An untapped resource

Relevant to Washington's gubernatorial mess... oops, I mean, model election, Frank J. of IMAO comments on the DNC push to enfranchise felons:

Now, conservatives have been making statements against the effectiveness of gun control for a while, in the form of: "If someone is planning on killing someone, he won't have any compunction about breaking gun laws." Democrats must have finally taken that to heart, and expanded the logic to "If someone is capable of murder, he probably won't have any compunction about voting for a Democrat."

Now the DNC see violent offenders as an untapped resource to help push close elections to their side. And it works in more ways than just giving them more votes. Think of what the new Democrat ads would be like:

ANNOUNCER: Now that felons have regained the vote, the Democrats want to see as many as possible at your local polling place. Yes, voting around you will be your newly enfranchised friends like these...

On screen appears mug shots of offenders along with their rap sheets.

Talk about voter intimidation.

2. It is not surprising to me that the democrats are courting felons. Chicago Style nepotism I say! They should look into the King County Elections department, they would find a few felons there for sure!

3. I love it! I hope to see the ads soon. Frank J hit the nail right on the head.

5. Ya know Headless, the R’s may have a point here. Given the unprecedented number of convicted felons who were former members of the Nixon and Reagan administrations, we might want to leave this issue as it is. The thought of those folks voting again is truly frightening.

6. Lucy,
How about Brock Adams.
Under your rules, a dead rapist should be able to vote twice..right?

7. Brian, I didn't hear back from you about the rally in Olympia. SCCC has been quite the bastion of liberal hot steam, as evidenced by their mistreatment of recruiters, and the recent gay marriage march.

Check this out!

9. Brad - be careful what you suggest. You may cause donx to start favoring the death penalty.

10. Are you Republicans dissing Jeff Gannon-Guckert by any chance? You might get Coulter on your back for that. We're not against him cause he's gay, but because he's a fraud and a prostitute--a charge you'll never be able to pin on Dan Rather . Gannon's YOUR gay poster boy bro's!

11. headless,Or is that clueless? This is just off the top of my head but, ever hear of a Senator(D)by the name of Barney Frank?Maybe if you were'nt such a hypocrite we would hear your cry for his resignation,no?

12. Headless Lucy,

You are a felcher, figure that one out and get back to us.

13. Restoring a felons right to vote would give these violent criminals the right to a firearm as well. The Democrats would comprimise your families safety to retain power. That is very, scary boys and girls. Think about it.

14. Maybe it's time for a voter initiative to stop the legislature from voting the bill. Under the Democrat's reasoning I guess that sex offenders should be allowed to be hange around the schools again once they have served their sentences.

15. Headless Lucy: Beware, lest ye be forgetting Congressman Barney Frank's intern running a MALE ESCORT SERVICE out of the Congressman's apartment and his congressional office.

It's simple, Lucy, You guys have Frank, we gave Guckert. We're even. And we're still killing ya.

16. Barney Frank's intern didn't get a daily press pass for two years running. Look into "daily press passes at the White House" and see what you find out about that. You'll find out that the only way that could happen is if someone high up(way high up) knew he was coming and made arrangements for him to be there.

This man Guckert is not a journalist. He's a fraud. He didn't even use his real name to get in . He was there, obviously, to lob softball questions at the Pres. Although you may not realize it, because you're in favor of Bush, but that is highly illegal. That's pure propaganda that the administration is creating--not news. We cannot have a free and informed citizenry if the government is in the biusiness of manufacturing news that only makes their guy look good.

If you want a right-wing fascist state, have no fear, your pretty much there. I can hear your excuse in ten years ringing through the pages of German history to the sorry mess that the US is becoming. "We didn't know any better. We were only following orders."
