1. ALthough Slade often does speak of his experience on the 9/11 commission, this time he will be speaking about something a bit more local, how he got involved in politics and what it was like to be a Republican in Seattle during the heydey. He will also be talking briefly about the David Irons campaign of which he is a co-chair.

2. Since the Clinton impeachment trial comments I haven't had a whole lot of use for old 'fish stick.'

3. To Stephan,
Thanks for your great reporting on the King County elections. I am wondering if this same information was provided to Chairman Vance or the legal team developing evidence for the legal challenge?

I am wondering if the delays in getting this to you represented an attempt to avoid having this information being used in the challenge.

4. I have much in common with Slade Gorton. I am a Washingtonian by birth, an Anglican, I currently live in Sunapee NH near Dartmouth, and am a libertarian.

I have just read Slade Gorton's malicious comments on Hawaii in today's Wall Street Journal.

His continuous statements seeking to deny indigenous people their rights is disgraceful. His attacks on the Bolt decisions are divisive and unAmerican.

Slade Gorton is a disgrace to American ideals.
