Seattle anti-war protestors who organized last Saturday's action on the two-year anniversary of our invasion of Iraq get an earful from one participant in this week's "I Anonymous," courtesy of Seattle's alternative alternative weekly, The Stranger.
....when I show up for a MARCH at NOON, I don't expect to be forced to listen to two hours of s***** speakers while stuck out in the RAIN. People arrived energized, ready to take action--but instead of taking action, you did what so many liberals before you have done: talk talk talk, instead of walk walk walk. By the time I decided that enough was enough, I was soaked through....Who the f*** are you to talk about universal health care when you make people stand out in the rain for two hours?....Next time, get two speakers that don't suck, have them each speak for 15 minutes, and get the march on the road.
Gotta also love the reference to U.S. Rep. Baghdad Jim McDermott of Seattle as "freakishly popular." Yeah, that's about right.
Encounter therapy continues on The Left, tho it's hard to top Rolling Stone's bitch-slap of MoveOn.org.
Posted by Matt Rosenberg at March 25, 2005 05:13 PM | Email ThisMatt, is this a long-lost relative?
I say keep letting MoveOn.org do their thing... it's great for us Urbane Rs.
Posted by: bmvaughn on March 25, 2005 06:47 PMHey, I've got an idea, why don't the "Urbane R's" get out there and have your own parade? I know you're all busy, family life, careers, etc.
But I think it really would mean something for us to march in Seattle. It would send a signal that hope is not lost--that a new era is dawning on the Emerald City. Show your true colors, and let's march on Seattle!!!
Posted by: Chairman Bell on March 25, 2005 07:13 PMBut.... Nooooo. Simon Rosenberg of the New Democrat Network (in the linked RS article in my post)is alas, no relative of mine. Were that he was, perhaps I - a charter member of the No-Longer-Democrat-Network - could then fix him up some home-cooked lamb shashlik, hummus, babaganouj, and raita; pour some Dry Mead; crisp up the Pita; and begin to help him get his head on straight.
Ah, well. Simon has my e-mail address if he is interested. One Rosenberg to another, that is.
Posted by: Matt Rosenberg on March 25, 2005 07:39 PMoh my G-d!
I'm rolling!
That is a perfect description of the recent March/Protest/Freak shows (what-ever) of the ultra liberal left in Seattle!
Well.....There ya go! Now we know why Nelson, Unkle Witz, etc ...having been YAWNING so much in their posts!! The poor fools have probably been subjecting themselves to hours and hours of droning ignorant speeches in the pouring rain!!!
snicker......
Posted by: Deborah on March 25, 2005 08:10 PMMcDermott is mentally deranged..."Bagdad" Dean Logan belongs in the circus. Ron Sims really had bad home training but is in denial...
Posted by: KS on March 25, 2005 09:56 PMGlad you liked I Anonymous, usually the column gores one of Stefan's cows and hurts his feelings expect for the rant against the street beggers.
I Anonymous doesn't seem to have a political position other to be universally offensive to rotating targets.
Posted by: Erik on March 25, 2005 10:02 PMIsn't it ironic that the very same people that are screaming about how global warming is causing a drought in the PNW were out there soaking themselves in the rain? I guess they were storing up water in their skin in preparation for environmental Armageddon.

We Urban R's prefer action over show. Parades (especially those with paper mache crap) are just a bunch of sound and fury signifying nothing.

YES to Chairman Bell, NO to Brutus.
Just as MoveOn dot org is run by only 10 lunatics at a keyboard, not many people have time to sit and sift through blogs. We DO need to organize a show of a RIGHT STRENGTH in Seattle, so other 'closet republicans', who don't have time to attend clubs meetings can learned that they are not alone, that there is hope for this beautiful region, that they are part of a BIG movement, waiting for them to join. I am not a leader, but I will join a "back to no-nonsense, kill the insane PC ran amok, freedom to say Christmas/Easter or whatever religious words you want to say, teach our children how to read and write, not how to masturbate" movement/parade.
BTW. King Sims forbids us to say 'Merry Christmas' at work, but it's OK for Muslims working for public offices to come to a break room with a little carpet positioned towards Mecca and pray several times during work hours.
Thank you for listening.
Proud mother of Iraq war veteran. I am very gratefull. He is back after 13 months of duty, sound and healthy.
Unlike der Fuhrer Stefan and his henchmen who squelch speech.
Pound yourself on the back the next time the whiners on unSound Politics squelch another person's opinion in order for conformity to be upmost in your ideologies.
BTW, I guees the Bush Regime's big loss in Florida over the right to liberty missed your radar again. The GOP is slowly but surely being divided from within by the extreme right wing which is represented by Sound Politics. I loved it when SP spewed venom and vitriol toward John Gibson, one of you own, for actually daring to dissent againt the mind think of the Sound Politcs mantra of hate.
Keep up the good work Matt and Stefan. you will soon help divide the national and state GOP into a shadow if itself.
BTW Jesus loves you.
