Buried in the Democrats' filing for today's hearing [large PDF] is this tidbit, complaining about King County Elections' lack of response to the Democrats' document requests: [Hamilton Declaration p. 5, #9]
After the filing and scrutiny associated with this election, King County revised its [provisional ballot] report and reported over 4,000 rejected provisional ballots. Attached as Exhibit E is a copy of this revised report. WSDCC only recently learned of the amended report, through an online media source.I'm willing to bet that this online media source is ... Sound Politics. Hamilton Declaration Exhibit E is copied directly from the digital image of the Provisional Ballot Summary Report that I posted last week. The Democrats' Exhibit is obviously my own image, you can tell from the particular angle of the text and the residual bit of the fax header in the upper right corner.
It's odd that the Democrats got the document from me, whereas I got it from the Evergreen Freedom Foundation which got it by way of a public records request of King County. For some reason though, King County didn't give it to directly to the Democrats.

Where I come from we say U DA MAN! (Ex East Coaster)
As I suggested before on the password securing of your voting spreadsheet, take Photoshop, PaintShop Pro or another good graphics program and watermark all of your blog posted graphics. You will then have abosulute, uncontrovertable, undeniable, definitive proof that the "Enemies of the State" are utilizing your and Bob Williams' (EFF) great hard work. We can't let them take credit for things they obfuscate over.
Congratulations on another job well done.

Hey, is there are reward for turning in brick-throwers these days. If so, I might pick up some extra cash. You folks have been throwing bricks for a long time now.

I look forward to reading the depo's when/if they are made available. Then I will have more info to form my opinion, one way or the other.
Posted by: Chris on March 26, 2005 09:28 AMCome on now, it isn't that hard to be literate.
And thank the gods if the Democrats are reading this board, at least someone is. There are what, 15 fairly constant conservatives, 10 of which are wingnuts, five of which know what they are saying, and about five liberals.
This isn't exactly a thirving place for the exchange of ideas with a myriad of divergent viewpoints. You would think that we would have at least one libertarian or one far left neo-socialist to liven things up.
Posted by: JDB on March 26, 2005 10:36 AMI find it ironic that the Dem's used a document by source of a "blog" (oh my goodness, you know the same source that is causing all the dry mouths in the KC council) and didnt get it directly from KC itself.
Why does the "public" have to do the work of KC elections .
Why havent the Dem's done the same homework?
Why should the work of Stefan/EFF be useful to either KC or the Dem's, unless of course it proves errors were made, and by errors I am referring to enough to change the 129 vote margin.
Why did it take so long for the election results from the 1,2,3 counts take so long to reach public scrutiny.....
I dont live in KC, but KC stole this election from the rest of the STATE.
It all seems IRONIC to me.

Posted by: Clean House on March 26, 2005 12:52 PM"Let's do our job and collect detailed election information from King County and report it. Sure it'll make the County look bad, but isn't it our job to afflict the comfortable? But... that might comfort the afflicted Republicans who just saw victory snatched away. It isn't good for community values to have Republican victories, particularly in the Governor's race. Let the reporting slide. No individual would have the resources or the will to dig through all those election records, so any irregularities we might have discovered by real reporting will remain buried, and who's to know better? And Ron Sims can put on a press conference and praise the fine work by Logan and Company, and we can report that for the conclusion."
Tell us, learned Editors, am I right?
Posted by: Insufficiently Sensitive on March 26, 2005 01:08 PMIf the truth shows that the election was fair - so be it. If it shows the opposite, an adequate remedy needs to be found.
Before all of that, everyone should want to get to the bottom of "what happened." Nobody should "stonewall" if they feel confident that the truth will show that they're correct.
Posted by: YourGovernorCostsMillion$ on March 26, 2005 01:30 PM"You folks are pretty hard up for amusement if you think reading depositions is entertaining. Guess there's no accounting for taste."
Oh, I expect these depositions will be quite entertaining.
Also, George Soros and the Tides Foundation of Teresa Heinz Kerry are big contributors to Moveon? Funny that Rolling Stone didn't mention that.
Likewise, I don't expect that the Dems and regressives like him will be very interested in the truth coming out - to be followed by the US Attorney's investigation of the lack of enforcement of election law and heads should roll - woo hoo !
Posted by: KS on March 26, 2005 05:00 PMI applauded the newspapers (Wall St. Journal, Washington Post, NY Times (slightly to the left of Pravda)) who went to Florida in early 2001 and conducted recounts for the entire state, with full public disclosure. JDB and others should be applauding our efforts in similar fashion.
Incidentally, not one of the newspapers found that Gore had more votes. And this despite the rejected overseas military ballots that would have added to Bush's lead.

Boys Ranch late appeal
Blame a subordinate
Tax-payers pay for a 3rd counting of ballots
Like WA, Milwaukee had more ballots counted than voters (over 7000), allowed felons to vote, failed to properly validate newly registered voters (they have election day registration which certainly invites voter fraud, and failed to follow state law to certify the Nov. 2 results, that gave Kery an 11,000 vote victory.

Yet - they will cower when finally confronted by Stefan or another of the Blog's contributors - because they know they can be banned in an instant.
(The only thing an oppressor fears is being oppressed themselves....or ignored!)
So before you allow them to send you on some wild google search - or cause you to correct your grammar....just remember they are trolls - not worth any effort. Do not feed them...instead oppress them with your lack of acknowledgment.
Thanks for your “arm around the should quietly talking into my ear with my own best interests in mind” post suggesting that I go comment somewhere else on some liberal forum like ‘Move On’. I appreciate your paternal advice, but hey, I’ve been doing this stuff for a long time and I will give you my standard reply:
If you don’t like my posts, talk it over with Shark. When he says, either privately through and e-mail or publicly through this forum to “Get Lost”, I will go quietly into that good night.
In the meantime, I will avail myself to the opportunity to post here based on the implied invitation of Mr. Shark that this is a public forum and dissenting views are welcome.
Just let me know.
You’ve got it all wrong. We don’t want you to shut up at all. The more you open you mouth, the more we see who you really are. Keep posting. We love it. Honest, we are your biggest fans.
How’s the “foreign sounding names” project going?
Did I call you a "wing-nut"? I'm sorry, I don't recall that but maybe so. I take it back. You are entirely reasonable and even handed in your posts. And no doubt an authority on biblical scholarship.
Thanks for your wisdom and insight, I have truly grown thru reading your posts.
Posted by: Unkl Witz on March 26, 2005 08:20 PMHow’s the “foreign sounding names” project going?
Whatever Witz.. are you trying to be patronizing ? The more we open our mouths, the more the truth has the opportunity to be exposed to the leftists dismay - but if that's what you want, this blog will keep bringing it on at ya - no problemo. Foreign sounding names project ? Some misinterpreted line by you from an empassioned post. So keep dissembling and changing the argument - we have your number -irrelevance for the sake of irrelevance.
A tactic perceived is indeed a tactic.
Gee....I'm not sure....That's not my project...
I'm on the "expose the liberal's attempt at manipulating public opinion with lies, insults and fear mongering in the Sound Politics blog" project...
sorry.
I suppose that the same few posters could post with multiple names/e-mail addresses, like they do on some of the liberal blogs. That way it would appear that there are more people reading...
I have never taken my time to respond to any of your posts - although I read them. They sound very much like every left-wing person I know. My experience is that nothing is likely to affect the opinion of them. No amount of logic or facts or reason.
You probably will think that that's because no one makes a sufficient argument. Those people I know who are unmoved in their thinking are simply stubborn, and no amount of arguing will ever change their mind.
Just because someone stands firm in their belief, doesn't mean their belief is correct. I doubt that anything anyone on this blog says will affect your opinion, but you'll keep reading this blog anyway. Something keeps you coming back...

You refute your own name when you post and chose that because of Stefan's previous post on the WSDCC. They used Stefan's information.
So in closing Veritas, good try. You post is nothing close to Veritas? Choose Morus instead. Morus you say? Yes, Morus; Latin for Fool! Or Choose Baka! Baka you say? Yes, Baka; Japanese for Fool!

At first, it was just a simple statewide election that was "flawed." They allowed felons to register (why would someone want to check if one was a felon?) They had no safeguards in place for people voting twice (provisional ballots). They didn't check one's citizenship when getting a driver's license (and thereby registering to vote, via MotorVotEr) as that might "offend" someone. They used tax-payer money to enlinst a van to drive only in certain "neighborhoods" to register new voters.
Eventually, they will pass laws that guarantee non-citzens the right to vote (as it will have already been a long-established tradition). When this happens, I would prefer to emigrate to some country that makes no pretenses of loving liberty; to North Korea, for instance... where despotism can be taken pure... without the base alloy of hypocrisy.
