Former Attorney General Christine Gregoire, who was given the keys to the governor's washroom as a result of mail ballot fraud, is poised to sign a Democrat bill that will make mail ballot fraud even easier.
You can express your displeasure about all-mail voting to Mrs. Gregoire, here

Dear Governor-pretend?
Dear Governor-wannabe?
Dear Former Atty General?
Your Royal Highness?
Sheesh. Gotta be politically correct in this day and age...

She is not only our illegitimate governor, but will lie to the faces of voters and also sign bills that go against intiatives widely passed by voters!
She should be considered a direct danger to democracy.
Posted by: Joe on April 20, 2005 04:08 PMAnd, unless you refused to call President Bush "President" from 2000-04, you should refer to Govenor Gregoire as Govenor Gregoire. I'm sure Ms. or Mrs. Govenor would work also.
Dino Rossi is probably best referred to as "The guy that once had some respect, but watch a bunch of loons drain him of all respect." Long, but honest, don't you think?

Posted by: Puddybud on April 20, 2005 05:09 PMYou need to get beyond the Myths and Talking Points of the Right.
The review of the Florida Election did not find that Bush won. The final number would depend on what standard was used. Using the standard that the Florida Supreme Court seemed to be ready to adopt, Gore would have won (a full state recount with everything to a hanging chad counted). It was only by the standard that Gore's legal team had originally pushed, a broad standard (pregnant chads), and partial recound (Broward, Dade and whatever the third county was), that Gore lost. Strangely enough, by the standard that Bush's legal team was pushing, if they did not get the Supreme Court to step in, Bush lost. Ah, you got to love those brillian legal minds.
So, unless it was "President Select" it is "Govenor." If for no other reason, as a sign of respect for the office and the rule of law. You don't have to like Govenor Gregoire, but she is the Govenor, at least for now. In 2008 we will see what happens.
Posted by: JDB on April 20, 2005 05:19 PMDoes this mean that poor people get free stamps to mail their balots? What is the requirment for who ets a free stamp? At the basic level, that would be a stamp tax and according to the democrats that would be disenfranchisement.
Or does the Democratic party plan to offer free stamps if they want to vote. This can be an addition to the program they already have offering beer and cigarettes to homeless who voote.
Would it be a crime to collect the stamp and then not vote?
Hmmm.
Posted by: FredFryInternational on April 20, 2005 05:35 PMIn the interest of accuracy? Do you mean accurate like "Evergreen is one of the most respected liberal arts colleges in the country"? Please refer to the earlier post and comments - you've been debunked.
As for the final standard determining who won Florida - it may be useful to remember that Gore was NEVER ahead in any count or recount. Rossi was ahead both after the election and after the recount. So they're not really the same situation, are they? No, not at all, huh?
So we can call George W. Bush the President of the United States, and Christine Gregoire the former Attorney General. Just wait, it'll all be overturned soon, and we'll elect Dino in November. Sorry about your big fantasy world, but you're welcome to go on living in it.
Posted by: Larry on April 20, 2005 05:58 PMI'm a CPA but you probably don't have to be one to understand that a 229 vote swing in a 129 vote difference election is enough. Do you have some obscure code that says Rossi needs to win by more than 1?????
JDB--you ought to vent your frustration at the Dem lawyers who sat around criticizing Stefan and the R's rather than rounding up their own data on a timely basis. NOW IT'S TOO LATE DIMWIT!
Posted by: Mr. Cynical on April 20, 2005 06:43 PMCompletely off topic in this thread but, as I was reading the posts about Evergreen State College earlier I thought it’s worth commenting. I'm a resident of the 22nd and am just sickened by this sham institution of “high-er” education. The latest news around Evergreen is this.
They are spending $1.02 Million in what they are calling the "Evergreen Parkway road modernization project". They think "road modernizing" is reducing the lanes in both directions from two lanes to one in order to create better bicycle and pedestrian walks. I live in the Cooper Point Community and use this road almost daily and have yet to see the demand in either bicyclists or pedestrians to justify this complete WASTE of public resources. But I guess now that they just passed the 9.5 cent gas tax, what’s another $1.02 million for this sham state run institution. If you want to read more just visit their fabulous web site for the project at:
http://www.evergreen.edu/facilities/buildings/999_NON_BUILDING_SITE_LOCATION/projects/04_05/Parkway.htm
I still await the day CG is ousted - dragged kicking and screaming, with fingernails grabbing the carpet - that bill and other bloated government crap must get repealed or welcome to the Soviet Socialist Republic of Washington.
Posted by: KS on April 20, 2005 09:19 PMGlad you all missed me. Hell, have there been discussions about my abscence? You all are too kind. Sadly, work, life, family, things most of you apparently don't have, have taken precident to bringing a little truth to this board.
Stephan: Glad you liked it, it worked for "President" Bush for four years. And we saw how well the Democrats did with irrational anger.
Mr. Cyncial:
If you are a CPA, I assume you have some familiarity with stats. As such, you know their anylitical model is just bad. The judge has already said that the GOP has to SHOW that the ILLEGAL votes changed the outcome. It is a simple falicy to say, especially with no other information, that the individual behaved liked the whole. Lets except that the best the GOP can show, all factors in their favor and purely a guess, is 229 vote swing. A quick calculation is that is an error rate of apprx.: .008%. Do you think that a judge is going to overturn the actual count based upon speculation when it is that small?
Larry, Baby, missed you:
I posted many of the raves for Evergreen. The best I've seen in reply is "Yeah, but they are commies," which is an interesting reply, but not really a great arguement. You have posting here from conservatives who have said "yeah, freak college, but I know a few grads, really good." If all you have is that you don't like the college because (like about 90% of the population) it is more liberal than you..., I'm sorry, not that good of arguement. Do any of you actually have a reason you don't like Evergreen, or is this some John Birch sort of thing, we just hate because we do it well? The fact that not every college in this state is the same is a good thing.
SP Fan:
How long have you lived on CP? I spent most of my life in Olympia, and have biked Evergreen PKWY many times. in summer it is heavily used. Plus, since it is the main road to campus, it gets plenty of pedestrian and bicycle traffic. The need for two lanes isn't there, though (all the roads that lead to the parkway are one lane, each direction. So, if you are going to fix the pavement, what is the bid deal if you restripe and add better pedestrian ways (peds are now stuffed on the shoulder)? And why do you dislike the college? It has brought Olympia a lot in return, a vivrant art, music and theater scene, good resturants, and much more. Yep, there are hippies, but go to the Ave. You won't feel that bad.
Oh, by the way, not from King Co, never from King Co, never have lived there, never really had a desire to. Do go to Seattle a lot for fun and work though. Only problem, all the damn traffic, but at least we are taking care of some of that now.
Good for you, so you biked it many times, maybe on Super Saturday? Most students hitch hike, take the IT bus or drive their beat up VW or Subaru. Sorry, I live in reality and don't see the need for bike lanes as much as vehicle lanes as they are still building houses out here. About 500 more in the next three to five years. So, we need the lanes. But they’ll just wait and raise the gas tax again later for that.
I've been here on Cooper Point before Evergreen was a school. We fought to keep the State from taking our land for the Parkway! Now that they have it and built it, they want to narrow it? This is as big a sham as the institution itself!
There already is a full 12 foot bike lane on most of the Parkway, I guess they need another 15' for all the trees they want to plant. Round a bouts are real necessary, especially for the masses of bikes and pedestrians out here and we wanna be sure there is an efficient exchange at the college entrance so everyone get's to class on time. You know enrollment it up, almost half of what they had projected for the school in 1974, but they have been adding on and building like mad the last two years.
All that school has brought Olympia are protestors, or so called “peace activists" and corrupt wacko politicians that are very rude and disrespectful people that are contradictory to what they profess.
So what year did you graduate? You MUST be a GREENER!
Your last post contained 512 words.
Setting aside grammatical errors, your spelling errors total 9 words. That is a 1.8 % inaccuracy rate.
By King County standards, you should be an English Professor, and it is no wonder you think this sham is an accurate representation of the will of the people. For your educational edification.

SP:
Actually, I went to McLane for elementary. What is wrong with a rotary at the main enterance of the school? The current entry isn't particularly safe, and a rotary would make it safer. Makes sense. You said something about fighting the taking of your land for the parkway..., the college is on state owned land (since time began, I believe, or at least since the early 1900s, see Mudville, written by the 8th grade at Jefferson back in the late 70s). Most of the parkway is on college property (hence why it is an Evergreen project). And, since you said you needs the lanes, surely you mean to appoligise for the forsight of the state in building it in the first place. Are you really trying to be serious about the need for two lanes on it? When? And if you are saying it will soon be having more use, then shouldn't it be upgraded?
I hate to tell you this, their would be filthy hippy protesters in Olympia with or without Evergreen. On the other hand, you would not have a very vibrant and interesting city otherwise. And, since you live on the point, apparently, I'm sure you are more upset with all the yuppies who have moved out and ruined the point more than the damn hippies. But, again, do you have an actual criticism of the school, other than you think they are all commies?

a. More evidence is annouced.
b. The Democrats are caught pushing through another anti-citizen bill...?
They scramble to distract us with their rhetoric and propaganda. I mean...how many times are we going to fall for the *Gore won Florida in 2000* argument? Why does anyone acknowledge this fool?
Isn't JDB the one who post's from some school district computer?

They have no interest here other than to discourage our efforts. That is what their website mandates. That is what their job is here - to anger us - make us worry.
Ignore them as though they never posted - and watch how quickly they leave....
I wish this blog had an ignore feature.... I can live just fine without adding their crap to my day!

It would be better to spend a lot more time manually counting the words (with union labor perhaps?). You must be very efficient at you place of employment!

Posted by: Stefan Sharkansky on April 21, 2005 12:01 PMIs that like the print on the ballots the dems designed in FL in 2000? Who again did you say was stupid?
Posted by: Fred on April 21, 2005 12:22 PMthank you for your tolerance in allowing us to post on your site. I know that I get down~n~dirty with the trolls at times, but its only because they stray so far from topic.
Witness Headlice. It made an initial post that, while self defeating
(Q: Where in the 1930's did we see that tactic widely employed? A: Well, that would be the National Socialists, a PROGRESSIVE party)
Unfortunately it wasn't content with simply making a comment that revealed itself for the ignorant partisan fool that it is, it had to go one further (and more extreme): Have you ever noticed that the screed/books Reps read on politics are printed in large, easy to read type? I have. Because middle class Reps are so stupid that they belong to a party that actively seeks to eradicate them.
Not just off-topic, but profoundly stupid and pointlessly insulting.
But so completely off~the~map stupid that it becomes silly & humorous.
Thank you Shark for letting me see the liberal loonies in full dress.
It's almost too fun! ;'}
Posted by: alphabet soup on April 21, 2005 12:50 PMSorry to burst your fart bubble JDB. When I navigated through all the biased reporting on the Florida 2000 election from MSM biased to Democrats (just look and see where their contribution monies went) I got down to nitty gritty URLs. So you can discount the first 5 or 6 web sites as they even took the Miami Herald (biased democratic, who said Bush won) to task. So:
http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2001/florida.ballots/stories/main.html
Surprising from CNN
www.ssc.wisc.edu/~bhansen/vote/vote.html - only looked at the three counties like Al Gore wanted. He was told by the courts to recount all of Florida. And if the counties were controlled by Democrats, like I tell Nellie, then they should had the crap together and made sure the voters got to the polling places, instead of blaming the govenor, the secretary of state, the attorney general, etc.
Nov. 12 front-page stories of the New York Times, the Washington Post and other leading news outlets, which stated that Bush would have won regardless of the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling.
You are complaining about them dimpled and overvoted chads. Most of the Googled articles discuss this. Gore's lawyers decided to take it to court but didn't ask for uniform counting rules. The Florida Supreme Court had to make a uniform counting standard over the chads and they did not, so the US Supreme Court overruled them on that point, and said stop the recount. Who controlled the Florida Supreme Court? The Democrats.
Also you use this chad issue as your basis in fact. Can't change the rules after the votes came in. Aha you say, the Republicans are trying to do that now. No, they are saying that the people who voted illegally should nnot be counted, and this is not a rules change.
The chads issue came to light because the Democratic counties used their budgets for strange purchases, like keeping the union bosses happy while the Republican counties used their monies to get new voting machines. So you take the three most populous and richest counties: Broward, Dade, and Palm Beach and they can't get improved systems?
Blame Theresa LaPore for the 11000 hanging chads that didn't pass muster. The SEVEN newspapers looked at the accepted chads and said GWB won. SO Pat Buchanan got 15000 votes in Palm Beach County. Can't teach them rich retirees to vote correctly?
If Bush was so illegitimate in 2004, why did he kick Kerry's sorry butt by more than 3 Million votes? Oh yeah, it's them damned Diebold WAAAAAAHHHHH! electronic machines, like them crackpot statisticians in Shohomish county. Maybe the masses got so fed up with the crap that Gregoire said in the last few days running up to the election that the silent majority came out and said Dino, Dino, Dino. Ever thought about that?
But you and Nellie and others can't give it up 4+ years later. WAAAAAAHHHHH I didn't have my Gorebasm in 2000. I didn't ket Kerryed in 2004. NOOOOOOOOOOO? Well maybe that's what happened.
Now we see the same obfuscation in 2004. Democrats want the vote counted a certain way and leave it alone in others. Felons, dead people, out-of-state people, non US people, lets keep the status quo. Sorry JDB, but the train is coming back to the station next month.
