It's in the P-I

Yesterday's Seattle Post-Intelligencer ran a campaign ad for Former Attorney General Gregoire disguised as a news story: "Gregoire: First the victory, now the triumphs"

With her first legislative session wrapped up on time, Gregoire was quick to declare victory and issue a list of triumphs.

Her last-hour work to help broker a transportation package and 9.5-cent-a-gallon gas-tax increase to help repair the Alaskan Way Viaduct, Interstate 405 and the state Route 520 bridge was perhaps the most notable.

If these people believe that a stolen election is a "victory" then it should be no surprise that their idea of a notable "triumph" is breaking a campaign promise.

1. Now, why would you be SURPRISED that Fraudoire broke a campaign promise...especially since her promises aren't worth the paper they're written on...

2. Our futures just got better while our wallets are continually being emptied. Thanks bunchs Former Attorney General Gregoire, that's not how I see it!

3. The lamestream press is in full "legitimize Fraudoire" mode, either in anticipation of a revote or the 2008 election. This is only the opening salvo. Folks in Washington State haven't seen anything yet. There will be a full-court press in the media to build up Fraudoire and bury the fraudlant election of 2004 down the memory hole.

My guess is they are looking to 2008. Rossi will likely get no justice from the fraudlant, 'Rat-controlled cpourt system. Republicans have to try, of course, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. Whatever Fraudoire does or doesn't do in the next 3 1/2 years, the pressitutes will gussie it up as a "triumph" for Fraudoire, an example of "effective leadership" and of how the electorate "chose correctly in 2004" (or so they will say). When it's all over, Rossi, or any other challenger, won't have a prayer in 2008. Once a 'Rat gets dug in there, they are awfully hard to dig out. That's why you have to fight like hell when you get your shot, as Rossi is doing now. "Wait 'till next time" is a fool's errand.

4. She broke no promises. She made promises "if she was elected". She was not elected, therefore she broke no promises.

Where do I apply for a job with King County elections?

5. The LEFTIST Pinheads are claiming the gas tax will ONLY cost each Washington resident $100/yr. What they don't tell you is the this is on top of dozens and dozens of other ONLY $100...only $50...only $25...only..only..only.

These clowns haven't figured out that all these dozens of ONLY'S add up after awhile.

Seattle has earned the Alaskan Way Viaduct.
It's a monument to the futility of Seattle moving from planning/process to product. They have wasted hundreds of millions on transportation planning and engineering. Now they want the rest of the state to bail them out.

Seattle deserves the Viaduct. It's Seattle's problem.
Charge a toll!

6. Pardon me for a faux pas here, but isn't CG representative of the party that wants the income tax because of it's 'progressivity?'

Yet, by my accounting, the taxes they raised in this biennium are all 'regressive,' hitting the poor much harder than most. Cigarettes, booze, gas.

Guess it's ok, since no one is calling anyone on them, and the money is going to all the friends of Chrissy.

7. As long as they believe they can get away with breaking promises, the ruling Democrats will continue to do so - no conscience or shame.

It will take a major setback to the ruling Dems - initiated by the people like a gas tax initiative followed by a bunch of them getting booted out of office after the 2006 elections to stop or temporarily stall this trend. Check out nonewgastax.com and help stem his self-indulgent, morally relativistic and financially destructive trend.

8. Patches Pal--
Truer words were never spoken.
Gas, Cigs & Booze--highly REgressive taxes.
However, people who drive around in their car all day smoking and drinking don't vote I guess.

Our Seattle PROGRESSIVES...this crowd has done more to impact global warming with all their constant gasbagging than all the factories in all the 3rd world countris combined!

9. The Democrats are shaking in their boots right now and will be expected to flood the airways with their bogus messages of *confidence* and *victory* as the Rossi contest trial draws near...

I would expect the liberal media to give the Dems - (especially Gregoire) unlimited air time over the next 2 weeks - to help improve their tarnished image. It won't work of course....People are absolutely outraged!

Heh...It just isn't going to work this time....

10. CG: "If they had done nothing, everybody out there would have said, 'See, there they are again. There's no courage. There's not boldness.' "

Guess it depends on what the meaning of 'courage' is....I would say passing REAL performance audits in a wasteful county and state out-ranks increasing our taxes....any day of the year.

Are you telling us that there is meaningful performance audits in 6103?
Just checking, cause last time I checked,KC and the DOT are under any obligation to follow any of Sontag's recommendations.

14. Narcissistic sentance?

"I give the Legislature high marks," Gregoire said. "I provided the leadership. (Lawmakers) really like the fact that I'm in touch with them. I'm very connected with them. I'm surprised how comfortable I am. I'm surprised how much I enjoy it. My predecessors said I wouldn't and, to the contrary, I do."

I think so..

I hope so.

17. Splatter, I got the point. Don't worry about the spelling mistake.

Isn't it all about her, anyway? That's why she enjoys it. She's at the top of the heap of all her old Dem buddies and they're steamrolling over the rest of us waving their hats and shouting, "Yee-haw!"

18. "With her first legislative session wrapped up on time, Gregoire was quick to declare victory and issue a list of triumphs. "
-Seattle PI

...maybe she declare victory (Gov Election) because no one else would and it made feel better?

19. I have to say I just cannot believe the mothers day I just had, and the amount of unsolicited input that came my way from my democratic friends and family members that are openly disgusted with the person they voted for as Governor.

My Brother in law said "Once she ran over I601, I was finished supporting her"

A long time friend told me " She is trying to turn this place into California, and what is she thinking doing this with a potential election re-vote.

She is a joke even to her own supporters in the her party

20. Well, after telling Spokane what to do, now Joel Connelly now thinks he can also tell British Columbia how to run their Province.

Apparently the Liberals are not Liberal enough for him so he wants them to elect the Socialists!

That's cuz she knows the "fix is in." I would like to see a re-vote but don't hold out much hope. Should Rossi prevail in this contest, the Washington State Supreme Court will side with Queen Christine on appeal and throw it out....I hope I am very wrong.

22. The Rossi love fest on Soundpolitics is really quaint, still, I have to wonder whether the affinity for Rossi is what drives these people...and not simply an irrational hatred for Gregoire, coupled with a strange and deeply ingrained hatred for women.

23. It seems she's decided to be the "Governor of Seattle". As it should be, since she's picking the pockets of the entire state to fund Seattle's infrastructure. I wonder how people in Wenatchee feel about paying nearly 10 cents a gallon more to fund a bunch of pavement in Seattle? I wonder how the people who live across the Narrows Bridge are going to like paying a hefty toll to use the new Narrows Bridge when Seattle will be getting non-toll bridges, viaducts, and upgrades to existing structures? Seattle stole the election and made her governor of the whole state. It's only fair that she gets right on the job of repaying Seattle by stealing money from the whole state, right?

24. Sourgrapes: naw, we just saw how bad California got, and Gray Davis was actually the elected governor.

I think our venom would be equal whether woman, or man. Take the antipathy for Mike Lowry, and layer onto it the fraudulant election....

And then of course you're seeing a mixing into the fray of all the dissatisfaction w/ voter initiatives being overturned or deceitfully ignored. 2 Stadium, UW winking at the quote laws, etc.

Lets run Joel Connelly for Gov and see if this is a misogynistic thing, or just an anti socialist thing.

25. I have been watching this Blog for some time, and I notice that everytime a liberal posts a comment, they show their mental adolesence. Is it something in what they eat or drink that hampers their metal processes? Ref. sourgrapes comments above.

Love Rossi...Hate Gregoire...or do you just hate women in power.

Ex-wife got on you too much about all the time you spent on your big phallus on wheels out in the garage?

30. As I read the trolls on the board I can't help wonder why they bother posting. Obviously it isn’t to change anyone's opinion. Unless they think insulting people gets them to change their opinion. If that is the case let me give it a whirl.

All you momma’s boys need to quit looking to the government to solve all your problems. Put down the joint, get a job and make something of your life.

Whew, hope that works. All the liberals I saved from a miserable life your welcome.

Oh well if I had to rely on the government to make me happy I would be crazy too.

Not even, Jim. Let me make this perfectly clear; I'm calling out the dems for not having the big plums to pass REAL performance audits in a spend-thrift county and state. What they toss out there in way of audits has no teeth.
