An Enron-style Election

My column for this week's The Stranger is now online. Unfortunately, they had to bump it from the print version due to other breaking news. But it's right here for your pleasure.

And also be sure to check out this week's letters to the editor!

1. Somebody's lobbying for your position as Drunk of the Week!. Interesting... I thought it was the folks over there at HA that founded "Drinking Liberally".

2. Talk about prophetic, remember this blog post?

Jan 6,2005

"A Signed Confession"

"Mrs. Fraudoire's reliably, helpfully unbrilliant spokesman Morton Brilliant said:
Gregoire's spokesman Morton Brilliant said "Republicans were acting like children watching a batch of cookies baking, reaching in too early, then complaining that they're still gooey."
[Thanks, for the own goal, Mort! The "baking cookies" analogy helps plant the perception that King County is cooking the books!]

So the implication is that the data is merely preliminary and the full, updated list is expected to be complete by the end of next week."

Now that the "end of next week" has turned into the end of this week, and its increasingly obvious that King County Election's Enron-style accounting numbers aren't going to add up, Dean Logan is telling a story that he wasn't telling a week ago:"

At least they were honest when they used the cookie baking analogy........

3. Actually, Stefan, most parents expect teachers to force feed their kids a diet of bocus anti-military propoganda.

4. that was "bogus" not "bocus"

5. Don't you just love it when Liberals use substantive arguments to battle facts.

6. The column is very well written. It's going to be hard for all but the most deluded and drugged Seattle Moonbats to deny the facts and reasoning that are now seeing the light of day in this case.

For me the barometer is HorsesAss.org. Throughout this whole mess, Goldy's modus operandi has been to watch as Stefan presented some new information, errors, etc. regarding the election. Then after an MSM source came to the defense of Logan and the Democrats, Goldy writes a "Yeah, like he said piece" to refute whatever Stefan has said, and if Stefan's data was particularly damning or accurate, then Goldy spices the piece up with ad-hominen and profanity. What's so telling this time around is that so far, there's been nothing at all from Goldy.

Even Councilwoman Julia Patterson, who has rushed to Logan's defense many times is having second thought about whether she wants to ride this train off the cliff and has been starting to distance herself from Logan.

It's not looking good for Durkan et. al.

8. Got bumped from print? I bet they still had room for the group sex classifieds...

9. Enron math? An Enron election? Just what you'd expect from EnRon Sims.

Or is that EnRon Milhous Sims, as in stonewalling & modified, limited hangouts?
