left leaning professors.

17. Who invited Fraudoire?

Pullman is a blue island in a sea of red. 27 of 30 Pullman precincts went for Fraudoire last November, thanks no doubt to those left leaning profs and hypnotized students. From what I have been reading, it seems there may have been some student political hijinks at the ballot box that hopefully will backfire in the court case in Wenatchee.

I'm sure the former Attorney General wanted to take a victory lap for those recent faculty pay increases and President Rawlins wanted to bend her ear about some WSU projects that didn't get funded.

Sounds like my kind of school!

If only she'd been pied.....

19. It's good to see some non-leftie college students for a change. Of course, they're all in accounting, where one expects to find rational, add-up-the-correct-numbers people.

20. Oh, that's priceless!

GO COUGS!!!

23. Being a Big Ten accounting graduate...I really didn't think a Pac Ten school was capable of this type of humor. Whoever came up with this idea....please step forward IMMEDIATELY.
I doubt you will have any trouble finding a job in this state!

24. That is hilarious!!!

She deserves to be boo-ed and laugh off every stage she is on.

I bet she was mightely confused when the giggles started. I relish thinking about her wondering if she had a big buger hanging out her nose and showing up on the big video screen.

25. The Moscow-Pullman Daily News, while hardly MSM, did not report on the "protest" in it's story on Fraudoire's speech which just came out.

Unfortunately, its online articles are subscription only, but there are some interesting comments from the Governor pro tem, such as: "the recently completed legislative session was the most prolific in the state's history", we should hardly notice the new gas tax, Eastern Washington motorists won't flock to Idaho for cheap gas (yeah, right) and even though most of the gas tax revenue will go to the west side, one day Eastern Washington will have a need the whole state will come together for (insert Stefan's laughtrack mp.3 here).

27. Now that is a graduating class we can all be proud of. I hoep she is met with this kind of gentle reminder that this state will remember what she does here at the next election. The highest tax increase in state history, the walking all over citizen initiatives, she will be remembered, and hopefully sooner than later

Posted by: GS on May 9, 2005 03:15 PM
28. I love it! Maybe the MSM will pick it up...if enough of us write them! I'll write to Sean Hannity, who has covered the story a bit. If we can get it on Fox News...that'll be nice impact... Even it it's mostly only preaching to the choir! :- )

29. "The highest tax increase in state history"

Not quite, if I recall. The 1993 budget actually raised taxes $682 mil, if I remember - which is the highest tax increase in state history.

Wait. Hooooold on. Ummmm, lemme check.

Well I be. That was the last time the Ds controlled the House, Senate and the governor's mansion.

Coincidence? Couuuuld be ....

30. That picture is priceless!
That is the funniest thing I have seen in a long time.
Go Cougs!
Stefan you rock man!

31. Oh I feel so so so much better now, CG just announced to each citizen that "Our lives just got a whole lot better" Then signed her massive Tax Increase. Well CG, I am left speechless!

Posted by: GS on May 9, 2005 11:15 PM
32. Hmmm, my life is worse since she signed that tax increase. Because I'll have less money and nothing to show for it.

Posted by: Michele on May 9, 2005 11:34 PM
33. A quote concerning Queen Christine's gas tax appears in the Seattle Times today:

When she visited Pullman on Friday, she said, she told local leaders about plans to replace an old bridge.

"There isn't a community I can go to where something isn't being done," Gregoire said.

An old bridge????? A recent article in the Moscow-Pullman Daily News stated that Pullman could eventually hope to receive about $100K in gas tax money. You could hardly build a foot bridge with that. And something done in every community? The arrogance of the pork-barrel effort to sell this gas tax is staggering.

35. Just wanted to let all of the naysayers out there to know that the person wearing the "n" in the word "again" is my brother. And, yes, I was at the graduation. I only hope when I graduate in three more semesters that I will be able to pull off something so brilliant. Way to go!
