Shrill and Inaccurate

King County Executive Ron Sims will give the 2005 Executive State of the County Address to the Council today at 1:30.

Watch on KCTV online (or Channel 22 on most King County cable systems) and post your live commentary!

UPDATE: The meeting is finally starting at 2:15pm

The meeting is in recess as Councilmembers Larry Phillips and Peter von Reichbauer stepped out to "escort Executive Sims to the chamber".

Sims managed to both get his pants on this morning AND find his way into the chamber. As he walked in he kissed every member of the Council except for David Irons.

2. KCTV now says that the meeting will start at 2pm.

Starting a speech 30 min. late is not a sign of good hometraining.

3. Sims is late because he has done such a great job dealing with the KingCo traffic problem during his reign of terror. It took his stretch limo 30 minutes to go 8 blocks!!

After the next election, I hope Sims "stretch limo" is one of those that has a Greyhound painted on the side of it!

7. "We have a nationally recognized elections director", Well, yes...

"We worked to count every legitimate vote"
Yes, but also hundreds of illegitimate ones!

8. In watching Sims, my first reaction is that he only got this job through affirmative action. His English is poor. Often he uses the wrong endings on words that should be plural, or singular, etc. His pronunciation is also poor. His is certainly not the voice of a leader or executive.

He is having trouble even reading his prepared speech. He pauses often at the wrong times.

If this is today's leadership, it's no wonder KC is in trouble.

He is citing false statistics that the earth is getting warmer. And he's using scare tactics to sell more statism, while at the same time claiming that KC will maintain fiscal discipline. I suppose the Alaskan Way Viaduct and Monorail are good examples of fiscal discipline.

Everyone is knee slapping as Sims says talks about how King County is the best run government in the state. I am sure many would beg to differ.

Now he's going on about a mixed race wedding and generally spewing forth in a politically correct, yet very racist way.

KC is just a mouthpiece for the agenda of the extreme left.

Scary.

9. Overall, the speech was a self congratulatory joke. Sims never really said much other than that everything is perfect. You can usually tell that a state of the county speech is a lie when the speaker won't even acknowledge that there is room for improvement. There were a lot of trite bromides, but I doubt Sims even knows what a trite bromide is. The few people in the chamber are all clearly sycophants of Ron Sims.

The attendance was not at all representative of the citizens of King County, many of whom are very dissapointed with KC leadership and particular, Ron Sims, but you certainly would never learn that by watching such a sell job.

I'd be sorry for all of your KC residents, but Pierce County is about equal to KC in terms of bad government.

10. "We have a nationally recognized elections director", Well, yes...

It seems some people in this State have alot of trouble understanding the differnce between famous and infamous.........

11. Wow...one little "e" makes all the 'difference'....doesn't it?

12. He's a pathetic speaker, it's just as bad as watching Buckweat from the Little Rascals trying to speak about something serious while not breking character. "popalation" I had to laugh at that, I think the word is population if your mother had given you a better education and less "home training" you might not look as dumb.

13. Adriel--
"Buckwheat"---ezactly! Buckwheat and Don King morphed together.

CORRECTION--
I CAREFULLY listened to the tape and it sounded to me like he called Logan a "Nationally-recognized eRection Director".

14. Behind the scenes, Sims noted that the Republican Caucus of the King County council was heard on KTTH from 7-8:30AM this morning. So Sims ramped up his demagoguery & talked about giving anything and everything (more than anyone wants - when they see the price tag).

The radio appearance also kicked off the campaign by David Irons. So "Buckwheat" Sims laid it on thick with the political correctness, which is nauseating to most decent human beings.

I heard a cut of him saying that "the state of the county was Excellent". Excellent for dictators maybe but sucky for people under his rule. He was wrapping the pathetic programs in technology like using grey water to ease the drought restriction and generating energy from combustion of solid waste. I doubt if these are new and would be curious what the truth about these programs is. I'm not feeling good about anything related to County Government especially with the component of Seattle included.

15. Thank God I missed it!

I gag when I see Sims anywhere,...but to have to focus on his face and his lying - self promoting Bulls**t - for any length of time, is just an incredible torture for me.....
There is just something so offensive and phony about the way he says and does anything! Makes my skin crawl....

16. ""Most lies succeed because no one goes through the work to figure out how to catch them."
-Paul Ekman

As Sims is learning (hence his agitation and incoherence), many someones are going to the work and have already exposed the truth!

This state will soon be rid of Sims and then Gregoire.

17. Sims found his pants? Were they the magically appearing type, just like all those ballots?

He's good home trained, huh?

18. Upon graduation from Highline Community College in 2002, I was treated to a clear exposition of Sims intellect.

He aply entitled his clever and inspiring commencement address "Poopy Pants." The speech amounted to a tedious rambling dissertation that insulted everyone's collective intelligence, impugned the character of his two young sons, all in service to his point that "I Ron Simms am a real neat guy."

All it proved was that Ron Simms is an idiot who is in power because of the likes of people like Mike, Anklewhiz, and Headless Lucy.

That's liberals for you.
